How to Excel With INARA

This Guide is meant to introduce the mechanics of Inara and her Abilities.
It will also explain a couple competetive builds and the proper way to play them.

Introduction










Inara is listed in game as a Front-Line Campion.

Her Survivability is incredible. Almost comparable to Torvold.

Her skill set provides incredible Utility.

Her dps is massive when compared to most other Front-Line Champions

Inara is most effective when
-Used to draw focused enemy fire
-Used for Point Capture and Occupancy
-Used to Push Payloads



Skills and Abilities



STONE SPEAR
Primary Attack (Left-Click by Defualt)
Direct Damage
Fire a burst of 3 projectiles dealing 225 damage each over 0.4 seconds, every 1 second.






EARTHEN GUARD
Secondary Attack (Left-Click by Defualt)
10 Second Cooldown
Enter a defensive state that lasts 5s where you and your deployables take 30% reduced damage and you take 60% increased healing.






WARDEN'S FIELD
Ability 1 ("q" by Defualt)
12 Second Cooldown
Area Damage
Place a stone obelisk that pulses which slow enemies for 60% and deals 150 damage per second.






IMPASSE
Ability 2 ("f" by Defualt)
15 Second Cooldown
Deploy a wall that grows out of the ground and lasts 5s.






SEISMIC CRASH
Champion Ultimate
Throw your spear, passing through shields and stunning any enemies within 40 units of its impact for 2s and dealing 500 damage.








Typical Match Outline Guide
Every Match can be broken down into two parts in reference to the Object, "Before" and "After" the Objective is Captured.
These two moments are crucial in how you play Inara


Before

-Your first MAIN point of focus should ALWAYS be the Objective, whether you are Capturing/Occupying a Point, or Stopping/Pushing a Payload, make sure you are always in range of the Objective.
-Once comfortably in range of the Objective your point of focus will shift to Tactical Disruption.
This refers too a focus on preventing enemy cohesiveness in hopes of disrupting tactical play
While also using your Primary to pick off squishy champs while lowering the health of others (Especially other Tanks)

After

-When this occurs your main concern will shift to Inaras Tactical Placement.
This refers to where exactly you are playing Inara on the map.
The priority should be to remain BETWEEN the enemy team and your own
unless when doing so would mean leaving the range of the Objective.


Tactical Disruption and Tactical Placement
In order to effectively play Inara it is important to understand the purposes she serves in Match.
Two of most the most important reasons for playing Inara are Tactical Disruption and Tactical Placement.



Tactical Disruption
This refers too a focus on preventing enemy cohesiveness in hopes of disrupting tactical play.

Indispensable for any Tank, Tactical disruption is one of Inara's MOST effective uses and can be acheived a number of ways.


Tactical Placement
This refers to where exactly on the map you choose to play your Champion.

Though tactical placement is important in ANY attempt to play a Tank.
In regards to Inara however, not ony is that importance retained, it also includes a unique amount of depth due Inara's ability to place deployables.
Playstyle Tips
ALWAYS
The Following are things which you should ALWAYS do when playing Inara

***ALWAYS***

-place a WARDEN'S FIELD within range of and immediately upon entering range of the objective.

-Buy CHRONOS; Less Cool Down = More Ultility + More Harrass

-Buy NIMBLE; increased movement is essential for survivability


Play Tips

1. Stone Spear is strongest when used at close range. It allows you to easily hit all projectiles for maximum damage. Its fall-off damage is pretty harsh.

2. Stone Spear has a relatively long reload time so try not to waste your shots randomly poking enemy players unless it can secure a kill.

3. Only ever use Earthern Guard when you anticipate large amounts of damage. 1 on 1 you can still use it if it ensures your survival, but it will leave you vulnerable if you then need to push the payload or stand on a control point.

4. Earthern Guard reduces incoming damage by 30% for 5 seconds but with her legendary card, this is boosted to 50%. With Haven, it can be as high as 71% and with Warder's Field active (Sacred Ground IV) as high as 91%.

5. Warder's Field with the above loadout reduces incoming damage by 20% while your Obelisk is active. With haven, to tier 2, by as much as 31%. Rotate your skills between Earthern Guard and Warder's Field for maximum mitigation.

6. If you anticipate a huge spike of damage, use both Earthern Guard and Warder's Field at the same time as their damage reduction stacks.

7. Impasse is as valuable for buying you time on your cooldowns as it is for preventing enemies from escaping and/or arriving to you. If you're on the Control Point, don't be afraid to drop it in front of you to buy yourself some breathing room.

8. It's a good idea to always use Impasse to single out an enemy player. They'll have to back away and walk around it which is often enough time to kill squishy Champions.

9. Impasse moulds itself to an area in order to fit. Try to place it in doorways or corridors to prevent access.

10. With Impasse having 650 health it's a good idea to place it directly in front of you when you need to escape or to allow your support Champion to get your health topped up. You can then bring the wall down and fight again.

11. Try to only use your Ultimate ability when your team can follow up. Inara deals damage too slowly to make use of the 2 second stun alone.


* When using Empasse, Youre goal should be isolating a threat, or separating Support from the heard. (See Pic)

*Notice* This is not a complete Deck Building guide and Strategy guide, so I will not go into any theory or play style techniques here.

This is a General All-Around Tank build with VERY high Survivability.
It focuses on Objective Dominance and Tactical Disruption.
