I can't play with a controller, can anyone help me?

I'm pretty much the same, but I'm using Num Pad 0 to Reload in games and Right Click (Mouse2) to Jump and Right Shift to Sprint and Middle Click (Mouse3) to Aim/Use otherwise Enter for Use as well and Right Ctrl to Crouch.

Num Pad. 1 is Melee Weapon, Num Pad 2 and 3 my quick switchs for my pref. weapons

Thanks for the comments, yes most people use wasd, personally I got used to gaming over the arrow keys as that was the standard when I started enjoying FPS games a long time ago. For example Wolf3D, Doom, Hexen etc. then over the years I adopted the new games functions to the surrounding keys and have been playing this way ever since. Depending on the game I do sometimes switch some keys around like crouch is mainly Numpad0 or walk slowly is right Ctrl, but overall this guide still shows the main button layout I use for most FPS games.

I did however, since posting this guide, permanently switch music players from winamp to foobar2000, an excellent application that also allows customised hotkeys and much more.

I have to admit my method does not work with most gaming keyboards available because they tend to all have a space in-between the arrow keys and the keys above.
I was glad when I eventually did find a gaming keyboard that does not have this annoying space, the X7 G800V.

Overall I think its all a matter of habbit and what a player gets accustomed to, I in no way intend to get any one to switch over to my method and I dont hold any grudges against wasd gamers.

Have fun and play however you feel most comfortable.

I play with the numpad lul, didnt think other people played different aswell
