the track becomes realistically discernible about halfway distance to the witch it normally becomes identifiable at.

game volume and music volume are at max.
full bar of volume.
only barely audible through the other sounds.
maybe make a cranked up new version?

Try turning your sfx to 1 bar and music all the way up. The sfx are way to loud in l4d, that's how I play anyway might work for you.

It is incredibly quiet, and i have been incapped many a time fleeing from jockeys and running into a silent witch.
louder version? maybe with some sorta spooky violin, i dunno.
