I'm using Smart AI mod, not sure if that mod has any influence on this or not.
Cyber Deus 26. juni kl. 17:33
This mod causes AI workers unable to remove fallout pollution because they immediately start healing when taking damage from fallout so they never have the chance to do anything else.
Cato Goldfish 3. maj 2022 kl. 6:56
Do you know a mod similar to this one but does damage when unit ends turn in desert or snow tiles?
Jappards200 19. juli 2021 kl. 12:45
What do you mean, worth it? How about Tactical nukes?
naive 21. mar. 2020 kl. 3:11
could you add a promotion that makes units rad resistant or even radiation immune?
Bacon B. 17. nov. 2017 kl. 15:30
That would be splended.

@Torq Anvil where are these changes made?
Torq Anvil 3. jan. 2016 kl. 12:30
I mitigated the worker problem by making these adjustments:
- updated BuildFeatures and set Time to null for BUILD_SCRUB_FALLOUT
- updated Features and set Movement to 1 for FEATURE_FALLOUT

The result is that workers can move onto a tile with fallout and insta-scrub it. Workers will still get in trouble if they have no remaining move points after moving onto the tile, but it does at least make it possible for the AI to scrub some tiles.

I also reduced the damage per turn to 15, but that was just a personal preference independent of the worker issue.

i love nukes now i love them more!
Kill Blinton 25. maj 2015 kl. 5:33
No way, I just found out I made exactly the same mod! I really should have looked it up first...
Darkswirl 4. apr. 2015 kl. 19:41
Either make it so workers take no damage from fallout, or fix the AI for this mod, because Sweden got nuked two hundred turns ago and they just keep sending workers intot he fallout to try to clean it, but as soon as they take damage he sets them to defensive mode so they'll heal, and they stay that way until they die.

Lather, rinse, repeat.
Captain Kibbinz 21. nov. 2014 kl. 19:45
I have BNW and G&K and the mod won't show up on my mod list.
mythbuster5 21. okt. 2014 kl. 3:27
You should tweak this to DESTROY any units in the initial blast area, it is ridiculous to have units in the field survive a nuclear blast, 2 tiles would be sufficient
Thyran 19. okt. 2014 kl. 7:32
Direct link would be nice. Steam is acting up and not updating this to my modlist. :,/
TofuSojo 12. okt. 2014 kl. 14:30
Sounds great, but Steam is acting up for me on this one. Please add a direct download link (then Mac users could use this too).

Workers are not imune. Just ask Fukashima...
Moz 29. sep. 2014 kl. 2:08
Are workers immune to the Fallout?
sphgoodrainflatable 3. juni 2014 kl. 6:28
Vanilla compatible?
It would be nice if damage dealt was proportional to unit strength.
Coke Gremlin 31. maj 2014 kl. 11:03
You should make a special type of worker unit that can clean up radiation after like 10-15 turns or more if you want.
Calphoon 9. apr. 2014 kl. 4:57
Good idea
neo 2. apr. 2014 kl. 0:56
You are godlike ;), great mod!!
Hoarah Loux, Warrior 1. apr. 2014 kl. 14:17
for those who are complaining about GDR being destroyed and that it's unrealistic, radiation can do some damage to computers, especially over time. but it should have a reduced effect.
Don Parmesan 14. mar. 2014 kl. 19:57
\/ fallout has the ability to fry circuts and screw up engines
🧙Mr. Arcana🧙 5. feb. 2014 kl. 8:34
Just an idea but could you make so it only damages organice unit?. Human maned units and not mechs and such.
staleasian 26. jan. 2014 kl. 17:13
As in I mean without getting damaged or at least reduced damage
staleasian 26. jan. 2014 kl. 17:12
Maybe add a new type of unit that has the ability to clean up the radiation afterwards?
Alphakennybody 18. jan. 2014 kl. 15:30
This is excellent, usually in nuclear war in civilization is almost encourages because it gives new land and easy to take care of the aftermath. The no mans land idea sounds good
Spummy Keester 18. jan. 2014 kl. 7:51
love

this sounds cool.
Axon 3. nov. 2013 kl. 18:11
Late game units should be resistant/immune to the fallout damage
PizzaMan989 27. okt. 2013 kl. 22:59
need gas mask promotion spain decieded to nuke my capital! lost the war and everyone simotaniously took me over becasue i was "war mongerer'
FinePhenomena 3. sep. 2013 kl. 19:52
Good, but as has been said before, some units (such as the 'Giant Death Robot') need to be immune to such damage. Seriously, it's immersion breaking for me to have GDRs killed in a few turns by radiation.
Arkadus 25. juli 2013 kl. 0:41
great mod! is it BNW compatible?
British Digestive 24. juli 2013 kl. 14:05
Looks, good. :)
ImLinkn 22. juli 2013 kl. 17:23
I'm really interested in this mod; despite others' ideas on making special units, wouldn't it be a better idea to get in contact with someone with promotion modding so they can add a late game promotion like "Gas mask" = Protects units from nuclear fallout damage.
Drac 21. juli 2013 kl. 11:03
@DoctorBoson wouldnt that go agaisnt science? im pretty sure it takes a lot longer than a few decades for fallout to clear away
Democracy's Scalpel 16. juli 2013 kl. 22:09
A lot of people here have the right idea. I'd love to download, but there needs to be either worker immunity, a specialized "Fallout Removal" unit, or (personal favorite) letting the fallout decay after a few decades (maybe combine this with a fallout removal unit unlocked at a much later tech).
Arkadus 14. juli 2013 kl. 1:44
is this BNW compatible?
Joekster 8. juli 2013 kl. 19:52
FINALLY actual radiation, plz make workers immune to fallout or create a special unit to get rid of fallout plz
CosmicReef 29. juni 2013 kl. 21:16
Hey could I have permission to incorporate this into a mod of my own? I would like to know how you made the fallout cause damage so I can create an Cold War Mod.
Mako 29. juni 2013 kl. 18:47
Yeah there needs to be a way to get rid of it, too. Have workers either immune, make a special unit for it, or have it naturally decay.
CosmicReef 10. juni 2013 kl. 22:53
Sorry to spam but would it also be possible to make it so that fallout naturally decays after a certain number of turns and/or years?
CosmicReef 10. juni 2013 kl. 11:35
Hey can you teach me how to make a worker upgrade that would make them immune to this? I want biohazard containment crew (or whatever you want to call them) that could have the same skin since i can't texture but they would be immune to this.
Don Parmesan 5. juni 2013 kl. 16:13
finally, the fallout can acually do shit. you should add were once the nuke hits the cloud will spread in a random direction and leaving fallout in its path along with any cities within the fallout to loose hp each turn and special units just to clean up the fallout.
Amanfreed 15. maj 2013 kl. 22:31
You should make a research where you can upgrade workers into cleaners or something like that that don't get hurt and can still clean up the fallout.

i love it when you get to the nuke phase in a online game until that point everyone is gunhoe and invadeing everybody once you get nukes in that you enter a huge stailmate
