The 99 Strat. Best Strategy for Surivors.
By [GR]Maverick and 1 collaborators
My friend and I have come up with a VERY good strategy in DbD that comes great in every aspect.
Recommended perk: Spine Chill (Level 1 -3)
THIS WORKS BEST WHEN YOU ARE NOT SOLO QUEUED.
You do exactly what the title says.
99% a generator, then run and do the next to 99% until you have at least 5 or more.
The best part is, is if you need a distraction to save your buddy that's being camped, or chased, or to lure the killer so you can get another 99 gen. You activate that one and run. If you for more than 5 gens, then you get more points! Also, if you do not have 5 gens done, the killer is MORE than likely going to STAY by that one generator. So that gives you time to do another one because he will try to stay around it.
This is called the "99 Strat".
Basic. Simple. Smart. Innovative. Get more points. Have more fun. AND MORE TEAM BASED.
Cheers!

TL;DR
TL;DR

Step one: equip spine chill level 3 - detection for killer watch it while doing gens works even with invisible wraith.
step two: do gens to 99% DO NOT FINISH IT!
step three: move and do the same with the next gen
step four: save any survivors with possibly with a buddy so one distracts a camping killer another one saves.
step five: when you have 3-4 gens 99% stay away from other survivors and try to finish each one.

The idea is to keep the killler constantly moving from gen to gen worried about the near finished gens so you can keep swapping between gens and freely move around the map better.
with one buddy i went from rank 20 to rank 11 in less then a week of playing only a few matches a day.

@[GR]Maverick How about that tactic:
1. Pick survivor.
2. Be more clever than a goldfish.
3. Win, because survivor is op as fuck.

@Spicy, no comment was deleted?
@Seiko thank you for understanding the point.

Overall, 99% CAN work in random lobbies, if you have people who are actually competent at the game and are smart and know not to pop something until it's time. But it's not a strat that you should just fall on when playing with randoms. However if you ARE in a party it is a viable strat as you can help each other figure out how many gens you have done where they are etc.

(I am so sorry for how long this was)

The strat was simply abandoned because it simply became less favorable. It required memorization of map layout, as well as how many gens have been completed and which ones they were and which were the farthest from the door to pop first, and which were the closest to finish off. People were realizing that lobbies were becoming filled more and more often with random's and less with players who are actually in parties together, and random's don't usually have the coordination to pull off 99% a decent portion of the time. Instead, just popping them immediately to let other survivors know "hey we're on our last gen, if you have anything halfway completed get to work".

You don't actually get weaker in any conventional sense, getting weaker would imply that you are put at a disadvantage every time you get hooked, which as long as you are getting healed will not be the case. While every time you get hooked brings you closer to death it does not make you any WEAKER except for when it comes to actually being hooked. Unless the killer has a perk, game progression should NOT be influencing strengths or weaknesses.

The purpose of the strat itself can actually be useful in terms parties. 99% Means that the Killer (if you play stealthy enough) should never actually know where you are. since you're not popping anything, he has no indicator of where on the map you could be, and thus he must keep patrolling. Otherwise if you just popped normally he gets the general idea of where you are, and the possibility of being caught increases.

@SpicyBBQ Games usually last 15-20 minutes. I have no idea WHERE you pulled 3-4 minutes but that is WAY too short for ANY kind of multiplayer based game, I hope you realize how short that actually is. Second of all this strat is NOT comparable to camping because, unlike camping you are actually doing something. The extra 60 seconds (TOTAL) that moving around the map to finish the gens taxes on isn't the reason this strat was abandoned. And certainly is not comparable to camping because you literally have to stand around doing nothing for an extended period of time to camp.

Wait, when was this uploaded? this strat is old, you and your "friend" didn't come up with anything. Quit stealing the credit from the people who ACTUALLY came up with this.

ok since you deleted my other comment let me explain why this old strategy was abandoned a while ago..
this game is about time management (games at top levels last about 3-4mins) the reason is fairly obvious but lets explain..the longer you take to complete a gen the more time the killer has to find you put you on a hook etc, etc.
now the longer the game goes the stronger the killer gets and the weaker you get(because you have been hooked) thus if you are wasting your time 99ing gens and not completing them you have to return to those gens to complete them meaning the killer has more time to find and hook you again.
It's exactly the same reason that camping is a bad strategy because you are wasting your time standing around the hook when you should be earning more points by finding, chasing, hitting and hooking other survivors.
please if you ever find yourself playing alongside me as a survivor, do not waste time by 99ing gens.
