New Players Walkthrough
Autorstwa: Strategy Player
This will be the go to walkthrough for new players.
I will attempt to answer every single question you might have and with a bit of luck another 50 you might have never thought of.
This guide will take you from character creation to the main city of the game Ardent.
There is a lot of good information here in this section already but sadly it is mostly out of date and several years old.

I play on server US2 as player Baltazar a hybrid fire and ice wizard.
I spend most of my play time on the world chat channel answering new players questions and helping out as I can.

Main links
Okay first off the bat you will want to go to each of these links and bookmark them.
They will be very useful to you as you play.

This is the main website for the Stand Alone Client (SAC).
Steam does not allow players to play the game through the pc/laptop and a mobile device.
If you want to play your characters through multiple devices you will need to download the program from this website.

http://www.villagersandheroes.com/category/featured/

This is the main wiki for the game.
It has a section on the classes and a section for quests.
It is powered through ads for almost every game online today so having an ad blocker on your browser is very helpful.

http://villagersandheroesreborn.wikia.com/wiki

Finally the main website has the forums.

Okay make sure you bookmark all of these as you will be using them daily through your adventures.
Lets get started now shall we??
FAQ
1) Is there PVP in this game??
A) No, there is currently no PVP in the game. There is some discussion about the possiblity of adding it in the future. Personal opinion, it will never have PVP.

2) Is the game pay to win??
A) No, the game is not pay to win. There is no PVP, no guild vs. guild. Most of the items in the cash shop are for convenience and clothing items.

3) Is this game dead??
A) No, the game is very much alive. The developers recently added the ability to play the game through mobile devices, assuming you download the Stand Alone Client and not through steam.

4) What languages does the game support?
A) The game currently supports English, German and just recently French. The development team is working on supporting more languages as we speak.
Edit: The game now supports Russian and Turkish as well.

5) What is the most overpowered class in the game today??
A) There is no PVP, all the classes are fun to play and all can be played solo or in groups up to end content.

6) Why is there lag in the game??
A) The servers are hosted in Germany. Even though is says US1, US2, Europe 1, Europe 2
they are all hosted in Germany so if you do not live in Germany you will get some lag.
We all do.

7) Can I get a house in game??
A) Yes, you can get a house. In fact owning a house is crucial to your success in game and I will go into that in much greater detail in another section.

8) I read an old review and it says it has an energy component to play??
A) No, no energy componet anymore.
I wish there was a way to get these old old reviews to be changed or deleted. There once was an energy component like you see on facebook games called VIM. It was bad bad and more bad and the developers listened to the community and got away with it. Today there is no limit on the types of actions you take or having to wait around as an energy bar fills up.

9) Can I have a farm in game??
A) Yes, you can get a farm. In fact farming is crucial to your success in game and like the house it will be covered in greater detail.

10) Can I raise animals in game??
A) Yes, as part of owning a house you get the farm and farm animals to raise.

11) What occupations can I be??
A) There are 4 main gather skills in game, mining, plant lore, fishing and bug hunting.
There are 4 main craft skills in game, forge, loom, cooking and lathe/sawmill.
The character can do as little or as much in each of these skills as they want.
The current max level in all skills is 79.

12) What is max level in the game??
A) Today the maximum level in the game is 79. It is supposed to be raised again sometime
this year 2017. It stated out in Beta at 20, then raised to 30. More content was added and
it was raised again to 55. Finally it was raised to the current cap of 79.

13) I am stuck in game, on a tree or rock or mountain??
A) Type in the chat line /unstick or if that does not help type in the chat line /suicide.

14) I have this code to redeem for some prize how do I use it??
A) Type in the chat line /redeem then a pop up will show enter the code there.

15) Can I own a mount in game??
A) Yes, you can own a mount in game and it does increase travel speed to help getting
around faster.

16) Can I get a mount for free??
A) Yes, during certain events, usually around holidays, there are ways to earn a free mount. However it is not easy and time consuming and the mount from events is not as fast as one bought with real money.

17) How old is this game??
A) At the time I am writing this guide the game is now six years old. It has recently been added to the mobile market in the last four months.

18) What classes can I play??
A) Currently there are four classes, the wizard, the warrior, the hunter and the priest.
Each class has 2 subclasses for variety.

19) Are there dungeons in the game??
A) No this mmo does not have dungeons it has elder bosses and an event zone where players
team up to beat bosses. It is broken up into zones and has no instances. Most of the group activitiy is in bounty hunting as groups and working on the village projects.

20) What happens if I forget to pay rent and lose my house??
A) All the items you have in your house will still be there. Your farm animals will be moved into
the kennel. You will however lose any plants you had growing in your farm. You can pay rent
twice to give you a full 28 days of rent so you need only worry about it roughly once a month.
Simply click on the white sign again or if that lot is now occupied find another free spot. Once you are caught up in rent the items you had in the home will be available to you again.

Okay that is all the normal questions I get asked daily, if more ones start to show up I will update this guide.
Character Creation
Okay lets make a character so we can get done reading and on with playing this game.

There are currently four main classes to play, the wizard, the warrior, the hunter and the priest.

Here we have a pretty typical creation model.
Enter the players name, the players avatar including face and body types.

Now we come to the class screen.
Today there are two subclasses for each class. It does not really matter all that much as the talents you start with anyone in that class can get with experience points. For example the warrior can start as a knight with a sword and shield or as a warrior with a 2-handed weapon.

I encourage everyone to go to the wiki I provided and look at the class sections very carefully now if you have not already done so. They will answer all the questions you might have about what each talent does, if it can be found from monster loot or has to be crafted in game and other useful information.

Next we have the villager selection and starting skills. It really does not matter what you pick here as all skills can be improved through gameplay. For wizards, priests and hunters I recomment picking the plant skill to make it easier to gather wood for the staffs and bows. For warriors i recommend picking mining so you can get the ore for your weapons and armor faster.

Finally we come to the choice of farming or ranching. It is almost impossible in game to keep farming even with ranching, the care of your livestock so for me the answer all will be to start out with farming higher then ranching for everyone.

Now we have the starting region. This is the place where your character comes from.
Please take a long time on this section. Each section has a very specific bonus in game and it can not be changed with out spending real money in the cash shop later on. Some are more helpful if you plan to be a warrior, some help the wizards and priests out, some are better for the hunter, others are better at crafting skills.

Now the starting selection of houses. Again, pay close attenton to the house you will want to get. Each one has a very specific bonus in game and if you choose to change it is very expensive with 100 or more game gold to do so.

Okay the final piece of information on characters. Each player gets three free character slots per server. So if you really want to try out a warrior and a priest and a hunter or a wizard all at one time go for it. You get three free so why not!!
Starter zones
Why hello there mister or miss new character. Now you exist in the game lets make sure you are the best prepared I can make you before you reach the main city of the game Ardent.

You start out in the goblin tunnels on your way to go see a festival in the small town of Summers Hollow.

First pop up is for basic movement, the game uses WASD keys so you will need to type each key one time.

Progress, you have a character and can now move.

Second pop up is to jump, press the space bar one time.

The next pop up tells you to interact with NPC's in game that give you quests.
Look for the lady by the broken down carts with the purple ! on top of her head and get the quest to chase off the goblins. You need to kill four goblins then return to her to complete the quest.

This game is very heavy dependent on quests, most of your experience will come from getting and completing quests in game. As a rule of thumb I get every single quest as soon as I run across them whether or not I can complete them at the time. There is no limit on how many quests you can have and the game lets you track up to five at the same time.

The goblins have been driven off now you can go through the portal, the giant blue wormhole thing to transfer between zones. You are now in the starter zone town Summers Hollow.

Summers Hollow Starter Zone

You start here after walking through the portal. Make sure you talk to everyone with a purple ! on top of their head they will give you the main storyline quest that needs to be completed. Other NPC's have a yellow ! on top of their head with optional quests for you to complete or ignore as you choose. Again, my personal recommendation is to get them all and complete them all as you can.

Now we get introduced to the zones. You can access the entire zone mini map by pressing the hotkey M. It will show you the entire zone. Make note of the location for the teleport pad and portals to neighbor zones you can travel to. Also pay attention to all the work stations you can use and the personal vault where you can place your items.

Okay great you now have the main quest in your quest book and hopefully are tracking it on the quest tracker. Lets take a moment now to go grab us the teleport location and get a free travel stone. Walk over the teleport pad. Every single time you visit a new zone and walk over the teleport pad you will unlock that zone allowing fast travel around the world. If you do decide to pay the monthly sub around $7 a month you get unlimited travel stones and other cool things I will
go into later. If not it will cost you one travel stone each time you use the teleport pads. You use them by clicking on the globe on top of your screen and seclecting the zone you have unlocked.

Now we have some quests and the zone unlocked. Lets get us to level 2. On your map and on the mini map you have three bounty creatures to slay. These are the white skulls on the map and represent tougher opponents. One of them is for the main quest and can not be accessed at this time unless you progess along the quest line. Lets go kill the other two. Notice the large xp reward you gain from killing them?? Also notice the large payout for the first time you kill them??
Every time you kill a bounty in the zone for the first time and first time only you get a large xp bonus and a large cash payout. It is a good way to gain both.

You should have got to level two now. Congratulations you are well on your way. Press the T key or open your character screen and go to the talent section. Here you can spend your free talent point any way you choose to improve your character. Lucy levels ending with a seven gain two talent points so you can spend two at once.

Lets see, your level two, have some quests to complete, have some money in your pocket have the zone unlocked lets go get us some free armor and weapons now. Locate the quest givers in the zone by the workstations that say masters. One will be for the masters gathers and one will be for the masters craft. Make sure you get both quests if you have not already done so.

Locate the blue portal that will take you to the zone Gandymeade Grove. Go through it and welcome to a new zone. Lets take a minute out to go grab us that teleport pad and unlock it. You should have two teleport stones in your bag now. Grab every single quest that you run across. Go to the very bottom left hand portion of your map. You will see the group of cooking pots and a row of forges. Lets level up cooking from skill 1 to 10 now. Find the NPC teacher by the cooking pots. Make sure you find the well and grab/gather water. Each time you pull on the well it brings up a pitcher of 10 water. The stack size is 1000 so get a good stack to use in the lessons. Tell the teacher when you are ready. You will be given a quest and staring materials for free. Here is a spoiler to make your journey easier. Tell the teacher you used up the materials you were given and you will be given a second of materials for free. That is right you now have twice the materials you need for the quest. Complete the quest and cook the item. Go back to the teacher complete the quest and get the one. Make sure you get the next quest and again tell the teacher you have used up all the materials. Again, you have twice the materials you need to complete the task at hand. Repeat this until your cooking level is now at level 10.

Awesome your character is now at level two and one of your primary skills is already at level 10.
Go to the nearby forge and find the teacher for smith working. Do the same thing here as you did with the cooking teacher. Get a quest, tell the teacher you used up all your materials for a pile of free ones and complete the tasks until your smith forge skill is now at level 10.
Congratulatins if you are a warrior you just got a good staring weapon and armor for free.

Next you want to go up a bit further to the row of sawbenches. Find the teacher here that teaches woodworking skills. Like the other teachers get a quest, tell the teacher you used up all the materials and get more free ones. Complete the quests until your wood working sill is now 10.
Congratulations if you are a wizard or a priest or a hunter you now have a good starting weapon to use for free.

At this time you can either go find the gather teachers in this zone for ores and wood or to complete or make note of them to come back to later. If you are not a warrior it is time to go get you some starter armor for free. Find the portal that leads from Gandymeade grove back to summers hollow. Go through it. Now find the blue portal to take you to a new zone Dagmar Strand. Go through it.

New zone, yep you got this now. Walk over the teleport pad, get a free travel stone. Unlock it for future use. Pretty close to the teleport pad is a few loom machines. Here you will find the teacher who teaches you how to make cloth and leather armor. Repeat the steps here get the quests, tell the teacher you used up the materials to get more free ones and raise the skill from 1 to 10.
Congratulations no matter what class you are playing your skills are now level 10 in craft and you now have a good weapon and armor to use.

At this time you can either go find the gather teacher in this zone for the fish and fruit skill to complete now or make note of it to come back to later. Either way lets go get your home and farm and farm animals.

Homeowner
Find the portal that leads back to Summers Hollow. Use it now take a minute to find the giant yellow portal. This is the way to travel between towns and your village. Find the NPC Donald and get the quest homeowner. He tells you to go through the yellow portal. Once you are at the yellow portal click on it. You will be presented with all the villages in the game. Some are open and some are guild owned. Take note of the village population. There will be two numbers the first number shows the number of characters in that village. The second number shows the maximum population in that village. For example you might see a village with 35/35. That means it now has a population of 35 in a city with a maximum of 35 players. This means that village is full currently and has no room to settle. Simply find another village. If the village says guild you will need to contact the guild leader and be invited to the guild to settle there. So pick a village that you like or maybe you have some friends in game and they already have a home see if they can tell you which one.

Walk through the yellow portal into the village you choose and if you picked one that is open and has free spots you can now get a home. Go talk to Donalds friend Dareen for some quick xp. You are looking for a white sign on an empty lot. You are not looking for an actual house. Find one sign, click on it and you will be given that house type you selected in character creation. Moving into a house is free. However to maintian your house you will need to pay rent every week with in game gold which is dirt cheap like one monster killed per week cheap. This is so as inactive players leave the game the houses go away and there is room for new players to move into.

You will be given the house, the garden and the animal pen now.
This is a good chance to get started on village life. Go the wooden sign outside the farm and buy your first set of seeds. I recommend sheep food cabbage but it is all up to you. Buy 25 seeds and plant them. You plant them by picking the seeds out of your inventory and placing them in the rows of your farm. Do not forget to water them to help them grow. Use the stack of water you got from the cooking quests and if you need more find a nearby well to fill up.

Lets go get started on your ranch. Find your single sheep you get for free and you can pet him or give him food depending on if you have it from the early gather quests. Sheep will provide fleece for wizards and priests armor. If it is a normal sheep it takes one full day for it to grow fleece for you to use. As your ranch skill grows you will unlock new animal slots and will eventually be able to buy chickens and pigs using the wooden sign outside the animal pen.
The animal kennel lets you hold animals and take out different types as your needs change while you are playing For example the chicken will provide eggs and the pig will provide ham.

Perfect, we are level two or higher, have free weapons and armor own a house, have a farm and farm animals. Now you are truly ready to begin the journey.

Go back through the yellow portal and since we have not got to the main city yet you will be dropped back into summers hollow. Go start working on your main story quest. It should be a breeze now that you are higher level and have better gear. Complete the quests. As you explore and enter new zones make sure you grab the teleport pad. Take time out to kill the bounties in each zone. If you have not done so make sure you find the gather teachers and repeat the get quest ask for more materials. You will want all of your skills to be level 10 or higher before you get to main city Ardent.

Okay I have provided you with the useful links.
You character should have all skills at level 10 or higher.
I have introduced you to bounties, teleport pads and portals.
Your character now has good starter weapons and armor for free.
You own a house, a farm and farm animals.

When you are done with your early starter tutorial type quests you will be given a free teleport stone to take you to Ardent Castle. This will be the main city to finish your journey.

See you in game if you pick my server if not leave helfpul comments and suggestions below and I will try to update as needed.

is it possible to run this game in a smaller window? i tried to lower the resolution to make it run faster and it just made it look shitty. i didn't see a window to fullscreen option so i don't know if their is one.
