Guide
Follow these simple steps.

1. Download ReShade 3.0 from their official website[www.reshade.me].

2. Run the installer and when it says select game, choose steamapps\common\theHunterCotW\theHunterCotw_F.exe. Once you have selected the .exe remember to check the DirectX10+ option.

3. When it asks you to install the shaders, click Yes then select only Adaptive Sharpen, Clarity and HDR. I'm sure you can download others if you wish to but I haven't tried it so I can't recommend any.

4. Once the install is complete you start up the game by running the same execute you selected earlier(theHunterCotW_F.exe). This is a one time deal only so later on you can just start it up from Steam like you normally do.

5. Once the game starts up you should see a box appear in the top left corner saying "bla bla Reshade 3.0". That means that it worked.

6. Once you're either in the main menu or ingame you press Shift+F2 to get the ReShade menu to open. When that's done you just follow the easy tutorial which shouldn't take more than a few seconds.

7. When the tutorial is complete you can mess around with the settings, select which shaders work best for you, or just delete it if you're unhappy with the final result. The only change I made was to turn ClarityStrenght down to 0.1

Notes
ReShade does not alter any of the game's files so you shouldn't worry about getting banned. I've been using it for years and I've never had a problem. That being said it would be good if a developer could give us the all clear, just in case.

I have not experienced any changes in my FPS since I started using ReShade(30 minutes ago).

The picture I used for this guide is just a normal screenshot I took without ReShade.

When I activate fake HDR and Levels, I loose lots of details like mountains and trees on the far distance, clouds, etc. Thank you very much but the game still look nice as it is.

This makes the game a little too sharp, doesn't it? :D

Wow! I haven't used ReShade before but OMG what a difference it makes! I was running everything maxed out and thought it looked poretty good - but after installing ReShade with 0.4 Adaptive Sharpening, Clarity, Fake HDR and a little Vibrance it looks amazing. Cycling it on and off and the old graphics look like you are viewing the world through fogged up glasses of the wrong prescription so all blurry. I did notice about a 8-10 fps hit so turned a few settings down a notch (running a GTX 1080Ti OC) Thanks for the tip!!

@BJDware,
Make sure you are not running any overlays. They do not play nice with Reshade and COTW.

Can any one please tell me how to resize the text in the reshader interface? I can't read it.

The author of this guide says to only select Adaptive Sharpen, Clarity and HDR when you install the reshade. I would suggest against it.

You should let it install everything. And then select HDR+Vibrance when you're in-game. (But like I said earlier you could also use the 'Levels' option instead of HDR(FakeHDR), I just personally prefer HDR)
I noticed no performance drop.

OK then, thanks. My game looks good as it is but, any upgrades is always good, right? I'll check on it the next time I decide to play. I have the latest version, along with the others so now, I'll just delete the older ones and use the newer one. Thanks again.

Version does not matter as long as it's not very outdated. Always use the latest version
