Just use overflooding light, or there's even models for suns out there.

Actually I tried to do something like this too, for Izaya. You gotta add a little more detail, such as more lights, a sun, or even particles coming out of the mug.

scince the sun is setting/rising, why didnt you make the light a little orange to signal that ?
