A great example of this was the clock puzzle. Don't just say "the answer is <insert time here>", show us where to find that time for ourselves.

first hint - a clue to what the rooms represent is on the note, in the first room
next hint - present actions, affects the future
next clue - move objects in the present/left room, and see how it affects the future/right room
next clue - the future room has a hole at the entrance that you need to get past first
next clue - have u found the matches yet?
actual answer - the key you need is in the 'future' room, that has the hole at the entrance. moving the world globe, in the present room, moves the hole respectively. to access the world globe, move the chair in front of it. moving the chair in the present, moves the chair in the future also
