Mill is better than Butcher for the simple reason that AI often over flows the Market, and even if it doesn't you always have 2 things to sell to balance out the prices.
Foraging - Think of this as a job that you have to do manually (your workers don't do it for you). There are a few cheap items that can be foraged constantly. Yes you can flood the market and mess it up but while it's a good price, you can get some money this way too.
Breaking and entering/stealing stuff - Think of this as a job that you have to do manually (your workers don't do it for you). As long as you don't get caught and get fined, then the stuff you can grab and later sell, is a good way to make money too.
Trading post -- It's kind of what you do already, just that there is a dedicated building for it. As a trader, you are trying to buy low, sell high, but you don't make any materials to do it. You depend on the market prices for your products. (Of course, if you have other businesses, then those will be your source of products and then the trading post can just be your storage of said products, until it's a good time to sell them).
