fucking YES!
Sid Meyer made Sweden and Denmark, but completely forgot Norway! thank you!
I just noticed in your description that you're giving people the opportunity to rewrite the Civilopedia entries for your mod. I'm interested in taking up the challenge, I have expreience in typing up quality entries for other civs and wonders for mods.
Any ideas?
@kribreant Gods and Kings is the expansion pack. You can only use this mod if you own the expansion pack and you haven't deactivated it in-game.
@khoodie No, sorry. It needs quite a bit of work to make it work without G&K and Denmark DLC and I don't think I'm going to convert it. If you know a bit about Civ Modding you should feel free to use my mod as a starting point to make your own Norway mod for vanilla.
It could be a bug. I'll take a look at the code again. Also, I'm glad you like the idea of culture = stronger military. Also, you are right, national wonders do not count.
As for disposable units...that's a good point. I didn't think of that. I wonder if there is something I can do about that.
Thanks for the feedback.
Food for thought: The usual domination game will focus on upgrading units and keeping them alive to keep xp. The faith/culture +xp bonus will usually favor new units as you would have new culture+faith buildings and more xp. This might lead to more reckless use of existing/old units. More "disposable" troops is pretty far from the norwegian sentiment the last five centuries. Every loss at war for modern Norway feels massive.
I tried designing Norway so that they could play a tall culture/faith empire with a strong military. UA does indeed stack with barracks, so with Monument, Shrine, Ampitheatre, and Stave Church with a Barracks (which is totally feasible in the classical era) your units will be getting +35 XP, which is a pretty signficant edge. With all three military training buildings, all four culture buildings, both faith buildings and Bradenburg Gate Wonder, you can train units with 95XP, which is a great payoff for investing in culture/faith.
@siggbein
If XP from wonders is too gamebreaking I may change it, but for the time being I still think this needs testing.
I also should mention that "faith buildings" includes buildings you buy with Faith. So a having a cathedral and a padoga in your city will give you +10 XP.
