Airport Ramp Marking Pack

Description
Basic Info

This is a pack of airport ramp marking props. They are actual game geometry and NOT decals, this allows for better game performance, and for them to all share the same texture.

The tri-count is as follows:
  • Characters are all 2 Tris (regular and LOD)
  • Rectangles are 10 Tris with a 2 Tri LOD
  • Triangles are 7 Tris with a 1 Tri LOD.
  • Circles are 58 Tris with an 8 Tri LOD.

They all use the same 512x512 diffuse texture (no others), and a 128x128 LOD diffuse.

Contents

  • Circle Ramp Marking (1,2,3 chars)
  • Triangle Ramp Marking (1,2,3 chars)
  • Rectangular Ramp Marking (1,2,3,5,7,8,11 chars)
  • Characters A-Z, 0-9, Dash, and Comma

Placement
We recommend using the move it, and precision prop placement mods.

The characters are all raised above the background markings (in the Z-direction), so there should be no cliping. If you place these over lines, you may have to raise them up, and raise the characters as well.

Notes About Ramp Markings

The triangle and circle markings are used for ramp names, where the rectangular ones are used for gates.
Ramp names will never be more than 3 characters (usually either a single number, or a number followed by a letter).
Rectangular markings, however, can be used for gates (any alpha-numeric combination used by the aiport). Additionally, they can be used along side of the ramp names to denote which gates are on that ramp (e.g. "A1-A12", or "A1,A3,A5"), hence the wider range of rectangular markings.

Finally, I and O are never used for ramp names, since they can be confused for 1 and 0. However, they may be used in words / abbreviations spelled on the marking (e.g. INTL).

Was kind of disappointed that there are no arrows, but still a good asset.

Hi...can you please add some arrows to show the directions of the ramps?

Yeah yeah, that's right, enough offtopic.

@Captain Toof That would take too long - my time would be better spent updating other mods if I have time. Each asset would have to be created one at a time individually - I don't remember how many there are, but there could be upwards of 100.

I know, but Editor is completely unaffected by LSM, i have backup space in pagefile, but may be 'ballooned' if like a 10 exessive MB. Don't worry much, maybe i need low quality textures.... Just filled all my operative amount, ~120 mods and ~3300 assets. Huehuehuehue.

@Captain Toof it shouldn’t actually use that much RAM if you have the loading screen mod. It uses that much space on disk though. The way the game assets work, is that they cannot share resources like common texture in their .asset files. The loading screen mod should combine them and have one copy of the texture atlas in RAM instead of 30 copies of the same thing (one per asset).

Ohh, too heavy ;(

@Yoshi654 Thanks! If you get the in game camera just right, with tilt-shift enabled, it probably would look exactly like some airport photos I have come across (while looking for references).

These assets are incredible, more people need to see them! Soon you won't be able to tell the difference between this and a real airport
