Release Version

This model was chosen because I wanted to add a longer distance oriented DMU (unlike the high density class 117 and 127). The 119 was later also used as a 2 car set, which adds versatily. Last but not least, the 119 was also used by NSE, which works well in the Harbord Valley Net route.

Technical Notes / Limitations of modelling

  • Based on 'design' drawings from railcar.co.uk and from photos
  • Seating arrangements / compartments / doors placed accurately, seats themselves could be improved
  • Rear protrudes/angles away from the frame
  • Derby cab and cabin arrangement
  • Tweaked the tacho speedometer and AWS size/positioning (from nearly identical 117 layout) from photos
  • Borrowed Chris' NSE front logo
  • Added passenger stowage area +br logo graphics + front set number
  • Cab doors differ from passenger doors
  • Colours matched within palette available
  • Handrails for passengers, the larger ones for staff are not (anyone?)
  • Intercity blue/grey with pinstripe, but driverdoor / end should be blue
  • Gangways, Luggage Area, Lights build from standard available features

Features
  • Guard doors open/close slightly earlier/later than passenger/storage doors (from Mk1 BSK)
  • Guard doors open inward
  • Passenger views, one in first class, one in second row of 2nd class.
