Took me a bit to see the final cube position. A bit connection heavy for my taste, but this is a nice one!
Hikari 12.10.2024 klo 21.58
Clever solution with the bootstrapped laser.
Rooke 27.7.2024 klo 13.33
Went around in circles until I realized the setup for the bootstrap, which undid the pair of ducks. After that, just had to make sure to use the correct panels to do the exit.
A new fave! :p2cube:
SpielSatzFail 25.5.2024 klo 18.26
Small but devious. Took some time for me. I felt that it had to do with a bootstrapped laser , but halfway through I lost the focus and could only solve the map by trying and trying and trying different setups ^^

I broke the fizzler: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/profiles/76561199244363354/screenshot/2473115214791275090/
I also had it solved for like 5 minutes without realizing it.

1.2 Hours, and some looking at comments for hints, and i eventually got it.

Spent way too long thinking i needed 3 portals, and then got it in my head that the only way i could get the cube in the 3rd room with portals in the proper place was to drop it thru the angled panel while it was on the floor, (which upon viewing a Solution video after completing the test, BOY was I wrong)

Always pleasing run. Small chamber and satisfying game.
G4lvatron 7.2.2023 klo 22.51
Another good one! The connections for that one death fizzler were confusing at first, not sure how you would've made it clear though. Maybe some signage.
Dark Rozen 6.4.2022 klo 10.02
Neat map, i like the bootstrap but I feel there's too many connections.
cnh2r 10.2.2022 klo 17.48
Thanks for creating, another great puzzle.
Zenyx 16.1.2022 klo 10.27
Ok, I'm not getting the answer right now. I am very close, but I'm honestly just procrastinating from practicing my presentation. So for now "IT'S A PARADOX THERE IS NO ANSWER!"

After reading the comments, I feel like such a rube for not commenting on your Cave Johnson vignettes....I'm usually so busy commenting on how good+frustrating (the good kind) the puzzle is. It's too bad you can't get these voiced. There have been so many good ones I don't know if this is the best, but I think it is safe to say it is near the top of going with a concept and mercilessly beating it to a pulp.

Puzzle: I had such a wrong idea initially of which laser would power which catcher. However, once I got the cube into the back room and was trying to implement my idea, I saw that one could power the other catcher and simultaneously set up a perpetual laser, I knew that had to be it. ...But then did it take a bit to figure out how to get out of the back room and have portals where you need them. Boy howdy, did I get lethally zapped by the laser several times while trying to exit the floor portal!:winter2019joyfultearsbulb: Another great one!

Brilliant as usual - the Portal 2 community is truly lucky to have you.
Petutski 3.4.2020 klo 11.52
Great map! The trick is to keep that annoying panel from popping up all the time! Thanks for your work!
Demon Arisen  [tekijä] 22.9.2019 klo 4.04
Thanks, Tronsnake! Glad you enjoyed :)
Demon Arisen  [tekijä] 21.7.2019 klo 9.07
@Dhfoe It's from the mod "Rexaura", although I can't remember which specific track it is
Dhfoe 17.7.2019 klo 0.28
What is the BGM in this puzzle? I like it very much.
Demon Arisen  [tekijä] 12.5.2019 klo 5.50
Thanks guys, I think I'll bump up the difficulty to Medium-Hard, since a lot of people seem to be having trouble.
Rector 12.5.2019 klo 5.28
Ditto the last comment. That or I just suck at laser puzzles cuz it took me so long to see it :P
Playthrough video
vallibus 3.5.2019 klo 19.37
Geez Louise! Your definition of "easy-medium" is WAY different from mine. Very nice challenge.
Demon Arisen  [tekijä] 30.3.2019 klo 15.06
@Spider_Dawg Well done for solving it! I hope you remembered your towel ;)
Spider_Dawg 29.3.2019 klo 19.19
That hurt. My brain feels like I've had about ten Pan Galactic Gargle Blasters. Thanks, I think.
Demon Arisen  [tekijä] 25.2.2019 klo 8.04
@quatrus Thanks very much! Glad you liked it :)
quatrus 25.2.2019 klo 7.58
Ahhh where to put that laser cube so it turns itself on... Well done again. Thanks for creating the challenge.
wildgoosespeeder 10.2.2019 klo 11.38
I think this was the intended solution:

Thanks zigzag, much appreciated!
zigzagtenniscoe 20.12.2018 klo 3.54
Oh my god. I'm more of a moron than Wheatley. Took over 2 hours for me to solve.. from a person with over 2100 hours on Portal 2. 2200 if you count the original Portal. I'll never forgive myself for not seeing the solution quicker.... wow am I dumb....

You've done it again.

P.S. Best CJ description ever lol
EternalDepression 20.7.2018 klo 14.32
Thank You ;D
Demon Arisen  [tekijä] 15.7.2018 klo 3.39
@Eternal Abyss Lord - It's taken from the Portal 1 mod "Rexaura" :)
EternalDepression 14.7.2018 klo 15.47
Maybe it sounds like a stupid question but, you know the "OST" (soundtrack) used in your map?
I searched it on the "Portal 2 Soundtracks" And I couldn´t find it, Do you know something?
Demon Arisen  [tekijä] 31.5.2018 klo 7.22
@Magnum Thanks! :D
Beb1 31.5.2018 klo 5.39
So satisfying :o
Demon Arisen  [tekijä] 6.3.2018 klo 4.07
@| \_/ () Thanks very much! Really glad you liked it. More tests on the way!

Everything in this map is just so satisfying - the size of the chamber, the blue lights opposed to the red lasers, the simple layout and especially that perpetual laser mechanic. Not that it hasn't been done before, but I just found it really enjoyable here. And yeah - solving the puzzle was, of course, also very fun. Good work!

Awesome laser puzzle. The double bootstrapping was my favorite part, by far. Excellent work!
greatderpression 16.12.2017 klo 14.35
is this intended or are you aware of this?

Great concepts. Thanks for your efforts.
lfairban 24.11.2017 klo 10.16
I'll call that last move a Bank Shot.
Dr. Strangelove 23.11.2017 klo 13.33
Apparently you can get stuck if you do this

http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1209211658

I could hear in my head: Ha ha (Nelson)

Sorry if this has already been said, I did not went through all the comments.

Otherwise good fun puzzle, in fact I found myself rather amused at being stuck. You have to try hard. Perhaps it could be a hidden challenge :)
Mr Vapour Waterhandle 17.11.2017 klo 13.48
Good as usual! Fairly easy, but probably because I've suffered through Veldrax's bootstrapping megalomagnum opus :D
nock 7.11.2017 klo 16.11
Both awesomeness in the map and the Desctiption. Thought it would take me a lot longer to solve the map, but I guess it probably took longer to read the description in the end :P

@K7 Avenger Thanks very much, K7! I'm not very good at solving laser puzzles either, but I *am* good at making them if I do say so myself, and I hadn't made one in ages, so I thought it was about time I did! Glad you enjoyed it, hope the satisfying ending was worth it!
K7 Avenger 2.11.2017 klo 8.18
Yes I got it! I'll be honest, before I started and saw it was a laser puzzle, I thought "oh no.. I am not very good at these test with hundreds of different angles you can place a redirection cube in." But then I remembered your map "the pulse experiment" (which also reminded me of a mevious map I forgot the name of..) And thought "hey, with the name Paradox, this is probably about activating a laser with a laser, going into a loop." Then I spent about 10 minutes total figuring out where to place the cube to get that loop, and it was easy to solve after that.

Always love puzzles with a satisfying ending like this one. Excellent stuff again Demon! Thumbs up and favourited.
Grays 26.10.2017 klo 14.58
This test has been favourited by me! what a puzzle...
Grays 26.10.2017 klo 14.56
I was messing about with the lasers and ended up getting to the exit, so I retraced my steps and realised that it was a bootstrapping puzzle. Then I realised how simple it was.

And how stupid I was...
Steve1965 21.10.2017 klo 13.47
Yes brutal until you realize the trick needed to make it work. It's almost a static problem where you have to just envision the end arrangement and then do it, and then BE somewhere where you can get out. I managed to trap myself completely in one room by not sequencing things right.
alexia 20.10.2017 klo 20.52
How do you do the custom thumbnail? Editing in the files?
alexia 20.10.2017 klo 20.51
Wow, very awesome. Haven't played this game in a while but this was an amazing way to come back to it!
