How to destroy a floating wall/platform and even a storage
By ikorotkin
How to destroy a wall or a platform? What is more efficient: axe or knife? Or maybe pickaxe? And what if the platform is floating, can we destroy it from the distance using a gun? How many bullets do we need? The first attempt to answer these questions.

Intro
Floating bases are very annoying. They kill positive impression from the game. I hate floating ♥♥♥♥, that’s why I performed one small investigation regarding wall, platform, and storage durability against different kinds of melee weapon and guns.
Experiment
Do you know how many hits you need to destroy one wall or platform? Or maybe a storage? Let us consider Axe, Pickaxe, and Knife. Here is the table where you may find the number of hits you need to destroy the given base part.

Axe
Pickaxe
Knife
Walls and Platforms*
410
426
850
Small Storage
164
170
340
Large Storage

*Walls and platforms have similar HP (Health Power).

Obviously, Axe gives the maximum damage, and Knife delivers two times less damage than Pickaxe. But Knife is much faster. It is not related to our goal but let me estimate the time efficiency of Axe, Pickaxe, and Knife. We need some kind of HP units for the base parts. Assume a wall has 10000 HP. From the table above we can estimate HP of the other base parts:

Walls and Platforms - 10000 Small Storage - 4000 Large Storage - 8000 Wood Chair - 750 Gnome - 5000

If we measure the number of hits per minute for each weapon, considering the HP units in the table above we obtain the following values:

Axe
Pickaxe
Knife
Hits per minute
36
48
84
Damage
24.4
23.5
11.8
Damage per minute
878
1128
991

Pickaxe is the best friend of every base raider in terms of damage per minute :)
Shoot!
The most interesting part. Can we destroy a floating platform or a storage using a gun? Yes, we can! We only need some ammo but this is not a problem for you, right?

Here is the test performed on the Wood Chair. Yeah, I “killed” many chairs during this test with different types of guns. In the table below you will find the number of shots necessary to destroy one Wood Chair.

DD-Mk18 rifle (STANAG) - 25 HK .45 ACP pistol - 16 9 mm pistol - 88 MkIII .22 pistol - ~80*
*Approximate value. I was out of ammo during the experiment.

I tested HK pistol twice, this is not an error, HK destroys the chair with only 16 bullets. Interesting that STANAG rifle showed worse results.

As we estimated above, Wood Chair has 750 HP. Using simple proportion, we can estimate the number of shots to destroy other base parts:

DD-Mk18
HK .45
9 mm
MkIII .22
Walls and Platforms
333
213
1173
~1100
Small Storage
133
85
469
~450
Large Storage
267
170
939
~900
Wood Chair
25
16
88
~80
Gnome
167
107
587
~550

Small storage can be destroyed by only 85 shots with HK pistol! For a big clan it is not a problem to destroy even a platform and then destroy the storages in typical floating base.

I didn’t take into account the distance yet. Need to make more tests.

Conclusion
  • Pickaxe gives slightly more damage per minute than Axe or even Knife.
  • With Pickaxe or Knife any wall or platform can be down during ~10 minutes by only one player.
  • 9 mm and MkIII pistols are not very effective to destroy the base parts.
  • For HK pistol, you need 85 bullets to destroy the small storage + 170 to destroy the large one = 255 bullets if you see the storages through the gaps/holes in the base. You need 213 extra bullets to down a platform or a wall.
  • With STANAG rifle such as DD-Mk18 you need 133 + 267 bullets to destroy small and large storages correspondingly or 400 in total. Plus 333 bullets more to destroy a platform/wall.

UPD: From what I remeber, Gates have 18000 HP (which is 1.8 times more than HP of Walls), and Lockable Door has only 5000 HP (twice less than Walls), like Gnomes :)

P.S. Devs, please, add the following feature: if the storage is destroyed, all content of this storage will fall down :)

P.P.S. Sorry for grammar, English is not my native language.

I don't keep storage anymore and only keep what i need on me when i log off this way anytime someone does try to raid my base they get nothing which pushes them to go loot for their own loot or trying raiding someone else, don't hate be happy! :) . game on

Guys you may look at this guide from the positive side. Did you find that your floating chest can be destroyed by some crazy clan after reading this? Improve your base, close the holes, hide the storages behind several layers of something, be creative.
Me and my friend Spider raided many bases including floating. We never used any hacks etc. We only use some stupid mistakes of the base owners. I has been raided dozens times. Due to my mistakes. This is a part of the game :)

@bishopx82 whilst I agree with your sentiment it isn't always asians. You ask for positivity then say negative shit. You can clip through and see through any wall by punching and holding W. Info like this is useful especially as base raiding is an intended game mechanic. If you don't want to be raided, put your crates on top of a watch tower as they're 9 metres tall and can only be accessed via a 6x12 bridge which you can take down to stop ppl accessimg it when you're offline. And remember if it's that valuable to you then keep it on you whem you log out. Pce V

It is possible to build a non-floating base that will be unraidable. You just need some imagination and creativity. But most people prefer build floating shit. These people are trolling game mechanics, I suggest the way to troll their bases, nothing personal :)

Sorry for asking this, but what's the need of destroying storages? Will it not discard all the item stored inside them?
