Rosenkreuzstilette has a number of secrets in it that are easy to miss, and even more easter eggs that a player would actively have to go out of their way to find. This guide goes over them with instructions on how to find them.

That said, it is strongly encouraged that you try things out for yourself and see what you can uncover. If you don't want to, or if you already have played through and just want to check if you missed anything then by all means check this guide.

An exclusive feature to the official English localization. Pressing a certain well known video game code during the games loading screen before the title comes up activates this. When used bosses take double damage, and your max 1-up and cross tank capacities are increased to 30. However the replay feature is disabled during this mode and your time won't be recorded.

As for the code? Does the phrase well known code and 30 lives not give it away?

Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Attack, Jump

After beating the game with Tia you'll unlock a code to play the game as a new character. The code quite simply is Left, Right, Next Weapon, Previous Weapon.

This lets you play as Grolla.

Grolla plays simliar to Zero from the Mega Man X and Mega Man Zero games. This includes the ability to dash and wall kick. She has a basic three hit combo and a charge slash. The charge slash is weak unless you are at half health or lower at which point it's fairly strong.

Grolla takes double damage and can get no special weapons. Best of luck, you'll need it.

Awarded for beating Grolla's campaign, this is a new code exclusive to the official English localization. As Freudenstachel is about to come out tomorrow I figure it's finally time to add this code to the guide. During the logo screen press Up, Down, Attack, Jump to unlock the games debug features.

You can do special things using the F keys on your key board but by default will be invincible.

Achievements are disabled in this mode.

First off credit to 冰霜之孤狼1993 for finding the code to this mode. At the logo screen press previous weapon, next weapon, next weapon, next weapon to unlock this mode.

This mode was first featured in a special version of the games sequel Rosenkreuzstilette Freudenstachel which is where the name comes from, though you could also call this no miss mode, perfect mode etc. In short you have one health point and that's it, Tia will die if an enemy so much sneezes on her.

Furthermore all health drops and cross tanks are removed. On the bright side this means it's significantly easier to get lives.

This has been in the game for awhile, but since Freudenstachel is only coming out tomorrow I'm only adding it now.

So at the logo screen press Left, Left, Left, Right... and then go to Schwer-Muta's stage for a special surprise...

When playing as Tia every stage has a unique Game Over screen, and each are a reference to something. The above example from Grolla's stage is from SaGa or Final Fantasy Legend depending on what you want to call it.

To see them all you're gonna have to die. A lot.

Two stages even have two Game Over screens...

In keeping with Mega Man 2 you can replace the stars that show up during the boss intros. Simply hold jump and they'll be crosses instead. Wow.

In Trauare's stage you will come across the above pit after the first mid-boss



This is a call back to Dive Man's stage from Mega Man 4 and is a secret spike filled chasm.



At the end of this pit is the Black Forest's Treasure. Picking this up will allow you to use Lilli as a weapon. Lilli functions like Beat from Mega Man 5 and will actively seek out enemies.

As of Version 2.01 doing this will also unlock the achievement The Secret of the Forest.

If you defeat Trauare before getting this item you cannot get it in that playthrough.

Grolla cannot access this pit at all.

In Sichte's stage after defeating Bomb Turtle or whatever its localized name is now you will come across this room. Tia can slide through the wall directly in front of her following the path of the water.



Doing so takes you to a hidden room with a 1-up and an E-Tank.



When you're done the room above has a sliding section that puts you back on the normal level.

You've probably noticed when you're fighting Zorne and she gets into low health the boss rooms starts filling up with blocks much like a Bomberman multi-player battle.



If you let the entire screen fill with blocks both Zorne and Tia will instantly die. This takes several minutes to accomplish so you won't have this happen unless you're actively working for it.

As of Version 2.01 doing this will unlock the achievement Double K.O.!.

You no doubt have noticed the Super Mario Bros. parody in Schwer-Muta's stage. What you might not have noticed is there are exactly 100 coins in this section. Collecting all 100 will get you a 1-up but will require Eins so you have to defeat Grolla first. Unless you ARE Grolla.

As of Version 2.01 collecting all 100 coins will unlock the achievement Plumber's Helper.



What you might have not noticed is there is a timer in this section. If you let the timer reach 100 it will play a rather familiar sounding jingle and the music speed will reach double time. If you let it reach zero Tia will instantly explode. Returning to the normal stage will cause the music to slow down to normal.

This effect can also be reached in the "Toad House" later in the stage.

In Zeppelin Stage 4 take the upper path and use Eins to get up this ledge and then walk right.



Doing so will take you a secret Bomberman themed room bonus area with a 1-up and a cross tank that can be reached with proper usage of Zornesbomb. The method to get to the power ups is left as an excercise to the reader... or you can just go check out Wild Matsu's guide.

Do note though that timer is not for show, take longer than 60 seconds and Tia will explode. Sliding left will send you to the previous screen but all the blocks will respawn so you can't cheese this one.

While Grolla can access this room there is nothing for her to do here.

After getting a ride from Talos head back a bit till you get to the first pit. Then do the illogical thing and jump into that pit. Hold slightly right when you do.



You'll land on a secret alcove a long ways down (or you'll miss and die).



Use Zwei and head right to find more health than your energy bar has room for, numerous weapon drops and the usual cross tank and 1-up. Make sure to top of Zwei we're not done with it yet.

When your done step on the arrow platform to go left and step on the other arrow platform to be sent back into the normal stage.

Head even further down until about here.



The reason being we're going to use Eins a bunch now to climb to the top of one of these towers.



You specifically want to be on THIS tower. I know that's not very descriptive but trust me on this one!



As you can probably guess you need to Zwei left right now. You have just enough energy for this.



And at the end you will find the FINAL 1-up and cross tank. If you try a lower tower the jump at the end is gonna be too high. If you try a higher tower you won't have enough energy to reach here.

Of course you still have to survive the fall down and then climb up the rest of the way back to the final boss. You might need this last 1-up afterall.
