Wait Markacin if you ever see this, where may the files for that be located?:^)
Markacin 17 jan 2023 om 7:21
You don't actually need a mod to change the amount of possible trait picks. All you have to do is find the '00_species_archetypes.txt' file and you can change the amount there. It seems to work
Lambda 24 nov 2022 om 1:22
This mod no longer works as of 3.5.X
Lesandrya 27 mrt 2020 om 7:44
seems like it doesn't work with 2.6+ anymore. quite unfortunate, i rather liked this mod. maybe i can find something similar.
sealjo 10 jan 2019 om 10:17
The mod is 100% compatible with 2.2.3, compared the code.
Argual - Just change the valid to 2.2.* in the descriptor.
Argual  [auteur] 21 dec 2018 om 10:05
Sorry im pretty busy at the moment, i did not work on mods for a while now. If someone wants to they have my permission to update the mod, provided they ask me and add me as co-creator.
Aether 9 dec 2018 om 6:43
2.2 update?
WallaHorst 24 jul 2018 om 9:47
The mod does not work for everyone due to a small bug.
1
"txt" does not stand at the end so he can not read the command
change the text :
--> "\\common\species_archetypes\00_species_archetypes.txt" .right
--> "\\common\species_archetypes\00_species_archetypes." .wrong.

2
Then open the folder and change this font:
@robot_trait_points = 0
@robot_max_traits = 8
@machine_trait_points = 1
@machine_max_traits = 9
@species_trait_points = 2
@species_max_traits = 10
That´s the "original" Mod (You can also insert another number but at your own risk)

Thank´s for the Mod Argual nice thing

sorry for my bad english >Google translater< :steamfacepalm:

no bugs or anything despite the warning ?
ahilger1 8 jun 2018 om 13:12
please update this for 2.1
Fenguard 1 jun 2018 om 11:11
Seems to work with 2.1 despite the warning on activation, for those wondering.
Manchu 30 mei 2018 om 21:28
Does this work for the player only or does it affect AI as well?
kevinhann 27 mei 2018 om 10:40
Does it work in 2.1?
Argual  [auteur] 21 apr 2018 om 2:46
I checked it again, it still works for me (latest version of game).
sindri42 21 apr 2018 om 1:13
Only seeing five trait picks. No other mods that have anything to do with traits. Almost all the mods I've found which increase trait picks claim that there was no change needed for 2.0, but none of them seem to work anymore (except for one which removed all additional trait points from technology and ascencion perks for some reason).
Argual  [auteur] 24 feb 2018 om 6:55
I tested it nad its working for me. The 2.0 update shouldn't affect this, the way the game handles trait pick limit was not changed in 2.0.
Peter34 24 feb 2018 om 4:30
You’re limited to 5?
Blazed Kofe 24 feb 2018 om 4:17
For some reason it does not work for me... I have no other mods active. Ever since 2.0.0 I can't get more trait picks. strange.
Peter34 24 feb 2018 om 3:54
Thanks!
Argual  [auteur] 24 feb 2018 om 0:47
Mod has been updated to 2.0
Peter34 22 feb 2018 om 12:50
Please update this mod to 2.0.
Argual  [auteur] 18 dec 2017 om 5:27
Thanks! :)
Ridesdragons 12 okt 2017 om 2:44
species creation. to check if machines are working, select a machine pop. then, to see if robos are working, select a robo pop.

you don't even have to actually run a game to ensure it works properly, if it works in species creation, then it'll work in gene/robomodding as well
Peter34 12 okt 2017 om 1:01
Not with this type of mod, no, because it has to work in three different situations: Species genemodding, Robmodding and Machine Empire robomodding. In the past, this mod and other mods like this have worked fine on species genemodding but then when I try to romobod, some time into a game,it turns out there's a bug ther.
Argual  [auteur] 12 okt 2017 om 0:59
What the man said :)

@Peter34
Also just a side note, isnt it faster to check if the mod is working? I mean coming here and commenting takes roughly the same time as to launch the game, and waiting for a response is many times more.

Also I have to check it myself, to give accurate info. So you technically "make me" do something you can also do yourself, and it is not even time efficient.
Ridesdragons 12 okt 2017 om 0:26
seeing as 1.8.2's actually out now, the best way to check would be to start up the game and see. all this mod does is chance the number of trait picks. run it and see.
Ridesdragons 11 okt 2017 om 18:22
1.8.2 shouldn't break this mod. the class system introduced in 1.8.1 will be remaining in 1.8.2. but you should always gives mods a day or two to update after a major patch anyway lol
Peter34 11 okt 2017 om 5:43
So will or won’t 1.8.2 break this mod?
Doctor Proteus 9 okt 2017 om 0:36
I hate this division with opt-in patches. Things are just getting way more complicated than they need to be. God damn.
Ridesdragons 7 okt 2017 om 18:25
@peter, no, like I said, several mods have explicitly stated that they -will not- update to 1.8.1. 1.8.1 is a -beta-. not official. it's still buggy. 1.8.2 will fix those bugs. those mods will not update until 1.8.2 comes out

as far as adding it to on-going game, why don't you try it and see. try to do robomodding or gene tailoring. do you see extra picks or no?
Peter34 7 okt 2017 om 17:37
Does the mod work if I add to an on-going game? Or do I have to start a new game?
Peter34 6 okt 2017 om 19:58
It’s only a question of time, probably a day or two, before all mods are updated to 1.8.1.
Ridesdragons 6 okt 2017 om 19:51
so this mod no longer supports 1.8.0 then? a number of other mods don't support 1.8.1 as it's a beta opt-in patch, such as NSC. 1.8.1's definitely more convenient for trait points, but I can't use it since it conflicts with a number of other larger mods.
Argual  [auteur] 6 okt 2017 om 0:53
You can and it will work.
Peter34 5 okt 2017 om 14:35
So should I enable this mod, for 1.8.1, or not?
Argual  [auteur] 5 okt 2017 om 14:15
is why* i cant type lol
Argual  [auteur] 5 okt 2017 om 14:15
They changed it for 1.8.1. Thatis hy it is called beta, cause it is still under development;)
Peter34 5 okt 2017 om 12:24
They changed where they store the picks again, in 1.8.2? But 1.8.2 beta isn't out yet, AFAIK.
Argual  [auteur] 5 okt 2017 om 12:08
Buuuut it also does not matter cause they changed where they store the picks again :D
Argual  [auteur] 5 okt 2017 om 12:05
Sorry, i got the problem. My ghame was in 1.8.0. I dont remember switching it back, and I must have updated the mod while on the wrong setting cause it didnt work for me... Oops
Argual  [auteur] 5 okt 2017 om 12:01
Specify: Are you talking about robots or machines? Cause they have separate configs.
Dadaist Coyote 5 okt 2017 om 6:45
For robots I'm getting 0 points and 1 pick, and it's telling me the mechanical trait isn't acceptable despite being on a robot race that works properly without this mod.
Argual  [auteur] 4 okt 2017 om 23:10
course*
Argual  [auteur] 4 okt 2017 om 23:10
IDK, the files are identical except the pick values of yourse.
Peter34 4 okt 2017 om 12:56
Not working for me either. Robots, t be specific.
Dadaist Coyote 3 okt 2017 om 18:46
This still isn't working for me on 1.8.1.
Argual  [auteur] 2 okt 2017 om 3:24
Good point, updated to 1.8.1
Peter34 1 okt 2017 om 18:25
I think everyone who's in the know has switched to 1.8.1 beta. You might as well update your mod.
Argual  [auteur] 1 okt 2017 om 14:05
I'll probably update when 1.8.1 comes, I don't want to rewrite the mod every time they patch the beta.
Argual  [auteur] 1 okt 2017 om 14:00
Hmm, I'll look into it, looks like they've changed something again.
