The arrow misalignment was a separate bug, I thought. But there might be a relationship I should look into... There's a small chance this tech snapshot could be loading buggy, as I had trouble in Episode 2 of the playthrough with the tech I linked above, actually...
Now that you said that, before I re-placed them I looked and saw that the graphics for those little arrows were floating in the air like 3 blocks away from where they should have been!
Is there a way to make this design refine the goods before sale or is that asking too much of this early tech?
If they really are just not working, try removing them from the tech and re-adding them (there have been some bugs like that). They should show a green arrow in and a red arrow out if they are properly connected to the other crafting parts.
