First off, while the game is considered the demo, according to the creator, this was 55-65% of the full game so I'm going to discuss it as if this was the complete package.

I'm on the fence about it, visually. While everything looks very nicely detailed and all, the gritty/dirty filter over the camera seemed like an odd choice that didn't really work for me. The static effect that appears when you see something "unsettling(?)" is fine enough but I think those effects obscure the scary moment, making it less scary and more confusing. I think simply having it shrouded in darkness and only giving a brief glimpse is more effective than what was used but over all, I have no issues with it.

The atmosphere played its part. I think the warehouse scene managed to balance light and darkness well. It was bright enough to see so you don't require a flashlight but the limited draw distance kept a sense of looming darkness all around, which I really liked.

Despite being labeled as a survival horror game, the only "Monster" seen is some sort of worm with a skull looking face. While it remains relatively out of view except for a few key moments to build suspense, which is what I always want, the design itself as a worm with a skull face wasn't nearly enough to hype me up nor felt like a suitable "Antagonist".  Because nothing happens in terms of an actual threat, any sense of fear was pretty muffled.

There was one instance where I actually got a little creeped out. At 2:50 , you can hear the sounds of foot steps coming up the scaffolding behind you and while curiosity demanded I see what was following, I genuinely let out a yell and took off running because the skull worm wouldn't make footsteps so the imagination machine ran wild into nightmare town.

The only other part that sort of got me going was around 5:00 when I saw the black cloud slithering in the air down the path I came, there was actually a couple of seconds of wondering before it finally hit me and I panicked. Though looking back, it wasn't going nearly fast enough to really bestow a sense of panic which, given how fast your sprint runs out would have made a pretty suspenseful moment.

You'll notice a fade out in the maze. I did this because it actually goes on for quite a bit and nothing happens. No scares, no suspense, just follow the cable, so I spared you all the wait and resumed the video when things starting going down, which leads me to one of my favorite concepts.

The swarm of black birds (I'm guessing crows) was a great moment, especially at the end. Unfortunately my first playthroughs had the birds constantly swarming around as I made my way up the maze stairs (Which was a little disorienting but when I recorded, they seemed to stay away. The final moment of the demo nailed it though with them attacking non stop and while they don't seem to actually hurt you, it definitely made for a tense moment.

I sincerely hope the rest of the game did a little more with ambient sounds and perhaps a more threatening monster. A few more swarm of birds during a chase wouldn't hurt either!
