Update: 29 Oct, 2020 @ 4:31pm

Version 1.3.6 - Collie update, fixes to old issues and small features (1.10.* Collie compatible)

Content

  • Updated buildings, airfields and rocketsites map files, supply regions, state history files, bookmarks, decision files, etc. for 1.10.* Collie.

  • Updated older outdated decisions for integrating land which erroneously had outdated state targeting even before the Collie update came. These should now work properly again unlike the last few versions.

  • Added new decisions for the United Kingdom and Germany to block and reallow Norwegian naval procurements, when relevant.

  • The starting idea "Lasting Policy of Disarmament" now has a broken gun as the idea picture in a nod to what was and is aptly named the "Broken Gun"-policy.

  • The mod descriptor-files now contain a version number for this mod.

Localisation
  • Localisation for the new decisions.

  • Updated state references with respect to new state numbers for added states.

Balance and fixes
  • Fixed the old, broken "destroyer procurement" decisions and OOB in the history folder. They now actually work, though there are still some ship naming issues with the MtG-DLC. These are small issues compared to the prior ones where they didn't work at all though.

  • Merged the "destroyer procurement" OOB-files together and renamed them, now making the functionality more streamlined and readable.

  • Added some basic starting naval technologies to Iceland, roughly based on what Norway has minus the submarine stuff. Iceland also gets the Coastal Defense Ships with MtG now.

Update: 29 Feb, 2020 @ 2:12am

Version 1.3.5a - Small portrait hotfixes, rebalancing and QoL update (1.9.* Husky compatible)

Content

  • Added manpower search filters for two more focuses that should have them.

Localisation
  • Small spelling/grammar improvement for one of the new focus descriptions.

Balance and fixes
  • Fixed previous .tga portraits not showing up in the general list. Now all .tga files have been saved as .dds files in the correct format, and the monarchist events that give you King Haakon VII as the country leader now specifies .dds rather than .tga like before.

  • Monthly population growth on the "District Investments" idea has been nerfed from a significant 15% down to a modest 5%, as Norway has other strong bonuses anyways, and I didn't want to overdo things.

Update: 28 Feb, 2020 @ 10:51am

Version 1.3.5 - Decently sized Husky update and content additions (1.9.* Husky compatible)

Content

  • Updated buildings, airfields and rocketsites map files, supply regions, state history files, bookmarks, country colors, cosmetic tags and country idea files for 1.9.* Husky.

  • Brought the new army ledger tags to Norwegian advisors, military staff, and theorists, and updated all remaining research speed bonuses from theorists and designers up to the current Paradox standards.

  • Added new Husky filter functions to all relevant Norwegian focuses, including one new special filter for the Norwegian focus tree.

  • Finished basic functionality for the Baltic Anti-Communist League sub-branch of the monarchist political focus branch.

  • Added three new focuses, one new (timed) idea, and three new events for said focus branch.

Localisation
  • Added the historical long name for the Norwegian Labor Party of the period, and also made the short form fit the name of the period.

  • Added punctuation to all the event answers that lacked it.

  • New localisation for the new focus filter, new focuses, new idea and new events added.

Balance and fixes
  • Fixed a few scope issues in the basic event file for NaW.

  • Old partisan modifier used in the mod exchanged for the new Husky/La Résistance compliance/resistance growth modifiers in a few relevant places.

Update: 17 Jun, 2019 @ 7:58am

Version 1.3.4b - Small fix (1.7.* Hydra compatible)

Balance and fixes

  • Fixed erroneous state targeting in one of the new economic focuses of the monarchist branch.

Update: 17 Jun, 2019 @ 7:23am

Version 1.3.4a - Map, flavor and compatibility update (1.7.* Hydra compatible)

Content

  • Added three new monarchist focuses to develop the economy of your conquests, as well as priming them for further construction.

  • Added Krisitiansund VP, as at the time it was quite the important place in the region, even compared to today.

Localisation
  • Shortened the bookmark localisation (same for 1936 and 1939) to make it fit the allocated area a lot better, though still not perfectly. Also switched one of the focuses displayed for another interesting one.

  • Localisation for Kristiansund.

  • Simple localisation for the new focuses.

  • Updated .mod file for 1.7.* Hydra.

Balance and fixes
  • Updated the history files with the new political party support definitions and fixed a small error, making the mod entirely compatible with HoI IV 1.7.0 Hydra.

  • Improved a localisation tooltip referring to technology sharing groups.

Other
  • Updated and improved the description, most notably to add a great music mod to the recommended mods area.

Update: 18 Apr, 2019 @ 6:45am

Version 1.3.4 - Map, content and flavor update (1.6.* MtG compatible)

Content

  • Added two new mutually exclusive late game Army focuses, where you can choose between enabling bicycle battalions or starting a Panzer program.

  • Rebalanced victory point values and added 7 new cities in Iceland, the Faroes and Norway. Demographic history for the periods in and around the game's timeframe have been consulted (now Trøndelag and Nord-Norge states are once again edited in the mod, in addition to Iceland). Localisation included.

  • The expanded tech sharing focuses now have an additional bonus if utilizing the "Together for Victory" DLC, which should make them more interesting picks. These focuses now also require you to be in their relevant tech sharing groups, which the previous focuses should have helped with.

  • Improved starting OOB, with support anti-air and support artillery at the start. Binary division now has engineers instead of recon support.

  • Main naval base of Norway moved from Oslo to Horten/Tønsberg.

  • Added Norway to the 1936 and 1939 bookmarks, with features shown, and an introduction text.

Localisation
  • Cosmetic tag and subject tags fixed with correct capitalisation for the DEF.-version of their names.

  • Frøysøy-Østersund and its variant names on the map and in events now utilize a hyphen instead of a forward slash in its name. This should make it show up more consistently if using mods that alter fonts/graphics.

Balance and fixes
  • Added basic mountaineer starting tech for Norway again, which got accidentally removed in the last update. A restart will be necessary if you want to make use of this technology without researching it.

  • "Democratic/Fascist/Communist Influence" ideas from the Nordic faction path now all timed instead of permanent, bringing it more in line with similar effects in the current versions of HoI IV.

  • Norwegian focus tree no longer classified as a default focus tree, which should enable the mod to show up as a bookmark, which incidentally have been added this update.

Update: 19 Mar, 2019 @ 4:32pm

Version 1.3.3 - Large MtG-compatibility, streamlining, content and historical accuracy update (1.6.* MtG compatible)

Important notes and other

  • Absolutely not savegame compatible with saves from earlier versions of NaW, so new games are adviced.

  • Updated mod description.

Content
  • Updated for MtG/Ironclad, with scripting edited to account for and/or add changes for MtG and version 1.6.0 and 1.6.1.

  • MtG/Ironclad-style research speed bonuses.

  • Updated naval traits for ideas/designers to fit MtG's new modifiers for ships.

  • Added alternative OOB files for destroyer procurements relevant if you have MtG. The decision to procure these now chooses which to load by checking for enabled MtG DLC.

  • Johan Nygaardsvold's starting trait (and potential upgraded trait), somewhat nerfed initially, now giving surrender limit +5% instead of war support +5%, which didn't make too much sense. Surrender limit is purely defensive though, so that felt quite a bit more fitting.

  • Added a new state, and updated the buildings, airports and rocketsites files to account for changes in 1.6.0, and then changes in 1.6.1.

  • Also made sure to place fuel silos for all the previously added states, and edited the one in the Norrland state to account for parts being split of to make Jamtland.

  • Updated state numbers to account for the states added by Paradox.

  • Added Njawl's suggestions on historical naval forts/anti-air around Oslo.

  • Completely revamped the Easter egg tag, with an entirely new tag and partially a new name. All relavent files updated to account for the new tag.

  • Split the "Allies path" a little, so that the tech sharing focuses are not necessary in order to delegate control of the Norwegian merchant fleet.

  • Gave certain focuses new IDs, since the mod update would be save game incompatible anyways, now was the time to do it.

  • Also gave every single NaW event a new ID to fit my naming scheme, and lessen the risk of incompatibilites with other mods with edits to Norway, or events for them. Now events use the naw_norway ID rather than the previous norway_mod ID.

  • Also created a new news event file, for now only filled with the newly added city capture news events I added for Norway (similar city capture events for majors in the base game), while previous ones still use the naw_norway IDs.

  • Revamped the "Aftermath of the Great Depression" to be a multi level debuff removed in stages, similiar to some of the debuffs the Netherlands starts with in MtG. Now you're free to remove it in your own way, with many focuses improving the situation separately. However, the debuff is now slightly more impactful than before initially.

  • Added 1.6.* MtG starting production, and enabled the MtG starting techs and ship designs for Norway.

  • 1939 starting tech changes for Norway, now has started the "Operational Integrity" air doctrine instead of the "Strategic Destruction" air doctrine, which makes a lot of sense.

  • Nortraship now available even without having expanded the shipbuilding or encouraged fishing. To preserve a functional and good looking naval branch, other focuses have moved a little bit coordinate wise, and the second level naval industry national spirit has been moved down to what is now called "Nortraship Production Incentives". Thanks to Njawl who suggested this.

  • Added a portrait for Birger Eriksen.

  • Redacted compensation skills for Ruge, Laake and Fleischer, to make up for starting personality traits not having skills added like intended in previous versions. Since PDX fixed this, they are down to base game skills, and their traits now bring them up to the intended level from there.

  • Otto Ruge now also starts with the "Organizer"-trait, giving him better planning speed. Thanks again to Njawl for giving me the idea to do this.

  • Did my research and added some very fitting personality traits to Norway's four starting admirals. Skills were looked at again too.

  • Båhuslen's reintegration event now gives one extra choice for naming the state.

  • "Grønnland" --> "Grønland" in the reintgration decision and event now spelled like the Norwegians of the time would have likely named it (and also, it was already the Danish name of the island), with the samnorsk debate etc.

Localisation
  • Switched the English localisation towards American English, rather than British English (or likely in this case, some indecisive hybrid), to stay in line with HoI IV itself. Mainly neighbours --> neighbors, and defence --> defense for now.

  • Added new focus tooltips, and improved readability of some others. Dark blue no longer used in those.

  • Added new localisation for the new stuff.

  • Improved previous localisation.

  • Updated the French localisation a little as not to fall behind on it with the new stuff added, but not much more.

  • Finalized the job I started many updates ago, with giving fitting localisation compatible tech bonus references to every technology bonus in the mod (rather than just filling in a name directly in the focus file, etc.), focus, event or otherwise. Where I couldn't find this from the base game or DLCs, I made some unique ones for this mod.

  • Notraship Production Deal --> Nortraship Production Incentives, with the new name more accurately portraying what the focus was intended to be. Description also altered.

Balance and fixes
  • Updated the Glomma-Halden line to actually line up with Glomma, like intended.

  • Somewhat increased the cost of the defense line decisions as well, now they cost one more civilian factory for the duration, each.

  • Henry Diesen and Edgar Otto now swapped for naval chief effects, to better fit their personality traits and their priorities of naval warfare. AI chance to pick each also swapped, to make the AI choose a naval advisor useful for the usual AI navies.

  • Smarter AI for "The Moscow Trials"-event. Now the AI better considers their ideology, focus choices and strategic situation.

  • Cut some redundant state files that were no longer edited, especially now that Paradox added more victory points/cities to Norway.

  • Combined tech bonus references to categories (many added for MtG, which I made use of) rather than just a list of technologies, which should make things look nicer, clearer and simpler, while providing the same effects. Example: Instead of tech bonuses for excavation I, II, etc., it's now just a tech bonus for excavation techs.

  • Updated old national spirit icons for some lesser seen national spirits to something more fitting.

  • The "Norsk Hydro" focus now gives one electronics research bonus and one synthetic resources research bonus, rather than two electronics bonuses to represent Hydro's diverse business activities.

  • Nerfed the "Dano-Norwegian Deal" just a bit, to make it a bit more realistic. The deal now no longer includes Greenland (player Denmark would still have the choice to hand over even that, but it's no longer expected), only Iceland and the Faroes will be gained under the standard acceptance and normal circumstances. The philosophy behind gains from democratic routes is that democracy is about compromise (so you can gain some historical territories back, but likely not all of them).

  • Doubled starting equipment percentage for Norway's army, but lowered initial experience, which fits with the weapons stored up and the lowered training hours of the time. Thanks to Njawl for doing research on this.

Update: 16 Feb, 2019 @ 2:02pm

Version 1.3.2 - Large content, QoL and balance update (1.5.* WtT compatible)

Previous Updates (no room in previous patch notes)

  • Buffed factory bomb protection of the "District Investments" idea.

  • Modified starting traits and skills of Kristian Laake somewhat.

Content
  • Further modified starting traits and skills of Kristian Laake, one point moved from defence skill to planning skill.

  • Modified the 1936 technologies of Norway again, now - support weapons, + 1936 infantry equipment again, but starts with basic equipment in production again to represent the old Krag-Jørgensen M/1894. Also since major countries don't start with the support weapons tech, it made little sense for Norway to start with it, even if they might represent Great War machine guns. Transports and artillery additions as compared with vanilla tech still remains, though.

  • Trøndelag back to being a Rural Region (-2 building slots from previous versions), like in vanilla. Vestlandet down to Sparse Urban Region (-1 building slot compared to previous versions). The starting building slots were a little too powerful, compared to comparable states. Somewhat compensated for in "Construct more Hydro Plants!", which now add 2 building slots to three states, rather than just 1 slot per state. All in all, this should make for an early game nerf, a mostly unchanged mid game, and a somewhat nerfed late game.

  • Somewhat improved the "Norwegian Land Reintegration" category of decisions. The old integration events will still trigger at the completion of the decisions.

  • New events, especially relevant for the Monarchist focus branch, now letting you have more choice while setting up your faction, even letting you just leave it and create your own (AI won't do that, though, as the faction unlocks further focuses). Includes new references, as they often have before.

  • The Icelandic-Faroese revolt now has slightly improved scripting.

  • Better AI priorities for many focuses, especially military and naval focuses. Rearmament is now prioritized a lot harder when in war or civil war.

  • New decisions to switch in and out of the Monarchist cosmetic tag. This has a two year cooldown and costs a lot though, so it pays to be decisive.

  • Unique Norwegian tactic limited some more (in part so it doesn't spoil the Easter Egg country). Currently only Norway can get it, Iceland maybe in the future (as support for it is there, but currently no way of applying it).

  • Rebalanced "Heimevernet" and "New Defence Budget" to something that makes more sense both in history, in game and according to their descriptions. This in part includes their prerequisite ideas. "New Defence Budget" now loses max command power and max planning, and gains the reduced training time of "Heimevernet". "Heimevernet" loses the reduced training time, and gains 10 max command power, and 10% planning speed (not max planning, as planning speed makes more sense, and is not too strong a buff, like max planning would be).

  • Added new "Diplomatic Efforts" idea, to provide a real cost to the powerful "Bolster Foreign Relations" focus. The cost is VERY real now.

  • New country flags to better track the actions of the player and enabling appropriate decisions, etc., now and in the future.

Localisation
  • More tooltips for much better planning and mod transparency. Event options tell you what they do, focuses warn of civil war at several stages.

  • Fixes to erroneous spelling/grammar/formatting. Mostly small stuff, like "Motion of No Confidence" getting a capitalized "N". Thanks to Paradox for creating a British focus with the same name, but correctly capitalized so I could fix this.

  • Localisation for new stuff.

  • More French language. Très bien!

Balance and fixes
  • Added 75 political power to "Finish the Nordland Line", to make it a bit more enticing.

  • The "Traditions Worth Fighting for?" focus now no longer has any land doctrine bonuses, but this is partly compensated with a tad extra army experience.

  • The "Building the Kingdom" idea is now even nicer to those who like to send volunteer forces.

  • The temporary resistance movement ideas, applied by decisions after completing the "Saboteurs" focus, have been rebalanced a bit. Now the enemy applied ones also include targeted modifiers giving temporary combat maluses against Norway, which replaced other less fitting debuffs.

  • All resource focuses blocked when in a civil war, so gaming the system for extra resources is impossible. Building slots/factories are still be possible to game to some extent, and they're not broken enough that something will be done about those. So keep enjoying getting something out of your civil war.

  • Renamed event file to the same standard I use on my other mods. This is mainly for my own sake.

  • More mod documentation, corrected documentation and improved script formatting, to make future modding even more comfy. Includes localisation files.

Update: 9 Jun, 2018 @ 3:56pm

Version 1.3.1 - Sizeable content and balance update (1.5.3 WtT compatible)

Content

  • Added four new unique traits, and divided them among NaW's country leaders. Now all Norwegian starting (and unlockable) leaders have at least one trait, and mod unique ones at that. The traits include "Militia Proponent", "Propagandist", "Thrifty", and a fourth trait for a leader of an Easter Egg nation I won't spoil right now...

  • Added three new focuses, giving Norway more flexibility in its diplomacy. These include the historical "Armed Neutrality Once More" focus in the democratic tree, which enables you to try and stay neutral, but unlocks bail out decisions to petition major powers with factions for an alliance (at any World Tension) should this fail. The historical scenario of Germany attacking neutral Norway and bringing it into the Allies has now become very, very possible thanks to the feature that is decisions. Other than that there's "Saboteurs" which enables resistance gameplay (with more coming in future versions), and "Accept German Rule" for a Norway that's gone for the fascist path, yet drew German aggression. This allows them to bail out and become a German subject state for no further losses should Germany accept. Basically a beggar's version of "Join the Axis".

  • More decisions have yet again been added. As mentioned there are decisions to join other major powers (that have a faction) should a country attack a neutral Norway. There's resistance decisions for democratic Norway, and all iterations of Norway have received a NaW-version of the newly added "Land Reintegration"-decisions of my other mod, "Nationalism Extended". This allows you to gain cores on historical territories, and there's also further incorporation which adds some political power and renames states through the previous land reintegration events (so the flavor is still there). This has been added for all the previous historical islands of Norway (bar Vinland, obviously). Jamtland and Båhuslen are still integrated through the old "mean time to happen" events once you own and control the relevant states.

  • Added a new country unique tactic, "Disruptive Crossfire", with unique pixel "art" (editing/cropping/resizing/copy-pasting) by yours truly. Surprisingly, I think it looks quite nice. It's unlocked through the "Encourage Recreational Shooting" focus, and functions as a slightly improved "Delay" tactic (a tad more defender damage, and harder to counter, requiring the Grand Battleplan doctrine to do so).

  • Many new events!

  • Added finishing effects to previous "WORK IN PROGRESS"-marked focuses, such as for the focuses letting you side with the British Empire or the German Kaiserreich in the monarchist path. The previous "work in progress" tooltips have been removed, and the missing relation boosts for these focuses have been added. Also added sanity checks for not being at war with the relevant nations in these cases.

  • Added a new Easter Egg nation due Southwest of Norway, including unique flags, leaders, leader traits, ideas, localisation, etc.

  • Added decisions to create and expand said Easter Egg nation in the "Norwegian Land Reintegration" decision category.

  • "Notraship Escort Docks" now lose its additional reliability boost on top of the designer trait itself. "Marinens Hovedverft" also loses said reliability, but is now a mod unique "North Sea Fleet"-designer, with very nice bonuses to capital ships, and heavy cruisers in particular.

  • New flags added/old flags updated.

Localisation
  • Improvements to tooltip spacing all across the board for the Norwegian focus tree. Also further improved word coloring and language of these tooltips. This should improve readability.

  • Started adding a French localisation. It's about 5% complete as of this update, but this being done with my high school French and online tools/resources, the quality as well as the timeline to finish the translation are both dubious at best. English is used for untranslated text, so you won't be stuck with nothing at least should you dare venture into the French localisation.

  • Generally improved writing and descriptions, especially for certain ideas and design companies.

  • "Frösön" (victory point) has been renamed to "Frösön/Östersund" to account for the newer, but much bigger settlement/city close by. Events renaming this also account for this, "Frøysøy" becoming "Frøysøy/Østersund" and "Freysey" becoming "Freysey/Austursund".

  • Victory point localisation has been moved into the main localisation file for increased compatibility, and easier maintenance. The same goes for most states. Added a "replace" folder (in the localisation folder) and two extra localisation files in said folder to fix the English localisation's erroneous spelling of "Østlandet" and "Trøndelag".

  • The Norwegian naval theorist "Skule Storheil" has been renamed to the correct spelling of "Skule Storheill" in the localisation, as was the idea itself. Lastly, his generic portrait was updated to one that fit his age and actual appearance a lot more (he was in his 30s, not his 50s/60s).

  • As always, added localisation for all new content.

Balance and fixes
  • General nerf to contruction speed in unlockable ideas. "New Defence Budget" now no longer provides contruction speed increases to military factories and dockyards. The output bonuses have also been halved, down to 5% each. 10 max command power and 10% max planning is added to compensate (as money goes to the top brass and planners too). "Meager Defence Budget" is also a tad worse now.

"Building the Kingdom" now only has half of the previous contruction and repair speed bonuses, from 10% each, down to 5% each. To make up for this a bit it now enables sending volunteers (and lowers tension and division numbers required to send them, enabling some limited intervention for Norway).
The unique "Joint Defence" ideas for Norwegian allies in the democratic branch also lost some industrial bonuses, so Norway's allies won't be excessively buffed.

Industrial buildup should now be a tad slower.

  • "Specialized Naval Industry" no longer loses 5% dockyard output, however, so dockyards stay the same (the Navy is intended to be the late game strength of Norway). The mid tier naval idea gains 5% cheaper capital ships instead, which is now lost as the tradeoff for the final naval idea. Also simplified the "Specialized Naval Industry"-idea's bonuses. Bonuses to "Battleships", "Battlecruisers" and "Heavy Cruisers" have been simplified to bonuses to "Capital Ships" (which should be entirely the same in the end, as Carriers don't count as "Capital Ships" in the current version's technology/unit files, and Super Heavy Battleships count as both "Battleships" and "Capital Ships").

  • Moved some manpower from "District Investments" to "Encourage Recreational Shooting". This should make getting manpower early require a bit more of a tradeoff. For non-extremist Norway, this means 1.5% manpower from "District Investments", 1.5% from "Encourage Recreational Shooting", and the final 1.5% from upgrading the last idea into "Heimevernet", for a total of 4.5% manpower. Since cold acclimatization doesn't show two decimals, said gain from "Winter Training" has been buffed to 0.3 instead of 0.25.

  • Fixed the starting skills of commanders Laake, Ruge and Fleischer to fit their personality traits. Admiral Edgar Otto has also been buffed a bit.

  • "The European Policy" in the monarchist branch now enables guaranteeing nations of different ideologies, should you so desire.

  • Smarter focus availability checks (e.g. so and so not when subject, etc.).

  • Fix to "the King's Choice"-decision, so it can't be used in civil wars, only against foreign aggressors.

  • Some compatibility mergers, but we've now about reached maximum compatibility for a mod of this scope.

Update: 14 Apr, 2018 @ 9:40am

Version 1.3.0 - Large content update, with added compatibility for 1.5.2 (accounts for state changes and other additions by Paradox)

Content

  • Added decisions to procure destroyers from the United Kingdom and Germany if you have the appropriate focuses.

  • Added tooltips and functionality to focuses concering this.

  • Added new focus in the Axis path, "German Naval Coordination", to be the equivalent of the Allied path's "Delegate Merchant Fleet Control".

  • Reshuffled the Allied political path to make it fit history a bit better (Merchant Fleet/Nortraship focus now comes before the Military cooperation, due to its importance).

  • Deleted previous edited version of the "00_traits" file in the "country_leader" folder, and instead moved the "Partisan Leader" trait into a new file, "00_NaW_unique_traits", to increase compatibility and ease the addition of unique modded traits.

  • Added five new unique country leader traits to the above mentioned file, and divided them among the democratic and monarchist leaders. This includes "Naval Officer", "Agrarian", "Business Owner", "Welfare Proponent" and "Successful Welfare Proponent". For Haakon VII (with his many traits), "Naval Officer" replaces "Smooth Talking Charmer".

  • Created an unlockable (mid/late game) decision to finish the welfare programs of the Nygaardsvold Government, improving Johan Nygaardsvold initial trait among other effects.

  • Added "the King's Choice" ("the King's No") decision to improve war support if attacked. Woooh Norwegian history/cinematography reference. It works rather similarly to Churchill's speeches in terms of requirements/effects.

  • Once again made use of Paradox' sweet new focus icons, and changed a bunch of icons to something new, polished, and nice. Also changed the icon for "Heimevernet", which was changed last update, as the icon I chose back then was maybe too "action filled", and depicted too many expensive toys, for a Norwegian Home Guard focus.

  • Also improved and diversified on some of the decision icons of old, and of course chose icons which fit the newly implemented decisions.

  • The Monarchist path's European policy sub-path now has more functionality. The "Baltic Anti-Communist League" now actually does something, namely adding relation boosts and increased AI willingness to ally and befriend Norway. Still considering whether to do some event chain here, though. And maybe some relation boosts in the German and British mutually exclusive focuses.

  • Improved priority on the Norwegian Monarchist decision category, now it will be on the top of the decisions list bar actual crises.

  • Added decisions to contruct defensive lines when "Urban Defences" has been finished, and construction 2 has been researched. Both the "Glomma-Halden line" and the "Lyngen line" have been implemented. The second can also be constructed by Germany. AI weights for when they should build them have also been added.

  • Added unique "Develop Petsamo Nickel Deposits" decision for the controller of Petsamo state (Finland at the start), which requires excavation 1, and adds 8 chromium and 4 tungsten there to represent the nickel deposits.

  • Removed "finland" idea file to make the mod totally compatible with all Finland mods not editing states (removed the edited country history file in a previous update). Now there's only a unique decision to develop Petsamo's resource deposits, and the light state changes left.

  • Renamed decision files, decision category file, and technology file (to go with previous technology sharing group file's renaming from the previous update). Mod compatibility has now increased a lot over the updates.

  • Added wargoals to the fascist path's revisionist focuses.

  • Added code to help the AI prepare for war a bit when they take certain focuses (eg. will_lead_to_war_with = DEN, etc.)

  • Removed one of the wargoals from the communist path's "Unite the Scandinavian Workers!" focus to prevent AI (and players) from being suicidal and declaring two wars at once. Having cores on Sweden should still let you justify relatively quickly anyways. Added more war support to this focus and the following "Pressure Finland" focus to compensate for this.

  • Allowed integration events for Iceland (and renaming of the state) if Iceland is a subject of Norway as well.

  • Generally improved on the coding of the land integration events. Now they can remove certain foreign cores, are allowed for "original_tag = NOR" instead of just "tag = NOR", and target "ROOT" instead of "NOR" which should allow for broader applications.

  • Removed rule change and tooltip to allow puppet states in peace conferences from "The Nordic Policy" focus, as Paradox has now implemented the ability for non-aligned/neutral/monarchist nations to puppet other nations by default.

  • Added Paradox 1.5.2 improvements and switched the mod's map/state changes around to not conflict with the "Voivodeship Silesia". The "cosmetic" file in the "countries" folder has also received Paradox' new edits.

Localisation

  • Fixed many old tooltips to be clearer. Added more general purpose tooltips to be reused for many focuses which do the same things. Removed the "Work in Progress" tooltip from many of the focuses which have now received proper functionality (and even the three focuses which still have it now work quite fine). Certain focuses have received entirely new tooltips as well.

  • Improved word coloring and language of many different focus tooltips, now clearer and more consistent.

  • Also added more consistent tooltips to certain decisions.

  • Fixed a few spelling and spacing errors in the localisation file.

  • Added localisation to all the new additions.

  • Fixed spelling of "democratically" in the "Haakon VII abdicates" event.

  • Improved my notes in the mod files for more readability and to have an easier time to work further on the mod. Fixed capitalization errors and added consistent "headline" formatting. Also reshuffled certain categories, and added more sub-categories in the main localisation file.

  • Improved certain idea descriptions.

Balance and fixes

  • Rebalanced a lot of ideas. All four population growth boosting ideas have gotten 5% less bonus to growth, as to not overdo the long term effects.

  • Switched the base game "German Advisors" idea (meant for China, as the description clearly indicates) unlockable through the Axis path, with a unique "German Advisors" idea for Norway, with fitting description and effects (unique for this mod).

  • Switched the combat bonus ideas for the "Guard establishments" of democratic/monarchist Norway, fascist Norway, and communist Norway. With changes listed, these are respectively "Hans Majestet Kongens Garde" (before: -5% attrition & +10% recovery rate, now: +3% defence & +10% recovery rate.), "Hirden" (before: +5% org & +1% recruitable pop, now: +5% attack & +1.5% recruitable pop), and "Folkestyrken" (before: +3% recovery rate & +3% recruitable pop, now: +10% recovery rate & +3% recruitable pop).

  • General rework of many focus unlocked wargoals, so they are not given when the relevant nation is your subject or a member of the same faction. Also checks for them owning relevant states in certain cases.

  • Rebalanced certain focuses cost/time according to the actual bonuses they give. "Fortify our Military Bases" from 105 days to 70 days, "Heimevernet" from 70 days to 105 days.

  • More war checks have been added to focuses. Some now also check for mobilization laws. Here, higher is generally better. There is, however, a newly added decision where the opposite is actually true.

  • Rebalanced "Expanded Aluminium Production" & "Access the smaller Deposits". Yield changes are -1 aluminium in Østlandet, +2 in Vestlandet, -2 in Trøndelag, and +1 in Nord-Norge, as compared with the previous version. Trøndelag gains +2 chromium (representing copper, etc.)
