Dragon32 12 Aug, 2022 @ 10:05am
@Captian Rekt
- means delete the existing matching entry; + means add this entry

Well im already at a wall
The base game stats dont have that + and - before the lines
So i dont actually know whats the difference
Anyone can help out?
DdaY 12 Aug, 2022 @ 3:25am
Unlucky that im very untalanted
Ty anyways
Dragon32 12 Aug, 2022 @ 1:43am
@Captian Rekt
I'm sure you'll be able to work it out.
DdaY 12 Aug, 2022 @ 12:28am
Thanks a lot
Now im bold enough to ask if u can help me customize the stats for myself
It looks pretty uncomplicated since it just shows me the stats but there is always the - and + variation
Mind adding me on steam? x3

.ini files are just text files and can be changed in Notepad.
.u and .uc files need you to download the XCOM 2 SDK.

How do you open these custom files
Can you rewrite them with Editor or do i need another third party software

Should this works with LWOTC?

@ZJwh5S

I'm pretty sure flamethrower weapons have an additional set of values you need to configure in another file (maybe in XComGameData_SoldierSkills.ini ?). What you changed will affect the visible stats of the weapon; what I mentioned will affect the actual mechanics.

I don't remember more than that; if you can find it, please share for others' benefit.

Maybe it's just me, but even with the changes in this mod, I still feel Flamethrower/Hellfire and Plasma Blaster are niche and the other HW are go-to.

I tried to buff Plasma Blaster even further by increasing tile width to 3 (from 1). I added these lines to XComGameData_SoldierSkills.ini:

-PLASMABLASTER_TILE_WIDTH=12
+PLASMABLASTER_TILE_WIDTH=3

And for XComGameData_WeaponData.ini this was my modification:

-PLASMABLASTER_RADIUS=12
+PLASMABLASTER_RADIUS=3

This seems to work as expected in-game. For Hellfire, I tried to buff (range to 12) like so:

-FLAMETHROWERMK2_TILE_LENGTH=15
+FLAMETHROWERMK2_TILE_LENGTH=12
-FLAMETHROWERMK2_TILE_WIDTH=5
+FLAMETHROWERMK2_TILE_WIDTH=15

-FLAMETHROWERMK2_RANGE=25
+FLAMETHROWERMK2_RANGE=12
-FLAMETHROWERMK2_RADIUS=7
+FLAMETHROWERMK2_RADIUS=15

This doesn't work...template is screwed up in-game and can't seem to hit anything with the weapon. If anyone knows how to fix, please reply. Thanks.

@Dragon32: that's what i wished to hear! Thanks Dragon32, kind regards man!
Dragon32 18 Oct, 2021 @ 5:08am
@Rossocuore
I've been using them together for a while and haven't noticed any issues.
Rossocuore 18 Oct, 2021 @ 3:40am
Does this mod work well with "unblockable flamethrowers", by RealityMachina? On paper they look like they complement each other. Did anybody try them together?
Nemo Jr. 28 Jun, 2021 @ 3:50pm
These are almost EXACTLY the same changes I made via manual .ini editing, except I gave the shredder weapons -1 damage but a shorter & wider cone. I won't be using it personally, but still wanted to drop a thumbs up & recommendation; it's that good. :steamthumbsup:

Honestly feels like Firaxis didn't do a final balance pass for heavy weapons after the game was mostly done. Poor plasma blaster x)

@CS_frankenbite, glad you like it!
CS_frankenbite 3 Nov, 2018 @ 12:18pm
Just tried out the new hellfire projector on a betastrike+increased podsize campaign. Panicked two advent dudes behind cover, and burned an entire pod of Lost in the middle of a fight with a ruler. good stuff!
Postmaster  [author] 29 Apr, 2018 @ 5:06am
@Anubis-Bastet Yes you could do that to further change things
Laharl 27 Apr, 2018 @ 7:58pm
The commented out portions of your config file; those can be uncommented and put in the same - and + format of the other options to further customize it?
Dragon32 10 Dec, 2017 @ 4:25pm
@Cake_Knight:
I doubt it, this one (as it says up there) only edits values exposed in the .ini files
Cake_Knight 10 Dec, 2017 @ 2:12pm
Will this conjflict with the new Purifier Autopsy mod?
Postmaster  [author] 17 Nov, 2017 @ 11:16am
In general, I think it does
Indestructibirb 17 Nov, 2017 @ 12:37am
I know ADVENT flamethrowers don't pierce cover too well, does this one?
Phoenix 11 Nov, 2017 @ 7:43pm
personally id imagine the shredder and shredstorm to have wider cones but shorter range. sort of like a superpowered armor piercing shotgun in a way
Traveler 11 Nov, 2017 @ 5:54pm
Umm, I always took the rocket or blaster bomb.
Jim Raven 11 Nov, 2017 @ 1:42pm
I find it kinda funny how you mention why should u use only shredstorm. But blaster launcher is unchaged:P IMO blaster launcher is by far the best
sebkulu 10 Nov, 2017 @ 4:29am
I think it is even safe to load a tactial save, because it will just extract values from INI at load time, but I'm not sure.
It's gotta be tested to say for sure ^^

I'm quite interested in this rebalance, I might try it when I got the chance to play the damn game (gotta finish my mods first :-p )
Postmaster  [author] 9 Nov, 2017 @ 5:45pm
You should not need a new campaign for this, probably can't load within a tactical save though.
Die By My Sword666 9 Nov, 2017 @ 4:25pm
Need a new campaign for this? Sounds cool.
Dragon32 9 Nov, 2017 @ 10:22am
Thanks for porting this over to WoTC, Postmaster. I really liked the changes in the original.
Dakka Dakka Booom 8 Nov, 2017 @ 9:52pm
I think it is nice idea, this will shed a light to flamethrowers. Good work :)
