You realize the average effcient range of an assult rifle is from 800 - 1000 yrds, yes?
Most Garry's mod maps are not that large, unless it's bigcity, fork, etc. But if you want realism, you should see my guide on why people wouldn't want realistic guns.
So please, I'd say 'your view' of guns, not 'realstic' view of guns.
