Overview
When messing around with the in-game resolution I came across a problem when I set the game resolution to 4k on my 1080p monitor. The game only displayed a 1920 x 1080 segment of the game so it has effectively zoomed in to the centre of the screen, where the options menu was cut of the edge of the screen so I could not set the game back to 1080p. I tried manually deleting the user settings files in a hope it would reset to default settings but it did not work. I eventually found out how to manually change the resolution so I thought I should write a guide to help anyone else who comes across this problem.
How to Manually Change the Games Resolution
First of you need to find your settings folder. It should be located somewhere like:
C:\Users\NAME\Documents\The Witcher 3

You should be able to see a document called "user.settings"

Right Click on it and click open with. Then choose open with notepad.

Now you should see a bunch of text with all different settings. Scroll down until you see one called Resolution="3840x2160". Change the values to whatever you want the game to run in.

For 1080p put "1920x1080"
For 720p put "1280×720"
Etc etc you understand

Now just save and reopen the game and it should run in the resolution you chose.

I hope this Guide helped anyone who had the same problem I had :D
