Peloponnesian War MOD 8.0 Update Summary (Requires a new save! But old campaign saves are supported)
1. The primary focus of this update is to greatly optimize the strategic AI, especially for small powers for the comprehensive optimization of recruiting, military economy, and defensive counter-attacking capabilities.
The AI will be able to allocate more funds to army building, including recruitment, mercenaries and sieges. Rather than wasting it on agent actions. In unfavorable situations, the AI will be better able to rely on city defense forces for critical recruitment and replenishment.
2. with the same goal in mind, I simplified the agent system. Completely eliminated spies and centurions, and retained nobles as diplomats only (as is well known, nobles exist as diplomats in this mod). Also canceled all active skills for nobles so as not to waste valuable financial support, but only achieved extremely limited results. Note that the eliminated agents do not apply to the ones that are present in the opening game. Accordingly, the technology related to agents has been optimized.
3. To this end, the recruitment cost of nobles has been reduced, and their mobility and vision have been increased. Note, however, that nobles still cannot obtain detailed intelligence on enemy armies, i.e., the player has to deal with incomplete military intelligence more often than not, which in itself is a form of hardcore gameplay.
4. The political system (cultural system) no longer affects recruitment and replenishment.
5. reorganized the details of the morale system. Restricted the morale panel stat to 85% of the original for all units. And systematically adjusted the morale of cavalry, infantry and marines as well as their life values. Also, reduced the effect of fatigue on morale. Attacks on the shielded side (right flank) achieve a greater morale reduction for flanking strikes than attacks on the unshielded side (left flank).
6. Due to the complete elimination of the Centurion. Aside from battlefield experience, the only way for a player to train his troops is by practicing their skills (of course, the Spartan general's guard possesses a small amount of practicing ability). A general who specializes in practicing troops will be more strategic.
7. Optimized the UI a lot and redid some icons. Added bronze style buttons for each selectable country. Added red cloaks to the elite units of Argos.
8. Reset each tech stage bonus. Made it more meaningful. Strengthened some of the weaker options.
9. the AI will no longer gain a lot of Greek influence through tech bonuses late in the game, thus gaining a larger number of legions that don't match their power (this usually leads to financial collapse of smaller nations)
10. ELIS will be able to have two special elite units available for recruitment, as well as the ability to use cavalry as a general's guard.
