Depression Quest Good and True Ending Text Walkthrough
By Czarina Schwartz
Depression Quest is an interactive fiction game where you play as someone living with depression. You are given a series of everyday life events and have to attempt to manage your illness, relationships, job, and possible treatment. This game aims to show other sufferers of depression that they are not alone in their feelings, and to illustrate to people who may not understand the illness the depths of what it can do to people.

The game offers a leeway in that, if you make some mistakes but score the points headed for one route, you will still get the ending despite the few wrong choices. Some choices are more flexible than the important decisions you face. I have played this game twice and have gotten 2 different endings: good and true. Follow these steps to get them as well:

True ending
(medication +therapy)
Begin
Next
► Reluctantly sit down at your desk and try to make yourself do something
Next
► Agree to go
► Cling to the back wall, sip your beer and wait for your girlfriend to return
Next
► Tell her that everything is fine, and thank her for asking
Next
► Become a cat owner. You could use the companionship
► Don't say anything. You are already worried about her being upset with you
Next
► Test the waters and open up a little, hoping she'll understand
Next
► (Lie) Tell him it was a routine cleaning
Next
► Try your luck and call the number even though the mere thought of talking to someone makes you anxious. She cared enough to send it to you, after all.
► Head to the therapist's office, even though you're totally unsure of what to expect
Next
► Head into work. At least you can leave early if it gets too unbearable

Bad end
(no medication, no therapy, no pet)
I am assuming that neglecting your office work, not opening up with your girlfriend Alex, declining medication and/or therapy, withdrawing and not reaching out for emotional support, being frank with mom and Malcolm will land you up with the bad ending. Feel free to explore and let me know alternate endings below in the comments!
