Hey dude. its cole from facebook, I downloaded it. I'll give it a try in a few days or a week or two. My fiance had knee surgery and is stuck at home and wants to play a game on my steam deck (which is our only pc) so ill have to give it a whirl after shes done lol.

Ok, last message and final quit of this mod. If you do not follow the walkthru for this mod then you will NEVER complete this mod. You have so much throwing rocks multiple times to open things and have no clues on what to do. Drop a rock here on this half open wall, run into a spot and start clicking on an empty alcove.... what.... give me a f___ing break fellow. You have made a good mod into a garbage one. Has anyone ever finished this mod but you. And even you don't know what to do half of the time.... bye

Just a little ahead of the walkthru and that is only #14. I see that there is over 45 videos. Wow, how big can this mod be. Had to turn my graphics down to the lowest just to do the one puzzle that required running back and forth flipping switches with fire blast.

Hi, glad you are still around. I now remember why I stopped playing. I have come to a spot, the same spot as before that is not working for me. I think it is on level 6. I will double check. Anyways, I think it says "take your time". I click on both the buttons as you did in your video walkthru but the door does not open. Has anyone else had this problem? I will go check and see where it was for sure. I have been on vacation for a week so need to refresh my memory.

I agree, I included an unnecessarily large number of spells
And the interactions with added equipment did make for confusion

This is my second attempt to complete this mod. I am a little more seasoned now than the last attempt. This is a great mod but could have been even better if it didn't have so many new spells and equipment. It makes it to confusing in my sense. The puzzles are good. Just to follow the walkthru makes my go bonkers. lol The one time when you walked thru the teleporters by accident didn't really tell me how you got to the other door that was open. Many tries there but after looking at what you got out of the chest I just spawned what I needed and I think one was a blue gem. Still, I'm down to level 6 and moving on. Yes, some people are still playing these old mods.

Haha So - yes you need to download version 3.6 from Nexus, that is version the walkthroughs are using..... here is the link:

Dear @akroma222 my son loves your mod. He is currently stuck on L6 Below the Pits and is watching your walkthrough on Youtube. I think the issue maybe that he is using an earlier version of the mod, as we only have Steam. My son is asking for version 3.3. Is this only on the Nexus mods site? I should probably add that my son is disabled, so he is unable to tell me easily with language what he is asking for. I have played a bit of Grimrock years ago myself but not any Workshop mods. My son has played loads and always comes back to yours. What is the current mod version on Steam? Do we need a newer version to follow your walkthrough? What version is available at Nexus mods; is it at 3.5, the final one? Apologies for all the Qs. If I need to go to Nexus mods I will do this but my PC understanding is a bit rubbish which is why we only use Steam. I hope you can help.

Nope youve done nothing wrong.... you will need to follow the path I take in the walkthrough - if that means walking backwards because there aint enough time to turn twice .... thats what you gota do. The timing is very tight in this area (usually 1 keyboard input fumble will put your timing out enough for failure).....

Hi Akroma, I've been watching your walkthru videos when I get stuck. Super Mod. I am stuck on level 6. I enter the far east portal (where there are 4) and I get to a section where you have to push the buttons. (Take your time) When I do and at least at the same speed you did in your video the door/gate does not open. Is there something I did wrong perhaps before getting there? Is there something I need to get in this section to move on? Last post in 2014 and don't know if you ever check this board. Can anyone else help me.... tks

Sorry for the late reply! Mod will be polished and ready in about another week. Version 3.5 will be the last - playtesting has turned up very little to be changed.

The door does not open even if the same movement as your movie is done.
I referred to your movie.
Walking, timing of turn, push button.

I do importing and am playing the character.
Do not it become a same deal with you because of it?

and...
The import did me a level 32 party.
However, EXP does not rise at all.
The character to change one's job to the ranger is normal.
Is this a specification of the game?

Restarting the dungeons had other positiv effects like alleviating my frustration I build up while watching your videos after passing that area to see what I have missed.....for secrets you could simply go back but all the items I used incorrecty squandering their true potential (Orgre Blodd) made me shout out in anger ;).
At the end one a little bit unspecific bug report (its been a while) First time entering engineering core. You have to go left where you find a pedestal where you have to leave the red gem to open one of two gates (the second one is the "Speed wont get you anywhere here" Lie). After opening both and going through the red gem disapears as usual. The problem was that by going to the pedestal again I managed to close one of the gates by placing a green or blue gem on the pedestal. I found no way of opening the gate afterwards since I was missing the red gem.

thx for answering anyway but its my fault that I did not post in the forum thread for your mod.
I "solved" the skillpoit problem by first going through Master Quest (which is very generous with XP) . Well......if I was overleveled before what am I now ? No matter I play this game not realy because of the battles. I played until the engeneering core and enjoyed myself very much :) . At that point I stoped playing Grimrock for now firstly because I got sidetracked with other games and secondly because my eyes started hurting.........no other game forces you to focus so much on the monitor to not miss any secret buttons.......Anyway I plan to continue playing at some point so I will finish your dungeon.

Many apologies for the late reply (1 month actually) ... I have been careless with checking this thread. Your campaign sounds great, very flattered that you put my mod up there among your favourites :-) Re - wisp shift spell - you will find lots of tomes for skill points, but even so, you may have to back track a little to revisit each wisp portal location (I have to do this anyways). I dont haver an exhaustive list of the bonecraft rituals readily available yet, but I will be putting one up in the next couple of weeks :-) however, regarding the first belt ritual - you need the belt equipped by a fighter or rogue, with the following arrangement -

skull, skull
bloody skull, bone amulet
lizard tooth, lizard tooth

then just use the belt grimoire :-)

Thx for the help. I found your walkthrough recently and managed to leave level 3 :) . The hardest times when I get stuck are usually when the game introduced a concept I have never seen before. The destructable walls were hinted at well enough but I never thought about hitting that cave in. I am currently playing a "campaign" with one party through several mods and yours is my favorite. Sadly that works also against me since I probably wont be able to learn the Whisp Jump spell :-/. Thanks to on of my fighter switching to Ranger and going down to level one I was easily able to access earth magic. But my level 13 main wizard will have problems sparing the missing 16 points for air 26 (and the 10 points earth for alchemy) if I dont find a lot of tomes.
Another thing what I cant get to work is Bonecraft. I should have everything for the first Belt at least but cant get the ritual to work. Do you somewhere have a list of all recipts so I can verify ?

Very Great mod :D. The puzzles are very good but sometimes very hard for me. I am stuck on the very first floor shortly after the Tomb of the King. i could only find 3 blue and 1 green juwel for the heads and for the room between them I am missing the key. How do I proceed from there ? The other place I could not yet explore is the tomb of Kru-Shaul. I would realy appreciate some hints since I want to see the other floors ;)

The version available now is only the half game that I released in Dec 2012. And sounds like you got to the end of that :-) The finished version will be available to play test on request in the next couple of days. The public release for everyone will be a week and a half away. Msg me here or on the grimrock official forum if you are keen to playtest. The new game absolutely kills the old version - definitely worth a replay (imho hehe!!)

How many levels in this mod? got up to palace dungeons. control room i think it's called. pulled the levers stated on the note. 4 gates locked and a teleportal that doesn't seem to work. can u help? like the game, enjoyed it.

lateef1967 - yes that area was redone to be easier - the clues were horrible and difficult. Sounds like you must be playing the old version though. I would definitely recommend you jump on board with the new version. It shits all over the old one ;-)

I am thoroughly enjoying this mod. Very nice indeed. Sadly I am stuck. I am at level 8 in the experimental cells. I have pushed the first two buttons and opened a section. Pushed the next four and opened up the gates to the leleporters. Through the teleporters to the next section there are also 4 buttons. I have opened up a secret section where there was a crate with a very nice item in it. Don't remember how I did it. Just went around pushing buttons as fast as I could :) Where is the gear key I need from this section. What order do I have to push the buttons.

Thanks tzukasa! Agreed with Might and Magic... Wizardry series also. I always seem to want to improve/modify any magic system in games I play. It's been quite the scripting nightmare but there are around 20 spells for each skill now. Staff defence has also been given a bunch of armour and reach weapons so the 'Battlemage' build is very viable. Hopefully it balances out and still suits the feel of the original game. Let me know if you would like to play test in a months time :-)

Wow looks awesome. Keep up the good work and finsh this one off! I really like the magic rework as I've always felt it was one of the few areas lacking in the base game. Esp when compaired to the older tile rpg classics like Might and Magic that had 90+ spells!

Hi Everyone, just a quick update! New spell system complete (~120 spells including upgrades. ~ 20 spells per magic skill). Ranger class option added at the end of first level. Ranger and Battle mage specialty equipment done. Monster ranged attacks - magic and projectiles done. I am now finishing off the custom items models and icons (there are so many!!!!!). Just a few more monsters to re-render - just to be extra mean! This should take about 2 weeks of my spare time. Then I have provisioned 6 weeks to finish the final 2 levels + 4 secret levels. Then I will be playtesting furiously. I will definitely need help playtesting. Send me a message if you are interested in the playtesting. But I warn you - this mod will be around twice as long as the original game. Thanks for being patient :-)

Hi atlamour! Sorry for the late reply, I have been moving house with no internet access... until now! Ok.... so Engine rooms / Engine Core - there are 4 gates which require gems (the order of gems goes red blue blue green) - only 1 gem required per gate. The room with the four buttons and rock slimes - you need to press 2 buttons that are diagonally opposite each other as FAST as you can to open the gate to move on (timed puzzle - hints for timed puzzles usually make reference to time .... eg. Have the time of your life... are you having a rough time?). Another hint, there are a fair few timed puzzles through the levels you are up to.... and those puzzles usually do not allow for movement mistakes. Timing is very precise. Hope this helps!! ALSO... if you are interested, I will be looking for playtesters for the full redone version in a few months, if you are interested then I will include you in the playtest team. Let me know how you go :-)

Hi Akroma, Kudos for such a great mod, easily the best i've played! , however am totally stuck at start of engine rooms, have opened the 1st door with four gems but can't seem to open any others! can only find stairs down to lvl 8 and a square room with 4 buttons which release rock slimes and a locked gate, please help!

Very sorry I have taken so long to reply, 2 weeks is a long time to wait, sorry!!
The Liche doors can not be accessed yet - do not worry abou them. With the alcove you need to put the red gem inside it. Did you leave it behind or bring it with you? You need to go back if you left it somewhere.

Just a note for everyone, this mod is definitely not abandoned, i am working fast on the full game, but it will be a little while yet. Thank you all for your patience :-)
