The following is a simple list of straight-forward steps that you can follow in order to complete the game. This list is intended for completion only, therefore you will have to play through the game again or play through it differently if you wish to obtain all the achievements or fully immerse in the lore. Generally speaking, the story is about a percieved female ghost that is haunting you after you ran her over with your car at night. But there's more to it.

• Any time you hear a pipe falling, or gas leaking, you will have to click on the door at the very far left of the room and then quickly click on your chair, regardless of what you are doing. The only exception to this was if the event occurs while your calling her. If so, I found the best response was to wait for her to chat you, click on the door and then continue to chat her.
  
• Pick up the phone any time it rings. Put it down quickly, however, for if you stay too long you will die.
  
• She hates lying and obscenity to a certain degree. If at any point during any conversation she accuses you of lying or asks you to apologize for being rude, do it.
  
• If she asks for your favorite color, do not choose Black. She doesn't like the darkness.
  
• If she asks to play 'Buttons' do it. If you tie in 'Buttons', she will ask to play again, do it.
  
• Do not win 'Buttons' by a landslide. I do not know the exact number for the threshold, but if you beat her by a certain amount she will call you a 'tryhard', disconnect and kill you.
  
• Only leave the house after hearing the piano, otherwise you will die (ty: 假司机比勃)

• 1. Your character will immediately wake up and go to the chair.
  
• 2. Turn on the radio [will be needed later, see step 16]. Do not turn on the radio (ty: 假司机比勃).
  
• 3. Turn on the lamp [will deter the monster from going to your bed].
  
• 4. Chat with her. Now, there are two general conclusions to the first section of your chat with her. You can die by selecting the wrong options, or you can uncover more about the online stranger by selecting different responses that prompt to different conversations. Ultimately if you want to progress forward through the game, you have to prompt her to ask you to call her. There are many ways to do this. The way I did for 99% of the time was to initially respond with "Hi", then reply with "Same" after she replies with "Nice to meat you". However, I have found that as long as you are cordial, kind, apologetic and play "Buttons" with her if need be, she'll want you to call her.
  
• 5. Once you reply with "Why Not", the online stranger intends to give you her phone number but your computer needs to install its updates.
  
• 6. Select "Restart" and wait through the animations until you are back to the home screen.
  
• 7. Go to "Error Log" and find her phone number.
  
• 8. Call her.
  
• 9. This is important. Listen to the noises once she picks up. You will usually hear a river bank and some leaves rustling, or distinguishable rail road noises. This, later, will prove to reveal the location of her body.
  
• 10. Stay on the phone until she chats you. Then click on the chair.
  
• 11. Reply with "Playing video games"
  
• 12. Reply with "Mechs vs. Fruits"
  
• 12.5 Reply with "No" to "Have you beaten it."
  
• 13. Play Mechs vs. Fruits and reach Level 6.
  
• 14. She will ask you if you want to hear her play.
  
• 15. Reply YES and then minimize the window. Ignore the following chat messages.
  
• 15.1. After finishing Step 15, turn off the light and then turn on the radio. you won't get hurt by the monster unless you walk towards to the computer again (ty: 假司机比勃).
  
• 16. Wait until you hear piano music coming from your radio.
  
• 17. Click on the window and exit your apartment.
  
• 18. Click your car.
  
• 19. Select the place you heard when you phoned her. It will either be a forest with a waterfall, an empty cabin in the woods or an abandoned railroad. If you select incorrectly the first time, you will have to start over. In addition, when you come to step 19, do not go to the wrong place since time is of the essence (ty: Gorre).
  
• 20. Click on the body.
  
• 21. Dig the grave. Make sure you hammer really fast! Note: For @Nope, what worked was to beat to the sound of the music.
  
• 22. Bury her.
  
• 23. You're free (ty: Gorre).
