"Chocolate" BunBuns

btw if you have a mod with some robots, they are quite useful at picking up items from animals, like milks and chocolates, (usually every so often i draw a big selection box around my animals, and issue a Haul, or urgent haul command, and it picks up about 50 milks, chocolates and chemfuels that are dotted around the map :o)

1 cool thing about this mod, is that a lot of animals (who might be hungry form time to time, if i forget to rotate them around the map grazing zones), can actually eat spare chocolate from the map :lunar2019piginablanket:

appreciate the replies and yes I can concur that it is safe to add. a lil tweak here and there and done! really glad someone have the same creature idea and actually did something.
cucumpear  [author] 18 May @ 12:00pm
Yeah, it shouldn't be a problem. The only issue with adding animals is usually things like having to add new meats and leathers to recipes and stockpiles, but that's not an issue here.
But yes, backing up is best practise, I definitely do that every time I add a mod... >.> (if you have a years old save you're attached to, absolutely do back up, I enjoy early game so starting over is not a problem for me)

"blank 1 hour ago : Safe to add mid saves?"

hi it should be, i think thats how i first added it into my game back in an early version in or before v1.2. one thing you can do though in general, is to always make a quick backup of your savegames and ludeon folder etc, before adding in a mod to play safe.

Safe to add mid saves?
pgames-food 20 Sep, 2023 @ 5:45pm
hi this mod recently got split up into 2 parts:
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1706669545

but you might be able to use them to set up an in-game message alert, when a chocolate suddenly appears on you map (before any hungry people or animals gobble it up) :)

if it wasnt for this chocolate bunbuns mod, my main save game (still running v1.2) colonists would have starved :lunar2019grinningpig:

I see thanks they may be eating it instantly, sorry for the bother
cucumpear  [author] 20 Sep, 2023 @ 2:30am
Hm, they produce for me. The production uses the same mechanism as bug hives spawning jelly so it's not as obvious as with milking an shearing. Please try again and give it a couple in game days. If they still don't produce (and you're sure your colonists aren't instantly eating the chocolate) there's probably some kind of conflict.

Super cute but the bunnies don't seem to actually be making chocolat.
BlueLeafy 3 Dec, 2022 @ 4:39am
When I was looking for a way to grow chocolate indoors, this wasn't what I was expecting. But I'll take it!
KhanKanin 12 Nov, 2020 @ 11:18am
Absolutely love this mod, It's actually perfect for me since I always just started my colony solo with the ability to research cocoa trees.
pgames-food 19 Aug, 2020 @ 9:10pm
cool, this mod has been super in my 1.0 game before... thanks in advance for your update plans :)

btw i just saw your profile... can i interest you in some junk for your trunk? :lunar2019piginablanket: (not being cheeky, talking about my rimside recycling mod) :lunar2019grinningpig: (honest)
Kimmy Insane 15 Aug, 2020 @ 8:08pm
This mod is far too cute. Thank you for making such a cute mod! :slimehappy:
cucumpear  [author] 15 Aug, 2020 @ 7:35pm
Absolutely! ^^
viirinsoftworks 15 Aug, 2020 @ 1:55pm
Will you update to 1.2?
Meng De 13 Jan, 2020 @ 3:13pm
This is the best mod ever I didn't know I needed.
Mistletoe The Bard 2 Sep, 2019 @ 10:48am
Downloaded this mod yesterday and use it as my starting pet, got another one from trader for breeding. Now I have 20 bun bun running in my base, and I am selling chocolate for silvers. lmao
kebabbery 1 May, 2019 @ 8:43pm
love 'em
viirinsoftworks 24 Feb, 2019 @ 1:03pm
The cadbury bunny! Must acquire.
Little Pussycat 12 Dec, 2018 @ 12:25pm
Insanely adorable. It goes into my game!
Neon Velocipede 14 Nov, 2018 @ 5:33am
XD I didn't know how much I needed this, until I added it to my game. I mean, how the hell else was I going to get chocolate? Milk a cocoa tree and then process it into chocolate through totally not at all questionable means? Or just let the easter bunny come and do what easter bunnies do - poop in your Easter basket lovingly, and then go have a nap (having had bunnies IRL, yep, I can pretty much confirm this behaviour)? I think we know the answer to this.
Roque the Rogue 1 Nov, 2018 @ 8:59am
Oh my Gawd! the easter bunny is now real, science biatch!
Dubious 25 Oct, 2018 @ 5:40pm
I don't even know why I like this idea so much, but I really like this idea. Good work, CCP.
cucumpear  [author] 17 Oct, 2018 @ 1:44pm
I appreciate that! <3
Mayo 17 Oct, 2018 @ 1:13pm
This is the best mod ive ever seen for this game
Thank you so much
cucumpear  [author] 17 Oct, 2018 @ 1:26am
The update to 1.0 only changed the version code, so just enable it in your 0.19 game. ^^
oiwa 13 Sep, 2018 @ 1:22pm
thank you for the update! i love bunny!
cucumpear  [author] 8 Sep, 2018 @ 9:01am
^^ I'm slowly working through everything. Why do I have so many mods?
Tatzenmonster 8 Sep, 2018 @ 8:55am
Thanks for updating my favorite bunny!
cucumpear  [author] 29 Apr, 2018 @ 1:32am
Should work fine with any other mods, and there's no reason why you couldn't add it to a running game (though I always recommend backing up saves anyway).
Hazardous 28 Apr, 2018 @ 4:08pm
sweet, I'm new to owning a PC (and therefore mods) do i need to start a new colony and will this work fine with housekeeper cat?
cucumpear  [author] 28 Apr, 2018 @ 2:55pm
Trade only, but they do show up in the "farm animals join" event or as starter pets.
Hazardous 28 Apr, 2018 @ 2:34pm
do these appear in the wild or are they exclusively trade animals
darby 12 Dec, 2017 @ 8:32am
I love this. Can't wait to play tonight.
Goldobsidian 11 Dec, 2017 @ 2:23am
Chocolate eggs would be cool and well there may be a confliction here, cause I went from no babies to OMFG!!!!! I had like 30 of the basters in a season lol.
cucumpear  [author] 10 Dec, 2017 @ 9:35am
Wow, that really is terrible luck. I didn't even change the litter curve, so they should have the same range of litter size as the vanilla hares. Though now that I'm thinking about it I kind of want them to lay chocolate eggs. XD
(Maybe for the next RW release, since that would potentially mess up games for people)
Goldobsidian 10 Dec, 2017 @ 3:33am
I apperently i just have terrible luck, I finally got a baby after almost a year after buying the couple.
cucumpear  [author] 10 Dec, 2017 @ 3:00am
... seriously? I don't even know how that would happen.
The only way to mess with breeding should be altered body defs without the needed bits (that's why the insects don't breed) and eggs, but I'm not using the egg laying for the bunnies.
I'll check what's going on there.
Goldobsidian 10 Dec, 2017 @ 2:25am
Just a curious question... I managed to get my hands on a breeding pair of bunnies but found that the female gives birth to the chocolate not young.... with the short lifespan of 8 years, is there a way to build or sustain a population that doesnt rely on traders?
fiavel 23 Nov, 2017 @ 5:01pm
Very cute !!!! I love this mod. Thak you !!
cucumpear  [author] 20 Nov, 2017 @ 3:29pm
Traders should have them occasionally.
Droknar 20 Nov, 2017 @ 3:20pm
Do these spawn in a specific biome? Or do you need to buy them from traders? Haven't seen any at traders yet.
Daniel_USA 9 Sep, 2017 @ 1:39am
at first i thought it was just chocolate buns, then i clicked and thought it was rabbit shaped cakes with chocolate then i realized it was chocolate producing rabbits.

now am like... why can't my colonists eat the rabbit like it was chocolate?
Primal_DLove 30 Aug, 2017 @ 7:56pm
This would work great with breed like rabbits to make a chocolate factory
The Rabid Otter 30 Aug, 2017 @ 2:15pm
@Raiven Snugglebites: Oh, that is so obvious! Does this mean I can use their shed fur to make sweaters that, in case of emergency, provide one days rations?
WimRorld 30 Aug, 2017 @ 1:28pm
@The Rabid Otter obviously the mod means that the fur they shed is chocolate!!! ;)
cucumpear  [author] 30 Aug, 2017 @ 12:42am
I haven't made any kind of patches for ADS or such, but it really shouldn't conflict with anything, since it only hooks into vanilla hares and drops the vanilla chocolate.
Skriller 29 Aug, 2017 @ 7:13pm
How compatable is this, because this is amazing... and possibly unbalanced, but I've gotten a good kick out of it.

The Rabid Otter 29 Aug, 2017 @ 6:53pm
When you say "produces chocolate," what exactly do you mean....?
