I don't usually give weapon stat suggestions, but as it is supposedly close to the Jungle Update I thought I would throw one in, in the off chance that it may help make accepting this item easier by speeding things up. Essentially it will be a way to apply jarate more frequently, at the cost of extremely limited range and lack of area effect (thus not working around corners).

Imagine a high consumption, zero damage flamethrower that applies jarate instead of afterburn.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

+ On hit: applies jarate on enemies, extinguishes teammates

+ Does not use ammo, each shot costs an X amount of the jarate meter (adjustable for game balance)

+ Jarate meter replenish rate also adjustable for game balance

+ Weapon aesthetics work well with either hitscan or particles (basically the mechanics of a flamethrower) method of hit detection

+ ???

- 0 damage

- Extremely limited range of X distance, no effect whatsoever outside of range (adjustable for game balance, and works naturally if the weapon is implemented with particle hit detection, because it would work just like a damageless flamethrower except apply jarate instead of afterburn)

- No effect underwater

- ???

Of course, these are merely suggestions.

The included particle effect can be adjusted to reflect in-game range.
