Awesomo Breezehome: A Modest Change

Kuvaus
Please note: This is not compatible with HearthFires.

Awesomo Breezehome is my first mod I've ever made. I have put a lot of effort into making sure this mod functions without error. I made this for my own personal needs, but decided to share it in case like-minded people would be able to stumble upon it. All I wanted from a Breezehome mod was more or less better beds and an enchanting table.

All furniture changed/added is purchased like normal through Avenicci or whatever the guy's name is in Dragonsreach from whom you buy the house. I have tested this mod on 2 different computers, and it works great in all tested scenarios EXCEPT if you've already been to Breezehome *before* loading this mod. It won't crash, but most items will not load IF you've already been to Breezehome prior to this mod. However, the 4 step process below can resolve this problem.

More than anything else, the beds in Breezehome annoyed me. Some wood, some straw, throw a sheet over it, and bed! Perhaps people did sleep like that at one time, but come on... You're Dovahkiin! Surely a nice place to lay down isn't too much to ask. Once I started modding, however, I felt the need to do just a little more. I added an enchanting table to the alchemy lab (A common mod), one dagger display case, and one mannequin. I added a safe to the corner because I just couldn't help myself... I simply wanted a safe. No real reason. I also swapped the corner of the bedroom out for a larger table and reorganised the corner to look a little bit more 'intellectual.'

Notice: The screenshots were taken with a mixture of the 2K texture pack and SRO (Skyrim Realistic Overhaul). I didn't think about removing these textures before taking all the screenshots.

Dawnguard: Is this compatible? Fully compatible! However, there is still the unrelated issue with the Alchemy Lab purchase. This is an issue with or without this mod, but there is a very easy console fix for it:

prid e4ef9
disable
prid e4ec8
enable

HearthFires: I did finally get HearthFires to work, but could not convert this mod to work with it to save my life. Need to look into more detailed debugging methods. I have not fully given up hope yet.

Dragonborn: Fully compatible! No issues.

IF YOU'VE ALREADY PREVIOUSLY ENTERED BREEZEHOME:
These steps seem to work for making this mod work good as new:

1) Gather ALL of your belongings out of Breezehome. They may be lost forever if you do not.

2) Walk outside into Whiterun.

3) Press [~] to open your console, and enter:
resetinterior whiterunbreezehome

4) Enter Breezehome again to see everything in its rightful place as though you've never been inside before.

Thanks to mykalbuckle for making me realise this is a bigger issue for some people than I originally thought. A terrible oversight on my part.

Oh I'm not sure with yours, sorry I meant normally it is backwards. Will try yours and see if it is.

Thanks all for the compliments! I don't recall Lydia's bed being backward, because within the Creation Kit there are plenty of markers to notice this by, however, I'll look into if maybe I did goof up or if maybe the low ceiling is causing a problem. I'll also see what I can do about the fire pit nobody seems to like, and I'll admit that having the middle of the room open could be pretty nice. Having a real oven instead would be a little more fitting for the furniture improvements at any rate. I'll see if I can make anything happen in the next month on this.

@lianasworld
Really sorry about Hearth Fires; I can not figure out what's breaking it to save my life! I made the child's bedroom and everything (Not this particular version, of course), but Hearth Fires still causes the game to crash instantly on load (or new game) with this mod enabled.

looks awesome too bad I'm H/F, I cannot get the thing to work still, it looks great, top stars - apart from no oven, this is the best Breezehome improvement I have seen yet !!

And Lydia's bed needs to be turned so she can actually use it.

@rbull
Safe storage containers added, and your name immortalised in the change log within the game, i.e. the book titled Awesomo Breezehome on the first table as you walk in.

@rbull
Under the table is actually a pretty nice idea, especially since the soul gem chest on top of the table seems to have a hard time staying in existance since one of the latest Skyrim updates. This would be super-easy to do, so I will implement this later tonight.

Press [~] to open your console, and enter:
resetinterior whiterunbreezehome

This should reset Breezezhome to factory original, but you may lose the items you previously had stored inside. Alternatively, loading a save from before this mod was installed should work just fine and you won't lose your your stuff. Sorry HearthFires is such a stick i nthe mud. I have really tried to be compatible with it. :(
