If possible, could the train have wheels be added for all the train carts and a bottom texture for the back platform? You can see through the bottom when you crouch.

heres a Idea, use the staircase that led to nowhere for a cellar area, in there I think you should make a hatch that leads down to a tunnle, then BOOM EPIC LABRATORY

I personally like it but honestly I wouldn't use it for anything... BUT that doesn't mean it doesn't have potential! heres what you should do:
EXTEND MAP!
add another area you could go to.
