This mod changes the skybox in most solar systems to be darker and more realistic. The vanilla skybox, which is filled with colorful gas clouds, will now only appear in systems located within nebulae. Systems inside the L-Cluster will have a completely black skybox, since the cluster lies outside the galaxy.

Should be compatible with most mods, although mods that change the appearance of stars and system maps may be incompatible.

Perhaps just being pedantic here, but the light from our galaxy would still be extremely visible, just limited to one side of the skybox. Elite Dangerous has some fantastic space skyboxes, a good reference might be what you see from one of the systems at the top/bottom of the galaxy.

@Straiada Thanks for the suggestion! Given that mod's complexity compared to mine, I'd say its author is the one to ask for compatibility patches. I don't want to appropriate any of their work and, frankly, I don't want the hassle of trying to keep my mod compatible with theirs. :P

Could there be some way to make most (perhaps over 90%) skyboxes be dark and have the remaining ones be from Immersive Beautiful Galaxy? That'd be wonderful, as that mod is majestic at the same time extremely invasive in my opinion... and nothing beats the sheer cold of utter space that this mod offers.

lost this mod and forgot the name of it, remembered the quote, searched "leonard mccoy" and immediately found it

My bad completely, it looks like when running Dark Skies in conjunction with Black Galaxy Sky (which shouldn't overwrite system skies?) it turns every skybox black, but this mod works fine without it.

@DaslyG It works on my end, try uninstalling and reinstalling? Also check your graphics settings; on the lower end the stars may not be clearly visible.

When adding this mod the skybox for every system is just black.
