Patch notes for v1.12

Fixed some compatibilities with other mods regarding the availability of certain focuses (I think)
Also slightly rebalanced the national spirits 'Not one Step Back' and 'The Great Patriotic War'

Update: 22 Aug, 2017 @ 10:07pm

Fixed a really stupid bug that broke the 'French-Soviet Technology Treaty' focus.

Update: 22 Aug, 2017 @ 9:42pm

Patch notes for v1.11

Added Russian and German localisations, which should be fairly comprehensive (yay).

Fixed bugs with the Stalin-side of the focus tree, not allowing the player to choose Molotov-Ribbentrop.
Fixed a bug in which choosing Trotskyite Revolution didn't remove the idea 'Socialism in One Country'.
Fixed Stalin tree to skip over 'Demand Eastern Poland' (following Germany delivering those lands per Molotov-Ribbentrop) if Poland does not exist - I will continue to tweak this one, but currently it is set to also bypass if poland is controlled by the USSR.
Fixed a few additional minor bugs, mostly involving bypassing focuses after the capitulation of various nations.

Update: 18 Aug, 2017 @ 9:46pm

The ‘Lenin Cult’ side of the focus tree was re-arranged a little bit (aesthetic placement) and ‘Order No 229’ was added, giving the national spirit ‘Not One Step Back’.

I added new focuses to the Stalin side of the focus tree under ‘Cold War World’, ‘Trotsky Was Right’ was renamed as well as ‘Socialism in One Country’. A new sub-path has been added allowing you to refuse détente and eventually form the Warsaw Pact.
The Stalin side of the focus tree was also nerfed a little bit. I made some of the focuses take longer as it seemed that one could get to the full 6 research slots too quickly, especially with the short-cut around the Purge.

I fixed the ‘Great Patriotic War’ event to fire whenever Germany attacks the Soviet Union. It offers some pretty powerful bonuses, but only offers these bonuses a couple months into the invasion. It is a timed idea and is replaced by a permanent idea that adds some decent bonuses (for the cold war sim crowd).

I added new naval companies, a new armored company and a few new material designers. OKMO has been updated to become unavailable following the purge (as it was disbanded in our timeline). There are some new political advisors: Bukharin and Dimitrov as well as some Trotskyite advisors: Preobrazhenski and Smirnov. Khrushev has also been rebalanced.

The Soviet Union now starts off with Support technology (Infantry) 1, as well as Tactical Bomber 1, Heavy Tank 1, and Light Tank II mostly completed.

I have also added tooltips in the focus tree to make things a little neater for quality of life reasons.

Update: 28 Jul, 2017 @ 2:15pm

Fixed a problem with 'Free the Peasants' that didn't allow for the player to complete it, despite India still being alive. Added Josef Kotin as a heavy tank theorist allowing for tank-hunting heavy spgs. - Still working on the balancing for this, feedback would be great. Sinkiang is also now a dominion of the Soviet Union (for those who have the together for victory dlc). Few other changes, including adding a new picture for the idea for socialist science.

Update: 25 Jul, 2017 @ 9:38am

Fixed silly bug making Manchukuo and Menkukuo free and democratic. Also added soviet cores on bessarabia, the baltics, karjala, etc if you actually complete the focuses that give you claims - Molotov-Ribbentrop still only gives claims. The focuses for claims (and now cores) now only skip if you already own the states.

Update: 24 Jul, 2017 @ 11:14pm

Added localisations to all focuses previously lacking them. Fixed bugs causing civil wars and advisors resigning. Significantly increased victory points for Stalingrad, Leningrad, Moscow, and Kuibyshev – the latter to reflect its status as the potential wartime capital of the USSR (upon the fall of Moscow – event makes this happen). Added Nikolaev to the map and added extra dockyards there to reflect its importance as a ship-building center. Soviet Union now has access to 1936 destroyers and heavy cruisers and begins with some in production. Removed orders for early destroyers and 1936 submarines because they were annoying.

Replaced Zhukov with Tuchachevsky as the Offensive Expert for the Head of the Army and added Zhukov as a Cavalry Expert for the General Staff. Ilyushin was changed to be a Ground Support company, also added new air design bureaus (companies): Sukhoi (Close Air Support), Petlyskov (Medium Aircraft), Lavochkin (Heavy Fighter), and Polikarpov (Nimble Fighter). Added one armor design bureau: Uralvagonzavod (Battle Tank Designer). Not all design bureaus have their historic logos because I do not know/cannot find them (in the case of Lavochkin it seems like their logo depended upon aircraft and the stylized FN logo for the La5-FN was too good to pass up) – *if you guys could give links for the missing OKBs that would be greatly appreciated*.

The national spirit ‘low literacy rate’ has been given an increased penalty of -5% construction speed and the national spirit ‘comforts for the people’ has been given a decreased penalty – changing consumer goods factories to 10% instead of 20%. The ‘Patriotic War’ spirit has now been completely reworked to fire only when the Soviet Union has the ‘Molotov Ribbentrop Pact’ spirit and is fighting a defensive war against Germany. Also, Trotsky is now punished for agreeing to Molotov-Ribbentrop.

Buffed the Trotsky trees generally, decreasing time to work on some of the earlier focuses for balancing purposes. Updated both to each have a focus to rename Stalingrad to ‘Trotskygrad’ (Communist Heartland/A Better Union). Redesigned the aggressive Trotsky tree somewhat, adding two paths (*not mutually exclusive*) and adding the focuses: ‘Depose Mao’, ‘Communist Heartland’, and ‘Political Trotskyite Dominance’. ‘Try Stalin for His Crimes’ now has an event attached to it as well as ‘Negotiate the Return of Japanese-Occupied China (negotiations with Japan are somewhat extensive). Modified the liberal Trotsky focus slightly by adding more building slots for urbanization, adding improved opinion modifiers to Poland and the USSR for ‘Rapprochement with Poland’, changing ‘Depose Mao’ to ‘Closer Ties’ – it acts as it did before but make Deng Xiao Ping the new leader of the PRC (this is sort of buggy but I am working on it), and also added a Chinese Two-year plan and complete Chinese Two-year plan.

As far as the Stalin tree goes, ‘Lend Lease Programme’ is now functional and will initiate an event chain during which the US will periodically deliver equipment to the USSR (no it does not cost the US player anything and yes this is very powerful – as it was in our own timeline). ‘Warm Water Ports’ now renames Istanbul to ‘Konstantinopol’. Soviet Union now keeps Gomel when choosing ‘Pressure Poland’ and Byelorussia is released, not for any good historical reason other than the fact that the border bothered me (#badmin). Byelorussia is now an integrated puppet for those who have the ‘Together for Victory’ dlc ( this will also give cores on Byelorussian land).

‘Cold War World’ is still a work-in-progress and will give a lengthy event chain to carve up the post-war world, allowing for North/South Korea, Japan, China, and Yugoslavia and East/West Germany and Austria (the description will offer some very helpful tips when it is up and running -> read it!). For now, it gives 500 political power and will only be available when the Soviet Union is not at war and when Japan, Italy, and Germany are not fascist.

Update: 26 Jun, 2017 @ 1:48pm

Added focus 'Rapproachement with Poland' to the liberal Trotsky tree. Also fixed localisation for Litvinov (can't believe you guys let me have it spelled incorrectly for so long).

Update: 25 Jun, 2017 @ 11:47pm

Fixed bypass for Expansion of Communism, tweaked unit leaders, and added national unity for 'Lenin Cult' when completing it after selecting 'Trotskyite Coup'.

Update: 25 Jun, 2017 @ 7:10pm

Worked on and fixed (I think) a bug with the Anti-Soviet Interest spirit (modelled after the Anti-Soviet Pact). Please post if you still have problems with this.
Also changed Tukhachevsky to be a level 5 Field Marshal.
