The models are downloaded to game\lostcoast_workshop. By default they won't appear in SFM unless you change your search paths or just copy the folder's contents to a different folder, such as game\workshop.

The reason for that is because most Left 4 Dead models use a shader specified in there .vmt that SFM does NOT have, so if you want to use them you have to change the shader to a shader that it does have
