The depth definitely was greater with Fallout and Fallout 2, but I am specifically referring to the open-world RPG, of which there is no equal to Oblivion. The NPCs alone, how "lively" they were for their time... Wow, I still come back to it every so often. Truly stands the test of time and sets the bar for all other open-world RPGs.

Fallout 3 was a good game but, it was nowhere near as good as Fallout or Fallout 2. Bethesda kept the name and story premise but, changed everything else about the game. 3, NV and 4 are good games but, they don't come close to the immersive CRPG experience of the first 2 games.
