Way of the Sheep :: Heidrun Guide
By 2eyes2gems
This guide is meant to help with the early game of the Heidrun clan. As most games are uniquie due to the randomly generated maps, this part is one you never need to change and gives players the best start they could have.

First Five...
Within the first five seconds of starting the game:
Begin construction on a Woodcutters' Lodge and then a Scout Camp. (Why Woodcutters' first? Because it takes longer to build.)

At this point, your resources will still be negative but that will be fixed fairly quickly.

Next:
Select the Villager building the Scout Camp and turn him into a Scout as soon as the building is complete. Do the same for the Villager building the Woodcutters' Lodge.

Now you should have 1 Woodcutter, 1 Scout, and 1 Villager.

And:
As soon as you have 80 Wood, use your Villager to build a Sheepfold. And once that is done, throw 2 Sheep inside. Around this point, you should be 25-50% into your 5th Villager being recruited, so go ahead and build a house. Turn your 4th Villager into a Woodcutter.

Then:
Have your Scout survey your immediate adjacent tiles, then have him do a 2 tile radius (unless you find a Ruins or Shipwreckage, etc.) In that case, take control of that tile immediately for 20 food and have your Scout search the Ruins. However, you are looking for a Forest, which if one is adjacent, you have been gifted with a perfect start (as shown in the screenshot.)

After:
After your Scout has finished his survey of the 2 tile radius, turn him into a Villager, destroy your Scout Camp, and build a house. This should be in-time for the finishing of your 10th clan member. At this point, the only building by Town Hall should be 2 houses, the Sheepfold, and room for a Silo.

By this point, you have should 200+ Food, Feasted once, and 2 Tile Expansions. "If not, restart the game because we are not settling for metiocrity. You are a Sheep, and the best at it." As shown in the screenshot below, by first winter, I have positive in all resources.

While Scouting...
While Scouting, what did you encounter:
(This section is to help you with how to build once your Sheep are established.)

Wolves:
Build a Training Camp. Make 2 Warriors. If u already ha da wounded unit, use him and send him in first. Make sure they focus fire a wolve down. Do not let your units choose targets because then the damage is often times spread out.

Another player:
For singleplayer, if you get started by another clan, just restart the game. They normally waste all your time attacking you and offer nothing in return.

Bear:
I personally have not encounter enough bears early game but since they do not invade and have decent HP, you can use them as a wall to protect you from other players or mobs.

Wolf Den:
Leave dens alone and wait for another player to headbang against them. Build a tower at the border of the den or keep a Warrior nearby.

Ruin/Wreckage:
Take over the spot and have your scout reveal it immediately. You will need that gold sooner than you think.

Forest:
Build a Woodcutters' Lodge, relocate your Woodcutters from your main area, and destroy your old Lodge.

Valkyries:
Late game dealings.

Draugr:
2:1. Make sure you take 2 warriors per 1 Draugr.

Jotnor
If you encounter Jotnor, trade your massive amounts of food with them and watch your gold skyrocket.
Feasting and Happiness...
Feast:
Feast when you can (unless you do a Winter Timing) If you do WT, then Feast the month that Winter starts and you will be in surplus, making it feel like there is no winter. And don't forget: Time feasts with the finishing of food buildings and for hte next minute, do not stop units from gathering food. For instance, if you are about to feast, and you move all your villagers, you defeat the purpose.

Happiness:
Since you will be in a surplus of food at all times, you will expand territory and Feast a lot. Going this build will keep your clan happy at all times.

Don't forget that just because you expand does not mean you have to build upon it. Having additional buildings just to have cost money and if you are not in the market, make sure you are ready to support the expansion.
Focus more on Silos as you will hit the food capacity quickly.
Times...
  • Months: Each month is a minute. 9 minutes unitl your first Winter.

Things to note while reading:
Production does not effect build speed.
Remember: Each month is 1 minute (60s).
Most events will happen at the start of a month so if you know exactly how long you have, it could change outcoems BEYOND your wildest imaginations and save the sheep.

Look, friends, not all build times are static.
After building every building during each month, I found that sometimes buildings finished slower or faster than these predictions. This is because the Villager takes a casual stroll between swings. So, instead, I have posted the most reoccuring numbers for your neehan timings. Enjoy. I love you and I love the Sheep. Heidrun!
Lore...
Lore:
While my Lore build is a suggestion and often changes base on my immediate needs, I would always go, Trading (for the static plus 2), then sharp axes ecspecially if you found a Forest. But in general, a good rule of thumb is go for the static changes BEFORE the percent changes, except for food for as a Sheep you will always have a surplus of food (even during a blizzard!).
Combat...

Combat
When doing combat, make sure you control your units or you will get controlled. By selecting individual units, you can change the tide of battles.
Lastly...
This guide is a work of art and I am going to make it to the T. I will be adding timing for all the buildings and units a little later. If you have any questions, please do not be shy. I will be very active and trying out many new things. I am always ready to answer your questions.
Thanks for the read. Good luck!

P.s.
Guys, guys...let me show you what it feels like to have food in your belly!!!

@usbfridge I do not have an answer for you on pvp, as I have not played much of it. But, I would say, you should be able to play a war of nutrition. Wolves have a warpath advantage but you should be able to grown so fast that they cannot get the resources they need. Therefore they would not be able to amass a large army and you can match them strengthwise.

@1dolarjoe build a trade house when you can. Usually, gold is not a problem if you do not waste it making military units needlessly. Keeping it around -2 is fine for the early game. Another big part is getting your scouts to find wreckage or ruins. The way you expand is everything.

What do you do when you go minus for krõwns? Do you build trade house market or habor? Which one is most beneficial. Like just build 2 trade or3 or build 1 of each krown buildings etc

I like this guide, but you should look beyond what we have now, because in multiplayer you don't just quit if someone is close by, you have to adapt.
