Used correctly, these tools let you analyze the visual impact of disabling certain effects in real-time and are pure awesome. At other times you can just disable facial vertex shaders for faceless gameplay, which is funny if nothing else :)

It's hard to explain what I did here, but at one point you can see that disabling one specific shader causes the framerate to shoot up 10 FPS for very little visible impact :-\ That shader, if you look at the disassembled code is for Bokeh (depth of field). I'd say that's the game's biggest bottleneck.

Getting sucky performance on a 1080?! Must be bad lol. later maps under the rigth circumstances can bring the fps into single digits on my 980m
