Uhm... I... really can't think of a reason it wouldn't install. I wish I could help, but my entire knowledge of Steam Workshop troubleshooting is "have you hit subscribe," which is about as useful as the usual "is it plugged in" bits of troubleshooting.

Just for anyone that reads that previous comment: Look at the file size of this one. It's 18MB. Now go to my hulk tank mod, which is a much bigger texture, and notice that its file size is 2MB. Even if I made there be twice as many frames (which would bring it to ~36MB minimum) it still wouldn't really fade. I'm not going to even bother trying to figure out a better fading version, it just won't work out.

I tried that. Made a file with 255 layers. It was a few gigabytes, which is *bad*. It looked beautiful, and it made the game take incapable of loading the katana in any reasonable time. I'm sure there's a middleground, but I haven't found it.
