PATCH 2 - A NEW WORLD

This update is a huge milestone. From now on the mod will be known as Total War: AMAZONIA - A New World. The reason for this is because the scope of the mod has been continuously expanding, with several new cultures and campaigns to be added which cover a lot more than just the Amazons. However the Amazons will possibly remain as one of the highlights. Just as Rome is the highlight for the original game, yet dozens of other factions are in the game.

General:
- Removed the Black Marble UI. This was done to allow people to use any other custom UI they'd like to, or even use the vanilla if they want to.
- Reverted to the legacy battle/combat system. Why? Because the new one, while deeper and more realistic, can easily be exploited as the AI was and will never be very good at tactics and will always be outsmarted by the player.
- New Faction: Etruria, has been added to the Grand Campaign. With its own culture, unit roster, events, and voice lines.
- Every time you upgrade your city or town, it will also upgrade your armies' movement range as well since the roads upgrade with your city.
- You need to go to a port in order to move your land units over the ocean. You can land anywhere, however.
- Besieging attrition has been added back.
- Nova Amazonia now starts off as a client state of Amazonia.
- Amazonian factions now have one more political party at the start.
- Various little tweaks to things such as technology names and icons/pictures, and a few UI elements.
- The Amazons now make client states instead of vassals.
- New political power effects. Gain loyalty and other bonuses by maintaining balance, as well as each level of power having its pros and cons.
- Tweaked imperium and public order bonuses/effects.
- Reduced the movement points needed to go into the ambush stance from 50 to 25.

Units:
- Brand new complete roster for Etruria.
- Removed Etruscan Hoplites from the Romano-Amazonian roster in HatG.
- New unit cards for some units.

Equipment and Misc Stats:
- Higher missile block chance for Roman Testudo.
- Higher melee defence and missile block bonus for Shield wall, Hoplite Phalanx, and similar formations.
- Better, more informative stat box.
- Improved unit collision.
- Improved animations; combat animations that have the soldiers push out of formation to perform a badass move have been snipped right before they break formation. A hoplite and shield wall should be exactly that.

Fixes:
- Bread and Games edict will now give the proper cultural influence.

PATCH 1 - AMAZONIA 2.0

General:

- Renamed confederations:
* Kingdoms of the Sand --> Kingdom of the Sand
* Eastern Kingdoms --> Eastern Kingdom
* Italia --> Italian League
* Germanic Confederation --> Germania
* The Greek Cities --> Hellenic League

- Descriptions and intro texts for the Amazonian factions have been rewritten.
- Garrisons from the main village/city buildings have been doubled, making steam-rolling through enemy settlements much harder.
- Some edicts have been edited and balanced.
- Some character traits have been overhauled, edited, and balanced.
- Nerfed the effects/bonuses of the "Organize Games" and "Send Emissary" political actions by half.
- Nerfed public order bonuses and penalties from some technologies.
- Generals will act as governors when in provinces (similar to Attila), and their Authority, Cunning, and Zeal will have effects on public order, among other things.
- Nerfed character attributes effects.
- Faction leader public order bonuses and penalties will only affect the province they are in instead of being faction-wide.
- Updated campaign difficulty settings and handicaps to better match WH2's.
- Public order hit on higher difficulty levels, & the AI no longer gets free public order on any difficulty, copied from Warhammer.
- No besieging attrition.

Units:

- Almost all Amazonian units have been overhauled with more balanced stats and costs that are a LOT less overpowered.
- The Romano-Amazonian Republic in the HatG campaign can now gain access to Legionaries and other late-republic era units by researching the correct technology.
- Amazonian factions have received a non-mercenary variant of the Men of Amazonia unit.
- All Thracian units have received the same reskin treatment as the other cultures.
- Triarii now have the 'Shield Wall' ability.
- Spartan Youths now have the 'Hoplite Phalanx' ability.
- Agema Spears now have the 'Hoplite Phalanx' ability.
- Perioikoi Spears now have the 'Hoplite Phalanx' ability.

- Massilian Thureos Spears now have the "Hoplite Phalanx' ability.
- Illyrian Marines now have the "Hoplite Phalanx' ability.
- Caravan Guard now have the 'Shield Screen' ability.
- Falxmen and their naval counterpart added to the Odrysian Kingdom's roster.
- Heavy Spears and their naval counterpart added to the Odrysian Kingdom's roster.
- Agrianian Axemen have been added to the Odrysian Kingdom's roster.
- Illyrian Cavalry have been buffed.

Equipment and Misc Stats:

- 'Hoplite Wall' ability renamed to 'Hoplite Phalanx'.
- Thracian shield's missile block chance has been buffed to 25%.
- Rhomphaias now have a +5 bonus against infantry.
- Falxes now have a +5 bonus against infantry.
- Missile ammo carried by all units will now be displayed in the stat box.

Battles and Combat Overhaul:

I've read many times that in most battles prior to the introduction of gunpowder weapons, the casualties were usually very low prior to the moment when someone's formation was broken and the side stopped really fighting and just ran away (or was fighting without the benefits of proper formation if the side couldn't retreat), and that most people killed in battle were killed by the pursuing victorious force. Therefore, combat mechanics have been overhauled to be very close to DEI. Expect MUCH longer battles with a huge emphasis on flanking to get kills and cause routs, with very low casualties when going head to head. For those who prefer the old combat prior to the 2.0 update, there is a submod available called "Legacy Battles". Get it here: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2098194606

Aggiornamento: 8 mag 2020, 12:41

General:
- Nerfed the Amazonian faction trait to give 2 bonus experience instead of 3.
- Amazonian Defectors have been renamed to Amazonian Traditionalists. Now matches their story more, as well as not being as antagonizing as the term "defector".
- All units in the game now have the loose spacing ability. You don't need professional training to be able to "spread out a little" when told to do so.

Aggiornamento: 5 mag 2020, 4:15

General:
- Notifications for agents, generals, and armies ranking up, as well as the tresspassing warning will not open up automatically. Instead, they'll appear under the notifications tab.
- AI will train the "Tribeless" line of units a lot less frequently. This should change how the 'Helena in Gaul' campaign plays out drastically.
- Slave units now have slightly more morale.
- Low tax levels will reduce the amount of food collected from provinces, while high tax levels will increase it.
- Negative public order will now induce a penalty on unit replenishment.
- Stronger unit highlights on the battlefield from Total War: Warhammer (helps see the enemy through fog!)
- Removed slums.
- Removed formation attack to increase the incentive to use shield wall, hoplite wall, and other 'formation abilities' more often.

Fixes:
- Fixed barbarian agriculture buildings not producing resources when built in minor settlements.

Ave! Hannibal at the Gates is finally - at the gates! (Sorry, lol)

So what's included in this update?

Hannibal at the Gates will take place roughly 40 years prior to the Helena in Gaul campaign (You'll even be able to see a 1 year old Helena in the family tree!). The story is as follows: Following the assimilation of the Roman Republic into the Amazonian dynasty, Hannibal Barca, famed Carthaginian military general and tactician, fearing the uncontrolled and rapid expansion of the Amazons, devised a simple yet potentially effective plan; strike first before you are the first struck. The key lies in Carthage's mighty navy; while the Amazons field deadly infantry, the Amazonian navy is bare bones and ill-equipped to handle a seafaring military force like Carthage. Can Hannibal stop the Amazonian menace? or will Carthage become yet another victim of Amazonia? Only YOU can decide their fate.

Rome has been replaced by the Amazons, and the Etruscans (previously unplayable) have been changed to become the "Romano-Amazonian Republic". More info about them can be seen in the faction-selection screen. The Republic gains the default HatG Roman roster with the addition of a few Amazonian units, as well as a new unique unit: "Daughters of Mars". The Republic can field female generals, and if a civil war was to occur, the faction that spawns are Roman Loyalists - which have the default Roman roster and no female generals.

Carthage has also received 4 new units for all campaigns: Libyan Slingers, Libyan Archers, Carthaginian Archers, and Sacred Swords.

Aggiornamento: 29 set 2019, 9:21

- All Germanic units have been reskinned to be more authentic and realistic.
- All Amazonian units now have standard bearers.

Now all that's left is to reskin the Eastern units, add a few more units to Rome and Carthage, and boom HatG release :D

Aggiornamento: 26 set 2019, 9:48

- All Iberian, Dacian, African, and Arabian units have been redesigned to be more authentic and realistic.
- Bug fixes.

Aggiornamento: 24 set 2019, 21:12

- Tweaks to garrisons.

Aggiornamento: 24 set 2019, 18:25

- All Celtic and Carthaginian (Gearing up for the HatG release!) units have been reskinned to be more authentic and realistic.
- All the new Greek unit designs that were introduced a few updates ago have received a slight makeover.
- Odryssian Kingdom now gets Gallo-Thracian infantry. They should no longer be one hell of a glasscannon faction.
