Introduction
Most game mechanics of Mobius Final Fantasy are fun and rewarding to understand and explore in depth, but there are a few pieces of advice you really should know in order to avoid wasting premium currency (Magicite) or rare resources.
Contents
  • Spend Summon Tickets on jobs
You probably joined the game in the middle of an event, which probably had a few Summon Tickets as a reward. This might make you think that they're a commonly found item, which couldn't be more untrue: those events and rarely one-time treasure chests are the only way to obtain them, which means they're not farmable in any way... and they also happen to be the only way to get new jobs. It's absolutely crucial that you pull a few of them as early as possible - the 3 jobs you start with are very weak, and can't be improved as much as the "premium" ones.

  • Focus on 1-2 jobs
There's no point in trying to max out everything you pulled at first, even one well-developed job will get you going faster than spreading out your skillseeds. It doesn't matter what you pulled - all jobs are great at making things dead. The differences don't matter until much later on, when you're strong enough to farm skillseeds much more efficiently than now anyway. Even support jobs like White Mage can wreck everything as well as anything else. And the one missing element for each job matters much less than you think: in fact most people equip only two damage-dealing spells for casual play (one from fire/water, one from earth/wind), so that they're always guaranteed to deal either weakness or neutral damage. Almost all stages advertise the most common element of enemies, so you can also prepare several elemental decks with the same job and pick the best one for each battle.

  • Save magicite for Mobius Box
Mobius Box costs 3000 magicite and it's single-handedly the best purchase you can make - inside it is a bunch of items with value far exceeding the cost of the box, and a 50% skillseed bonus that lasts 30 days! If you empty your distiller regularly you can make 144 magicite per day, which translates to 4320 a month. This means you can get one for free every month, with some magicite still left to spare on other expenses. So don't spend any of it until you can get your first box ~3 weeks in.

  • Get some abilities from the shop
The Ability Shop might seem daunting at first, but any card from there will be way better than anything that drops from monsters. Most of them cost only 3 Ability Tickets unmaxed (you can always spend Ability Tickets later to max them) and Ability Tickets are rather common despite not being farmable, so get a few, switch to them and only use monster drops as fusion/selling fodder. Especially...

  • Get Hermes
Hermes casts Haste, which is too important to hope that you manage to rent it. Get it yourself and love it forever. Also consider making it the first card you use Growstars on.

  • Save your Growstars
Growstars are your biggest chokepoint in late-game and you would hate yourself later for wasting them on anything mundane. You only get them as event rewards, for completing a login bonus sheet (so at most every 16 days) and from the Mobius Box.

  • Take advantage of Mobius Day
The 8th, 18th and 28th of each month is a special day in the game - called Mobius Day (because of the rotated infinity symbol in the numbers, I guess?), it provides a handful of bonuses throughout its duration. Save your difficult fusions and Elixir binges for that day.

  • Save your Elixirs
There's nothing wrong with using one once in a while if you really want to keep going, but later on you will encounter places and events where you want a lot done in limited time - be prepared for those. Elixirs also grow in potency as you progress: they recover as much stamina as your max amount of it, and that goes up with your player level. On Mobius Day they recover 2x that amount!

  • Augment your fodder
Ever noticed those material cards dropping from bosses and wondered what they're for? Their sole purpose is to let you upgrade monster drops up to 3 stars once you unlock Card Augmentin by finishing Chapter 1. Why would you do that if shop cards are so much better, you ask? Once a monster drop is augmented, it will always drop with the higher rarity from now on. 3* drops sell for more and give higher fusion success chance. But here's the best part: once at 3*, their ability isn't "Lesser" anymore! Thanks to that you can upgrade the abilities of your shop cards without spending Ability Tickets.

  • Be aware of multiplayer
It's there, it has its own stamina gauge, its own shop and its own player level. It's important that you read up on basic mechanics and what role your job will play in a team, but you will be welcome even if you aren't super powerful (if just because people get 100 magicite for having someone who's having their first MP game). There are 3 difficulties to choose from, and you can just play with AIs instead of other people if you prefer. If you're still on the edge... the rewards include unique cards that don't require Growstars to augment to 4*. Convinced now?

  • Don't buy Spirit Tickets
Unless there's a spirit you really like that expires very soon, there's no point in exchanging magicite for a Spirit Ticket. You get several of them for free as one-time clear/completion rewards - just look at the Steam achievements.

  • Don't try for 100% completion
Unless you have literally thousands of dollars to spare, you will not complete even the base game (excluding events). You will also probably fail to get all time-limited content, which is the unfortunate reality even for late-game players. Just get over it, you don't need the latest and greatest to experience all the content and have fun with others in multiplayer.

  • You can teleport
The top right button on the overworld map lets you teleport to any cleared big node. Some people (including me) actually took several weeks to notice this feature...

  • Use Auto-Enhance
Free 20% exp going to a card of choice. No reason not to put something there.
End
So there. Now go enjoy the game without doing any of the dumb stuff most of us did...
