This Guide will cover the details of how the mechanics work in PM3. I am learning the game as I go through this, so this guide is incomplete and a work in progress. If you want to add to it, let me know and I will give you credit.

Introduction
First of all, please note that this is a work in progress. If you notice something not in this guide, I may be adding it later when I have more time, or I may not know it at all. Feel free to let me know. If I didn't know about it, I will credit you. Secondly, I need to thank Nuriko for a lot of what is here, as they created a website and wrote a small FAQ on GameFAQs. Their work is some of the only available English information about the game on the internet. I am putting some of my own findings in here as well, but a lot of thanks needs to go to him/her.
Names and Birthdays
When you first start the game, you are told to enter some information. The surname and daughter's name will be used to determine the full name of your daughter (and your last name). The standard name for the daughter used in Japanese marketing materials is Lisa, so that is what we will refer to her as.

Your daughter's birthday is important. Not only will it determine the start date (as the game starts on her 10th birthday), but it will also change her starting stats. The exact way in which the stats are effected by birthday are complicated, as they also involve blood type and job. Thus I will simply list what seems to be increased, and what seems to be decreased.

Capricorn
December 22nd - January 19th

Increased - Stress, Morality, and Attitude

Aquarius
Aquarius: January 20th - February 18th

After selecting your daughter's birthday and blood type, you can then select your own birthday. The only thing this affects is that sometimes your daughter will do something on your birthday if she likes you.
Blood Type
The blood type of your daughter influences her starting stats and interests.

Father's Job
The final thing you need to do at the start of the game is enter your, the father's, job. This determines your starting gold, your base annual income, your daughter's starting disposition, credit limit, and the aesthetic background of the room.

Statistics
Stamina - Represents your daughter's ability to handle stress. If her stress ever exceeds her stamina, she is very likely to get sick.

Intelligence - Represents how knowledgeable your daughter is.

Vitality - Represents the physical athleticism of your daughter.

Pride - Represents how much worth she assigns herself. If this is high, she will gain the conceited disposition.

Morality - Represents how moral your daughter is.

Elegance - Represents how refined and dignified your daughter.

Attitude - Represents the temperament of your daughter. In other words, it represents the general pleasantness of your daughter.

Sense - Represents how attuned your daughter is to her surroundings.

Charm - Represents how charismatic your daughter is.

Courage - Represents how militarily inclined your daughter is.

Trust - Represents the bond between her and her father. If this gets low, she will likely become a delinquent.

Stress - Represents how much stress your daughter is feeling. The higher it is, the more likely she is to fail at jobs. If it exceeds her Stamina, it won't be long before she gets sick

Is there a noticeable difference in starting parameters? Because I feel like, regardless of what I had her birthday as, it was the father's occupation that determined them.

With the warm clothes, Stamina goes up 20 and Charm goes up 15,

Equipping the Pretty Dress brings Attitude up by 10, and Charm up by 20.
