and start a thread about your modifications, Vic and I have been talking about the viability of stripped out variants but we aren't sure which ships would be best suited. Any pointers could prove invaluable ;)
With regard to lights; I'm a fan of gloom, I try not to fill interior spaces with disco lighting, I realize there are a good number of our ships with external lights, this is one of the many fixes required for our collection.
I'm glad you managed to modify at least some of our ships to suit your needs and I'm sorry if you feel frustrated you can't use more.
As for size class being displayed in red, anything above class 5 is displayed like this, regardless of server limits.

With regard to deco blocks; we are aware of the performance cost but feel that an empty ship is an unloved ship.
With regard to the cool looking BS pipes and bazillion extra triangles; it's no longer an issue on modern GPUs as their texel fill rate is astonishing. We can only profile our builds on the hardware we have.
