- Fixed a conflict caused by both Apothecary Expansion and Medieval Overhaul Patches affecting the same plants from Apothecary (Continued), which prevented plant generation in the Dark Forest biome. The AE, MO, and MO Patches mods now work correctly together, using AE's integration mechanics. **Important: Apothecary Expansion must be loaded *after* Medieval Overhaul Patches for this fix to work.**

## Version 1.5 - 2025-10-04

This is a comprehensive overhaul of the integration with Medieval Overhaul, designed to create a single, unified gameplay experience. This update eliminates redundancy, deepens synergy between the mods, and ensures that content from both mods complements each other seamlessly.

### Key Integration Features: Resource Unification

To prevent confusion and duplicate items, core resources from Apothecary have been replaced by their Medieval Overhaul (MO) counterparts.

- **Tallow:**
- All recipes and construction costs that previously used Apothecary's Tallow (`AYTallow`) now require MO's Tallow (`DankPyon_Tallow`).
- Apothecary's "Fat Rendering" research and its associated recipes have been hidden. Technologies that depended on it now require MO's "Basic Cooking" research instead.

- **Salt:**
- All instances of Apothecary's Salt (`AYSalt`) in recipes and building costs have been replaced with MO's Salt (`DankPyon_Salt`).
- Apothecary's salt production recipes and the "Salt Extraction" research project have been hidden.

- **Charcoal/Coal:**
- Apothecary's Charcoal (`AYCharcoal`) has been fully replaced by MO's Coal (`DankPyon_Coal`) in all fuel settings and recipes.
- **New Synergy:** Producing Coal using MO's methods (like the Coal Pile) now yields Apothecary's **Wood Ashes** (`AYWoodAshes`) as a valuable byproduct.
- To eliminate redundancy, Apothecary's Charcoal Kiln (`AYCharcoalKiln`) has been completely removed from the game when MO is active.

- **Garlic:**
- Apothecary's Garlic (`AYGarlicBulb`) has been replaced by MO's Garlic (`DankPyon_RawGarlic`).
- **Content Enriched:** MO's garlic has been enhanced with Apothecary's features. It now:
- Provides the unique medicinal effect (Hediff) when consumed.
- Features the more detailed item and plant descriptions from Apothecary.
- Can be found growing wild in various biomes, just like Apothecary's original version.
- Has a rebalanced growth time to match the original Apothecary value.
- Apothecary's own garlic plant and item have been hidden.

### Content Synergy & World Integration

- **Biome Integration:** Apothecary's unique wild plants (Belladonna, Henbane, Wormwood, Ginseng, etc.) will now spawn naturally in Medieval Overhaul's **Dark Forest** biome.
- **Redundancy Removed:** Medieval Overhaul includes its own candles. To avoid duplicate content, Apothecary's candles, their crafting recipes, and the "Candle Making" research are now completely hidden when MO is active.

### Minor Adjustments

- **Research Tree Layout:** The positions of some research nodes have been slightly adjusted for a cleaner and more logical visual layout when playing with Medieval Overhaul.

---

## Version 1.4 - 2025-10-01

This update marks the largest overhaul of the Apothecary mod's progression and mechanics. The research tree has been completely rebuilt to provide a smoother and more logical gameplay experience, and a new, in-depth apparel washing system has been introduced.

### Key Changes & Features

- **Complete Overhaul of the Research Tree:** The technology tree has been rebuilt from the ground up to create an intuitive and consistent progression from the neolithic to the industrial era.
- **9 new research projects have been added**, such as "Fat Rendering", "Soap Making", "Preservation", "Charcoal Burning" and others.
- **All features of the Apothecary mod** (charcoal production, plaster, gardening, alchemy, etc.) are now organically integrated into the new tree and are unlocked through their corresponding technologies.
- The visual layout of the research tree has been completely reorganized for maximum clarity and ease of use.

- **New Tiered Apparel Washing System:** The original washing mechanic has been disabled and replaced with a new, more in-depth system featuring three recipes:
- **Rinse (damages):** A simple way to remove the 'Tainted' status from apparel, but at the cost of significant damage and quality reduction.
- **Wash with simple soap:** A gentler method that causes only minor damage to the apparel. Requires the new **Simple Soap** resource.
- **Wash with lavender soap:** The most advanced method, which not only safely cleans apparel but also provides a small, temporary **mood buff** to the pawn who performed the work, thanks to the pleasant scent.
- **IMPORTANT:** The original mod's setting "Reduce apparel quality on wash" **no longer functions**, as it applied to the old, now-removed mechanic.

### Added

- **New Resource: Simple Soap.** Crafted from tallow and potash, used for effective apparel washing.
- **New Hediff: "Pleasant Scent"** — A temporary mood buff (+3) for colonists who have washed clothes with lavender soap.

### Changes & Rebalance

- **Content Integration:** Nearly all items and buildings from the Apothecary mod now require the appropriate research to be unlocked.
- **Preservative Mix Recipe:** The recipe for primitive preservative has been reworked to require more logical ingredients (ashes, calcium carbonate, salt).
- **Charcoal Brazier:** Can now use **Wood** as fuel. Its recipe list has been trimmed down to basics (cooking simple meals, burning items) to better fit its role.
- **Charcoal Kiln Materials:** The kiln is now constructed from wood instead of stone to better fit neolithic progression.
- **Absinthe Production:** The previously non-functional recipe for absinthe mash has been assigned to the new apothecary tables.
- **Building Rename:** The "Charcoal Crematorium" has been renamed to "Fueled Crematorium" for clarity.

### Fixes

- **Absinthe Recipe:** Fixed an issue where the absinthe mash recipe was not available for production.

### Internal Changes / Removals

- **Obsolete Research:** The original `AYTallow` and `AYCharcoal` research projects have been completely **removed** and replaced with new, more comprehensive technologies.
- **Obsolete Washing Recipe:** The original `AY_WashApparel` recipe has been hidden from the game and replaced by the new system.

**ATTENTION USERS OF THE OLD MEDIEVAL OVERHAUL PATCH**

THE SEPARATE PATCH, `Apothecary Expansion - Medieval Overhaul Patch`, IS NOW OBSOLETE AND HAS BEEN MERGED INTO THE MAIN MOD. YOU **MUST** REMOVE IT FROM YOUR MOD LIST TO AVOID ERRORS.

---

## Version 1.3 - 2025-09-26

### Added
- **Mod Settings Menu:** The mod now has its own settings menu (found under Options -> Mod Settings), allowing for granular control over integrations.
- **Toggleable Steel Replacement:** The first option has been added to the settings menu, allowing users to disable the automatic replacement of Steel with Iron Ingots when playing with Medieval Overhaul.

---

## Version 1.2 - 2025-09-26

### Added
- **Russian Localization:** Integrated the complete Russian translation from the original Apothecary mod, provided by Macropod.

### Changed
- **Medieval Overhaul Patch Merged:** All features from the separate MO patch have been integrated directly into the main mod. The mod now automatically detects if Medieval Overhaul is active and applies all compatibility changes without requiring a separate patch.
