Choose a screenshot for your island that catches its essence. Either
- show the island in total as large as possible (by that zoom you maybe even omitting details that lie on the border of the image) or
- show the main feature from its best angle.

Have a handful of choice screenshots that bring out the best in your island.

So often when scanning new islands I am the only visitor. That's so sad, especially if the creator tells in the text she or he spent many hours making it. If there is only a single uninteresting image, I won't subscribe.

And not having a screenshot means "I don't care if anyone visits ..."

Your space is limited, so tell the visitor you are expecting what he or she should know. I always give two or three lines of backstory.

Nice to have for those who only play IC: What kinds of loot and how many of each are there? And maybe even what is the complexity of the island (shown in the top red bar in IC).
In WA, however, loot is dependent on the size of the island, which means: putting down 5 databanks on a small island, still will only spawn 1. This info relates to WA alpha (before 2017-05-24)

Sentences you may want to avoid in the description:
"This is my first island."
"I spent ... hours to build this island."
"Please visit."
You don't need this. Be proud of your creation!

After you uploaded your island, add at least five (5) screenshots. Show how your island looks at night in at least one image.
Keep videos short, no longer than 5 minutes overall. If you can, do it in a 30-second spot. Someone looking for an island to explore doesn't want to spend much time deciding. And the video will probably be the first thing seen. Take the promotional videos for WA as examples.
