Black Bar/Pillarbox Removal

Since the 16:10 pillarboxing (vertical black bars on either side of the screen) continues to be present in the game, and an issue to some (myself included), I went ahead and threw together a ReShade profile to fix the issue. This does stretch the image somewhat, into a 16:9 ratio, but it's nothing drastic. (You can toggle the effect on and off with the F10 key to see for yourself in-game.) It also adds a tiny bit of sharpening and saturation, but nothing significantly different from the base game. I made up four versions, for 720p, 1080p, 1440p, and 4K. Download the version you want from the links below and then simply unzip the files into the main Mirror of Fate HD game folder, as well as set the in-game resolution to match. To uninstall this modification, just delete those same files.

Still works fine for me. I have the 1440p version still installed and it starts and functions as expected. Only file hooking in to the game executable should be the included "d3d9.dll". Aside from that, not sure what could be causing an issue for you. Perhaps something like Special K or another application that hooks games more universally, conflicting with SweetFX. That's just a shot in the dark though. This has been tested on W7 and W10 btw. Dunno if maybe there are issues on W11.

Do these still work? Game doesn't open if the files (all 4 resolutions, 1 at a time) are in the main game folder and for testing, deleting the files will make the game open just fine again.

The game will not launch for me after copying the files to the dir as you said, until I delete the 2 files and folder. I don't know what's wrong and can't find anyone else with this online with your fix here having this issue...
