Requirements:
a) Be Alive.
b) Have no current, active, Contract ongoing.

1. CTRL + left mouse click on any wandering group (caravans, mercs or whatever you want to attack).

2. Enrage the local towns & nobles so they send their armies and put a contract out on you.

3. ???

4. PROFIT

I made this guide because I didn't know this was possible myself, I'm not sure whether or not it's mentioned ingame.

Apparently the bandit life can be quite difficult (moreso than usual mercenary life in BB?), so not to hold me accountable for any missing brother limbs, torsos, heads, and destroyed Ironman runs etc that occur as a result of turning bandit.

turned a perfectly good ironman run into a chaotic nightmare but was definitely worth it. Would do again. Thanks for taking the time to put this together, had no clue this was a thing.

I didn't not you could do with with CTRL + LC!! Going to have give the bandit life a try after my first playthrough. Why did you fire your starting group?

I suggest only raiding one house's citizens as to keep the merc life still open.

I went full retard and got rid of everything except expert ironman starting ammo+tools, 1 bag of grain and 100 gold and a naked cripple. Fired starting companions. Tried to live as a bandit. It kinda worked... but the growth doesn't match the difficulty curve and you find yourself fighting bandit leaders on the roads at day 10 when you have 4 cripples with bludgeons and sackcloth lol. You can find good stuff on peasants, pitchforks occasionly but where will you sell it when you get it if you are at war with everyone?

i've been able to attack caravans doing this but i've had no luck with peasants
