A Note About Gunmetal Arcadia's Enemies
Many of the standard enemies in Gunmetal Arcadia are in all four chapters of the game. As you progress further in the game, the enemies get more health. The Seep you killed in one shot in the first chapter will take several hits to kill in chapter 4.

Additionally, there are "champion" versions of enemies. Champions behave just like their standard counterparts, but have more health and drop more loot when killed. You can tell that an enemy is a champion if it is flashing a red/orange color. The game also plays an audio cue when you enter a screen with a champion.
Standard Enemies
Cadence

Moves back and forth, unpredictably hopping forward quickly. When hit, it hops backward.

Chiral

Flies horizontally towards you from offscreen in a wavy motion.
  • One of two types of enemies that will spawn infinitely in any screen it appears.
  • Chiral does not drop coins, gems, or any other type of loot.
  • This enemy behaves exactly like the Medusa heads from the Castlevania series.

Clutch

Waits at the top of the screen until you get close. It flies straight down until it is level with you, then flies in a straight horizontal line towards you.

Drome

Initially disguised as a red treasure chest. Drome will activate when you attempt to open it with your weapon or subweapon. It hops around, and hitting it will occasionally cause it to jump backwards. When killed, Drome will revert back to a red treasure chest and spit out some gems and coins.

Flay

Waits at the top of the screen until you get close. Unlike the Clutch, it takes your movement speed and direction into account and tries to intersect with your path.

Fleeting

A bug-like creature that spits acid in a straight line in your direction.

Levity

Floats horizontally across the screen from either the left or right. Right before it flies over you, it will drop its hook straight down on you, causing damage.

Notes:
  • Generally speaking, if you stand still you will not get hit by the hook when it falls, assuming you’re not level with the hook.
  • One of two types of enemies that will spawn infinitely in any screen it appears.
  • Levity does not drop coins, gems, or any other type of loot.

Lilt

Looks just like a Fleeting, but does not spit acid. Occasionally will spit out a bomb.

Mode

Occasionally spits out a Seep.

Notes:
  • It can only spawn two Seeps at one time. When you kill one of the Seeps, it can then spawn another.
  • It has a limit to the total number of Seeps it can spit out.
  • It can often be worth it to let it keep spawning Seeps before killing it because they all have a chance of dropping loot.

Peel

Floats back and forth across the screen in a figure eight pattern, always following you.

Pluck

Behaves just like the Peel, floating back and forth across the screen in a figure eight pattern. The main difference is that it will occasionally fire a small green shot at you.

Seep

A weak, slow-moving slime creature that will occasionally hop to the left or right. It telegraphs this hop by vibrating for a split second before it makes the jump.

Sever

Waits on ceilings for you to get near, then spawns a Seep which lands on the ground below it.

Notes:
  • Like the Mode, it can only spawn two Seeps at one time. When you kill one of the Seeps, it can then spawn another.
  • It has a limit to the total number of Seeps it can drop.
  • It can often be worth it to let it keep spawning Seeps instead of killing it because they all have a chance of dropping loot.
  • Unlike the Mode, it disappears once it reaches its total limit of spawned Seeps.

Shriek

Runs back and forth on the ground, occasionally making an unpredictable hop.

Sine

Behaves just like the Shriek, but will also fire a laser from its eye.

Slander

A centipede-like enemy which spits rocks and can burrow into the ground. The rocks fly in an arc in your direction, but have a limited range.

Notes:
  • Slander can be hurt when it is burrowed. It’s easiest to do this if you have the Combat Bracers and can attack downward.
  • Similarly, Slander can hurt you while it is burrowed. It can move left or right while it is burrowed, so watch out!

Stale

A stationary enemy which fires rocks in an arc in your direction.

Stint

A stationary enemy which spits acid horizontally in your direction.

Toy

Toys walk back and forth on the ground. They will walk right off edges and fall into pits. Toys cannot drop coins, gems, or any other type of loot.

Vitriol

Behaves just like the Peel and Pluck, floating back and forth across the screen in a figure eight pattern. It also fires a homing shor which chases for a while before flying offscreen. This shot can be destroyed.
Minibosses
Halfway through each chapter, you'll fight a miniboss. They are usually more powerful than standard enemies, but weaker than bosses. The miniboss can be any of the enemies listed here, although chapter four's miniboss can often be a special version of a regular boss.

Capsule

Approaches you and attacks you with an Unmade Shard. It will occasionally crouch and not move, making it impervious to standard attacks. When you move a certain distance away from it while it is in this state, it will stand up and resume its attacks on you.

Notes:
  • When attacked, it will always leap. Sometimes it will leap backward significantly, other times it will land right in front of you.
  • When it is crouching, it can still be hurt with bombs.
  • This is one of four minibosses which can appear as a standard enemy.

Clarity

Approaches you and attacks you with an Unmade Shard.

Notes:
  • When attacked, it will always leap. Sometimes it will leap backward significantly, other times it will land right in front of you.
  • This is one of four minibosses which can appear as a standard enemy.
  • I haven't noticed a difference between Parity and Clarity except that one is red and one is blue.

Kite

Tries to get close and stab you, but also throws daggers at you from further away.

Notes:
If you have the Combat Bracers, he can be easily killed by hitting him back against the wall and then bouncing off his head with your weapon. He cannot get away from this.

Myopic

The miniboss version of Panoptic. Its behavior is no different from Panoptic. Stationary enemy that hangs from the ceiling and occasionally shoots at you.

Parity

Approaches you and attacks you with an Unmade Shard.

Notes:
  • When attacked, it will always leap. Sometimes it will leap backward significantly, other times it will land right in front of you.
  • This is one of four minibosses which can appear as a standard enemy.
  • I haven't noticed a difference between Parity and Clarity except that one is red and one is blue.

Recant

A miniboss version of Silibus. Unlike Silibus, this one can shoot fireballs horizonatally out of its mouth.

Notes:
As with Silibus, the easiest way to dispatch Recant is by bouncing on his head using the Combat Bracers.

Secrete

A big version of Seep. When its health bar hits zero, it splits into several Seeps. Killing all of them ends the encounter.

Undef

Approaches you and attacks you with an Unmade Shard. Unlike Clarity and Parity, it can also fire shards at you from a distance.

Notes:
  • When attacked, it will always leap. Sometimes it will leap backward significantly, other times it will land right in front of you.
  • This is one of four minibosses which can appear as a standard enemy.
Bosses
Bosses appear at the end of every chapter. They usually have the most abilities of all the enemies in the game. When defeared, a blue treasure chest appears.

-Lucid Facade-
Absolved

Its happy face is its weak point. It can fire lasers out of the face. It can also jump over you and drop either Seeps or bombs beneath it while it jumps over you.

-Martyred Icon-
Silibus

Silibus's weak point is its head. It will move left and right on its platform. When attacked, it will back up a little. It also will charge towards you and not back up when hit during the charge.

-Terrible Siren-
Valkyrie

Moves back and forth in a figure eight pattern like a large Pluck. It will occasionally fire a green shot at you. Sometimes it will stop in the air and disappear, reappearing with two fake Valkyries. The fake ones can be destroyed in one hit.

-Twisted Fate-
Befallen

Its weak point is the mask. Moves slowly left or right and will occasionally make a light hop forward. It can fire a laser from its belly.

-Zealous Node-
Panoptic

A stationary eye creature which occasionally fires a few green shots at you. The eye is its weak point.
Final Bosses
At the end of chapter 4, you fight the final boss of the game. It can be one of two bosses, but the one that appears depends on a choice you made at the end of a previous playthrough.

-Selfless Aegis-
Anathema

Weak point is its eyes. It is a stationary boss. It will occasionally fire horizontal fireballs at you. It will also cause earthquakes, dropping boulders on your head. You can hit these boulders with your weapon for a chance at bombs, hearts, or stars.

-Righteous Firestorm-
Amaranth

Perhaps the toughest boss in the game. Amaranth's weak point is its eyes. He is also a stationary boss, but stands over a lava pit covered with regenerating blocks, so you have to keep moving to avoid falling in. Amaranth will occasionally shoot three fireballs in a spread motion in your direction. Like Anathema, Amaranth can also cause earthquakes. These earthquakes will drop large rocks on you, but these rocks can actually stack up, allowing you to jump on top of them to hit Amaranth in the eyes. These rocks will disappear on their own after a short time, but you can also destroy them for a chance at getting items.

Once you defeat either of these bosses, a blue chest appears with the Seed of Unmaking, and you move on to the epilogue.
Epilogue Bosses
In the epilogue, you can face one of two possible bosses depending on actions you chose on a previous playthrough.

-Unmade Seeker-
Rail

Rail has two attacks: one in which he leaps into the air and fires projectives at you, and the other one I forgot! Whoops! I'll have to fight him again to clarify this description.

-Unmade Vanguard-
Brant

He'll hit you with a hammer. Watch this space for a better description.
Guide History
Version 0.9.9
Finally got a screenshot of Drome! I'd encountered it plenty of times before, but always killed immediately, before I could even press F12. Updated the guide with Drome's information. Guide is pretty much complete unless I decide to rewrite/elaborate on anything.

Version 0.9.5
Moved this Guide History section to the end of the guide.

Version 0.9.4
Whoops! Forgot all about the mimic enemy. There is still one enemy missing in this guide!

Version 0.9.3
Changed the "Final Bosses & Epilogue Bosses" section by separating them into two sections. Added Rail and Brant into the Epilogue Bosses section.

Guide now contains all the game's enemies, as far as I can tell. I still need to make some changes to descriptions and possibly clean other things up.

Version 0.9.2
Added the regular enemy, Fleeting. Corrected Lilt's description because, even though I've played this game for 40 hours, I never realized Fleeting and Lilt were two separate enemies. Whoops!

Added the miniboss, Myopic.

Version 0.9.1
Added the regular enemy, Chiral.

Version 0.9
Currently has most of the enemies in the game. Definitely missing at least one miniboss, a regular enemy, and two bosses from the epilogue.

So what determines whether you face Anathema or Amaranth at the end? I was pretty optimistic about my most recent run until I discovered (and died against) Amaranth, lol.

Yeah, I figured if I spent this much time playing the game, it'd be nice to have at least something out there for any random players out there just starting out. I suspect there won't be many new players, but it was kind of fun to throw a guide together.

Very thorough! Good to see stuff like this come out of us devoted players.
