Introduction
Syx is commonly complained about and treated as one of the hardest and most hated boss in the game. The reason is because he's the "wake-up" call boss of this game. In order to defeat Syx with ease, the player must have some kind of basic knowledge toward board control, super block and specialization. This difficulty spike makes him extremely difficult to beat. In this guide, you will learn how to prepare for him and and defeat him. Youtube Video will be attached at the bottom.
Preperation
The following pictures are my status and my set-up for this fight.

-Level 4 weapon is acquired from doing both treasure hunt before you get to fight Syx. The princess is a special case because her damage is quite weak that you don't really need both of them max. Slashing is better than thrust because her super, Blade of Glory, is slash-based and maxing that will allow her to easily wipe the floor with her super.

-You do not need the Princess' specialty bar all the way in forgiveness. I have it quite high at first but because I went with a rather half-baked build since I opted out of min-maxing for the best passives half-way, the princess ends up only being able to heal with Crescent Slash and blade of Glory. Ever since the nerf a few patches ago, you can easily beat Syx with Fury-based build using more supers and stronger attack. Blocking/dodging and using rest is enough to really heal.

-Max your training bar so you get the highest possible damage.

-Syx and his minions are weak toward Sky element so stack those on Rik's knives and on Tox's breath.

-The swamp will give you a lot of good items so consider replacing older items with a higher stat one.
Know your enemies
The following are what the status of the monsters in this fight.

Update: In a balance adjustment to prepare for console release, Syx's health is reduced from 20,000 to 15,000

-The fight will start with 4 mosquitoes, 1 brute, 2 mages and Syx.

-Every turn, up to 2 mages or mosquitoes will respawn at the top and the bottom row depending on how many slots are left.

-Syx will attack with either Vile Volley, Numbing Neurotoxin or his super, Noxious breath.

-The more attack Syx can land, the faster he charges toward using his Super.

-His vile volley is a spray of noxious bolt. They are quite slow and if Syx is at the front row, it will be the first (or 2nd) thing you get to block.

-His Numbing Neurotoxin is a rather slow melee attack. Don't jump the moment he rush into you. Wait for him to cast it first and you should be able to easily block 75% of it.

-Use Tox's Super guard to absorb Syx's Super.

-Blocking or dodging Syx's attacks are much more prefered than dodging the minions attack. Doing so will greatly delay his super. In the video, he doesn't even use the super once before he is defeated because he rarely gets a good neurotoxin to land except for one situation where I was hoping he would use his super.
Tips and Trick
Board Control

The key to winning this fight is to control the amount of mages and mosquitoes are on the board. Skills like "Black whip" or sky elemental "Spread shots" are very strong for control how many minions are thre on the field. If you can keep them low, you won't need to worry much about dying.

Save your supers

Your Supers are the best tool to contorl the board with. Don't try to use a bunch of them in a single turn. Spread them out so Syx never has a minion on his board.

Juggle for the damage

Don't just button mash. There's another guide that will teach you how to juggle. Learning how to juggle will greatly increase the amount of damage you will be dealing. Lawrence assist is one of the easier juggling assists in the game and can be used to help wipe the front row with ease or greatly boost your damage against Syx.

Keep track of your elemental knives

Spread shot with sky element is one of the best tool to wiping a column. It does like 1k damage to a group of enemies with only 500 health! Even if they block, they are still likely to die.

If you can't benefit the most from your attack ,REST!

Don't waste Tox's Black whip for a single-target damage. Use it for wiping an entire row. He can easily do that even without min-maxing because he has so many atk-slot especially if you replace them with all the meat and toxic gland you can obtain in the river map you're at.

Rest will also heal you back up so use that when you're using a super to clear the board.
Grind to win
This section is for people who just want to beat him via numbers instead.

THe river map is a really good map to with. By going back to town, everything in the map will respawn. You can just farm the first 4 monsters at the start of the map (THe kobold, spider, bird and elemental brute) by throwing knives at them with rik and swap back to whoever is at the entrance to return to town.

When going for min-maxing, the follow passive are good to have around and are very easy to obtain.

Princess: Glory unto me.

It's at the top of her board. It reduces the amount of super cost by 25%. With a fury build, she can easily have her super up by turn 4 and wipe the board.

Rik: Double dodge

There's a passive around the left side of the board that allow Rik to dodge twice. Also consider going for Piercing Throw and Fury from above which are closer toward the center. With some SP and fury-princess, you can easily use those moves in the fight and completely destroy a row with how powerful they are.
Youtube Vid
The following is the youtube video. The record was rather rushed so the quality might not be the best but it should show you exactly what you should do to defeat Syx and majority of the future bosses in the game.

Conclusion
Everyone hates Syx fights.

Quick addendum to your guide! While test playing through the PlayStation version, the battle still felt a little close, even for me. Since a console user won't have the benefit of having this guide on hand, I've cut his HP down to 15,000 in all versions. Hopefully that is enough time in-battle for an unaware player to see his super gimmick once, then learn to prepare for it in some way and beat him without having to deal with it multiple times, even when playing well.

Ah okay, thanks! I thought you meant you'd done all that and still couldn't take him, haha. My bad!

Since it's first time (and/or first run), losing for 2 times (now I remember that I lost for 2 times) and then win the battle, the battle appears actually normal for me due that time I don't know for sure how to deal with Syx. With everything is given here and knowing how to deal with him, that should be enough to win the battle and the battle not so hard when I know what I should do.

My reviews about him before the nerf:
Syx's super attack? Mmm, normal.
His minions? Normal as well.
Nothing is that really troubling me out back then. All I need was the knowledge, more levels (and powers up as well), preparations, and timing to block and evade the attacks.

Gosh, I'd hoped he was reduced to a speedbump by now. If he's still a big, green brick wall, maybe I'll tinker with the balance a little more. Is it his super attack giving you the most trouble, or more his minions?

My First Run before the nerf; lost (mostly obviously), maybe around 2 - 3 times. Saw the weaknesses in all enemies especially on Syx. Oh, okay! (Do what I need to beat him). Saw my party stats, should be enough to beat him ('Cause I was wondering around on Indigo Tines for about 2 times due searching the whole treasures, making my level increased for 3 levels). Fully upgraded trainings. Used the knowledge on the very beggining time although not used all of it. Priotizes what I need and whom need to be beaten first. That's all!

Still not enough? Do leveling! Syx maybe appears so hard, but if know what to do, won't be problem!

Syx is uncommon, sorry! In the meantime, you can use a text equivalent, like ):≋

Oh and, since I forgot to say before, good work on the guide! I'll make a post and pin it for anyone else who is having trouble.

Gah, guess I will be opening booster packs for awhile then since the amount of cards are quite limited that you can open 2 packs for the same price it takes to buy 1 Rik card atm.

His emote better be a common drop.

I just discovered I can unlock them for myself. You'll have to do it the old fashioned way, unfortunately.
