Familiar Faces: Awful Utopia

Beskrivning
Have you ever wished your galaxy could be full of interesting, hand built empires? Empires you could recognize from game to game, with full descriptions and coherent themes?

Awful Utopia contains a large number of custom empires, which will replace the normal, random empires (except for Fallen Empires)

Currently contains 27 custom species, of various nature and quality!

Note: This is a work in progress. More species will be added over time.

For a series of human races, the five "other" arks launched with the default Commonwealth ark, see the Familiar Faces: The Arks of Humanity add-on here: http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=902255007

Dang. It's a shame this Mod is obsolete.

Indeed. SC3 was not a great game, but a lot of the concepts and species ideas behind it were rather cool. I take it you're referrring to the mech-suit aliens from SC3, and their similarity to your Skaled.

There is certainly some star control inspiration, although ironically the closest to a direct reference is the similarity of one of the races to a SC3 race, a game that isnt particularly well loved but has some really great species concepts imo

They are premade empires because you cant mod custom user empires. Also there are restrictions that apply to custom empires that dont apply to premade ones. You can always just copy them from the mod to your custom empires folder and then disable the mod, though!

I have to ask: Why did you make these empires unable to be edited like a user-made empire? There is no advantage, and the ability to select if an empire can or cannot spawn is really useful. Setting them up like the "default" Stellaris empires has zero benefit and quite a lot of frustration. It's all or nothing with your empires. Annoying.

Do I *smell* Star Control references???
