Having disabled this mod I've found:
1 my guys did not lose a utility slot
2 pistol now works

So I think the function of this mod is inbuilt into the highlander or long war mods, but having it enabled causes some conflict.

@engager6 4 years later and I am trying to narrow down why my pistol slot isn't working. It's lead me here. Seems likely the issue remains
BigTonyDee 25. sep. 2022 kl. 1:38
how do you get this to work i have tried to alter the ini file but no changes in game
Lebowskichild 20. juni 2021 kl. 12:32
Sorry to ask, but I was just interested in the clarification of which features of this mod have been rolled into the Highlander.

Specifically, I'm trying to determine whether, " The issue of ammo pocket overflowing into utility items slot, causing loss of ammos." has been integrated into the Highlander?
engager6 25. nov. 2020 kl. 18:22
Excellent mod, much needed changes allowed. At least now i can justify insane investment in lategame LWOTC armors by adding them 1 utility slot bonus. So that part of the mod works with Long War Of The Chosen, however for some reason pistol slot disappeared from the soldier's loadout and i can't equip pistols on anyone, even if they have appropriate perks. Strangely though units equipped with pistols before installation with this mod still have them, but i can't remove them now. Any idea how to fix this problem? Thanks.

@EAIICarnage
You are not supposed to use this mod with Highlander.
CarnageFxz 25. okt. 2020 kl. 4:58
never had a issue with this until highlander had an update in last day or 2 now i dont have slots. what is everyone else using?
Iridar 22. sep. 2020 kl. 0:06
Yeah it's been pointed out to me, and apparently this been said a 100 times already. Sorry for annoying you.
-bg-  [ophavsmand] 21. sep. 2020 kl. 21:01
this mod is meant to be the workaround for those who don't use the highlander, so there's no plans on fixing that.
Iridar 18. sep. 2020 kl. 20:04
@-bg-
Highlander now has multiple ways of adding Utility and Heavy Weapon slots that is compatible with other mods, in case you ever want to resolve this issue.
Iridar 18. sep. 2020 kl. 19:54
It appears this mod is incompatible with any mod that uses Highlander to add new inventory slots. They are visible in robojumper's Squad Select, but cannot be interacted with.
Skootchums 18. sep. 2020 kl. 13:35
Are there any alternatives to this? Seems to have a performance impact during missions for me for some reason, possibly a conflict.
-bg-  [ophavsmand] 23. apr. 2020 kl. 18:06
it will require major changes, currently weapons are coded in a way that it only supports one kind of special ammo
[H]. GrimPanzer 23. apr. 2020 kl. 6:21
Did some testing tried a crazy build in which instead of researching new tier guns i add a new ammo type to the loadout. I changed the inis to have 10 utility slots and have multiple unique equipments (vests and ammo). However even if i place 1 of each ammo type on a soldier (old and new ammo) only the first ammo in the utilities is applied and the rest are ignored. They also dont stack ( so no +100Crit +5 Crit dmg with 5x talon rounds ) any tis on how to change the inis so that the effects stack / are applied from multiple ammo types?

I had an issue with this mod on WOTC, which somehow disabled the utility item slot for my Reaper gained through the perk Tactical Rigging. That perk unlocked a slot, and it showed up briefly, but as soon as I wanted to equip an item, the slot disappeared. Just as an info.
Tim_ 8. okt. 2019 kl. 17:36
I just completed a WOTC campaign with 104 mods including this one. The mod list was stable with this included (no crashes, etc, and no lost ammo).

But between this mod, WOTC Tactical Rigging and WOTC Vest Slot (and possibly some others), something was not quite working in terms of the utility slots. To start with, the vest slots were visible on the squad select, but on the individual soldiers they did not appear (so I could not equip a vest). On top of this, tactical rigging seemed to have no effect. It may not be this mod that is the issue, but I don't know where the issue is and thought I'd let folks know.
SGMRock 18. jan. 2019 kl. 17:48
@Nifty there is a mod that keeps soldiers you send on missions equiped. It's called "Dont Unequip" so when you send soldiers on covert missions they keep their gear on.
-bg-  [ophavsmand] 4. jan. 2019 kl. 18:07
only if they get injured/sent to covert mission with no ambush as their inventory gets cleared anyway
space is cool 3. jan. 2019 kl. 13:24
? we have to re equip the soldiers after a mission? barely worth the hastle
Scryehard 1. nov. 2018 kl. 12:19
Is there a way to make it so I won't have to re-equip my guys every time they go on a mission?
Rhino20011 20. okt. 2018 kl. 17:34
How can I make sparks equip vests, if possible?
MantisUK 17. okt. 2018 kl. 10:07
Does this effect sparks?
-bg-  [ophavsmand] 9. okt. 2018 kl. 15:35
TLP UPDATE: mod still work with TLP, but using this mod will force unlock all the legacy weapons and armor before you complete the challenge. This bug is minor and will not be fixed before the next major update.
Astral Descend 23. juli 2018 kl. 5:27
I've packaged the mentioned change as a mod: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1448532065
Astral Descend 23. juli 2018 kl. 2:25
Thank you bg!
Malichai 22. juli 2018 kl. 19:06
You're a gentleman and a scholar -bg- Thank you!
-bg-  [ophavsmand] 22. juli 2018 kl. 15:03
don't change backpack, backpack is for gathering loot item
Malichai 22. juli 2018 kl. 12:41
I just want to report that all you have to do is edit that line. No idea if it works on an existing save as I started a new game but I set it to 5 and had all the Utility Slots I could ever use.
Malichai 22. juli 2018 kl. 12:10
Do we also need to edit CharacterBaseStats[eStat_BackpackSize]=3 ?
Malichai 22. juli 2018 kl. 12:08
I assume you mean this line CharacterBaseStats[eStat_UtilityItems]=1
I'll try editing that. Thank you so much.
Malichai 22. juli 2018 kl. 12:07
Am I stupid or are you saying that if I"m using Highlander mod I can just edit XComGameData.CharacterStats and it increases utility slot count?
-bg-  [ophavsmand] 22. juli 2018 kl. 11:55
I'd need to know what use case are you using this mod if you are not extending the features with another mod.

In WOTC they already fixed the utility item stats base stat detection so if you just want to increase soldier utility slot count, you can change it in the XComGameData_CharacterStats.ini
Malichai 22. juli 2018 kl. 11:45
-bg- Any chance of a Highlander version of this mod?
Astral Descend 12. juni 2018 kl. 6:18
Looking at highlander code it seems that another mod needs to explicitly tell highlander to modifiy the count...
-bg- could you please a highlander version of this mod?
Goggles 11. juni 2018 kl. 22:13
Basically which file would be the best to look in and what do I look for in the file to change the amount of utility items......also if you happen to know a console command that allows the user to change the amount of utility items a soldier has that would also be a huge help....the normal "SetSoldierStat eStat_UtilityItems" doesn't seem to work with the highlandermod I believe.
Goggles 11. juni 2018 kl. 22:10
@-bg- how do you change the amount of utility slots available through the highlander? I have zero modding or programming ability so is it possible to do this through the files that can be opened easily in notepad and display correctly? If so, do you happen to know which allows for more utility slots and what the line is called? I can use crtl + F to find the line if I can figure out what to look for.
-bg-  [ophavsmand] 3. juni 2018 kl. 22:39
the mod's features is mostly implemented into highlander already, use this mod only when you are not going to use any highlander.
Torres 3. juni 2018 kl. 10:19
what does the non highlander mod means? is it not compatible with highlander and LW2? cheers
Cibertron 21. maj 2018 kl. 18:16
Wow the mod was great then windows got to know that i said that and sent an update of it self and had to reset to the older version to get it back... yay i love you windows, so much that i won't abandom you! (just beacause you are the only one that all games work well :/ )
Devildog of Ultramar 20. maj 2018 kl. 6:40
A bit of an update to my last comment. I did some more testing, and I found that it shows the added slots when getting soldiers ready for a mission, however nothing can be put in them.
Devildog of Ultramar 19. maj 2018 kl. 19:37
I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but this just will not work for me. I went into the .ini files, and I think I changed the right settings, but I don't get any more utility slots.
Laharl 28. apr. 2018 kl. 9:25
Same question as Ray there. I can see the vest slot in the squad selection screen, but when I go to edit loadout it doesn't exist.
[=VF=]-Ray Jefferson 14. mar. 2018 kl. 15:02
Hello compatible with ammo tactial riddind and vest slots?
-bg-  [ophavsmand] 13. mar. 2018 kl. 17:11
0, this mod is also acting as a mod to apply item limitation before community highlander was a thing
Deathjester 13. mar. 2018 kl. 16:02
What's the default amount of extra item slots this mod gives? (If i don't mod the ini file)
CommanderShepard153 11. mar. 2018 kl. 10:19
@-bg- Thanks boss
-bg-  [ophavsmand] 11. mar. 2018 kl. 10:13
No, but the features will be rolled into the next version of community highlander, which that mod requires.
CommanderShepard153 11. mar. 2018 kl. 7:53
@-bg- is this compatible with Musashi's RPG mod?
-bg-  [ophavsmand] 7. feb. 2018 kl. 10:23
yes, you can associate bonus utility/hearvy slots to any armor and perks.
Siven 7. feb. 2018 kl. 7:12
Is it possible to add a utility slot to the light/heavy armors (Spider etc) with this mod? Or even the tactical rigging ability to classes so the only get the extra utility slot when wearing the light/heavy armors?
